I think this is a really cool place to see a concert. The place is huge, the sound is good, the "lawn seating" is inexpensive and a fun place to hang out, and there are plenty of options for food and drinks. I know some people are not happy with the prices of the beer, etc, but if you are going to a concert, you should expect to pay a few extra dollars for a beer than you would at a pub. The location is unfortunately in an inconvenient area of downtown, but at least it's still downtown. Besides, it's a beautiful place to spend a summer's evening listening to some tunes. read more

Boy do I miss the original keeper of this space - the Forum. Don't get me wrong, I have seen some amazing shows here (Elvis Costello, Depeche Mode, Oasis, first Edgefest, NIN, etc) but I do not find this is the best place to see a show in Toronto. The Forum that was on this spot years ago was much more intimate, excellent seats (the stage revolved - you saw everything!) and great sound. At the Forum (sniff for memories!) I saw The Hip, Crash Vegas and Alex Lifeson up close and personal while I was in high school. I also met the lead singer from Blue Rodeo back in the day when he was coming out on stage. Back to the Molson Ampitheatre....to me it seems like it was created last minute and as a after thought. The bathrooms are always disgusting and look like they never quite finished construction. The large sinks I will say do remind me a bit of the old Maple Leaf Gardens. Even their box seats seem like an after thought. They are just smack dab in the middle of everything, just like regular seats except they have a little barrier around them. I have seen a concert from the box before...meh...would rather be down closer to the stage. It also kinda concerns me a bit that there are only a couple ways out of the place. I guess my safety self wonders if there was a fire or something....people would just trample each other trying to get off the little island. Dunno...just seems like it was half planned in my opinion. Will I go back - sure if a good show is playing, but I would much rather see the same band at Massey Hall or even the ACC. read more

So, say you like this band for a really long time, and you're really excited to find out they're playing in Toronto. At the Molson Amphitheatre. Then you go to buy tickets (through Ticketmaster, which is another story of rip-offs), and find out that they cost a small fortune (about $200 a person, and half the "good seats" are gone already). If you're like me, you thought, "What are the cheapest ones? I'll just get those and then walk my way up to the front -- it's all open, right?" Wrong. My little analogy here is describing the time I went to see Motley Crue probably about 4 years ago when they played here (Yeah, I know I'm late on the bandwagon, what do you want, I'm young). I paid $40 for a lawn seat and thought I could just walk up to the seats and steal an empty one. Yeeeeaaaah not a chance. This place has insane security. So even after I realized that the lawn seats sucked because they were not seats at all (and I didn't bring a blanket), I couldn't make my way up anywhere, and I also could not see a thing. And WHY OH WHY is the beer so expensive? It's murderous. It should at least be cheaper for the poor people stuck on the lawn, since we can't see, we may as well be afforded the right to get drunk for cheap. Anyway, if you are lucky enough to have connections and get industry passes or free seats in the assigned seating area, then it's great. Or if you're rich. But if you can't justify spending all that money, don't think the lawn is a decent solution. Plus if it rains...you are the first people to be soaked. So sad. read more

My first time here for a concert, and I have to say, it was a better experience than I expected! A huge area for lots of people and vendors, but the most amazing aspect was the laid-back atmosphere there was. People were getting up and moving around, leaving their seats, walking in and out to get food or drinks, and a lawn! All these elements brought together kinda gave me the vibe of a music festival than a typical concert. With most of the venue outdoors, people were relaxed, enjoying the weather, and having fun. The seats were decent, but pretty much the same chairs at the Rogers Centre. Blue, hard, and not really comfortable. Good thing it was a relaxed vibe and you could get up and move around! Acoustics weren't the best though. Like I mentioned, being a mostly outdoor venue, the sound from the stage just didn't have anywhere to go and travelled straight out. You can definitely hear everything fine, but the acoustics were definitely lacking compared to a smaller, indoor venue. The food and drinks were reminiscent of a baseball stadium. Fries, hot dogs, pizza, and beer were the bulk of what was served. Not that I'm complaining about beer! Just a bit pricey, which was to be expected! A nice venue to see an artist you love, but probably won't be back unless I'm dying to see someone! And I may just end up on the lawn next time! read more

While I was at the Killers show in January at the ACC I realized that I really don't like seeing 'stadium shows'. They're impersonal such that the music, performance, sound and ultimately my enjoyment becomes watered down. THEN I look down at my ticket stub and feel the pain I most closely associate with being stabbed. Seeing as how I've never actually been stabbed I have to approximate the feeling. The Molson Ampitheatre is the only 'stadium' venue in Toronto that doesn't inspire those feelings. It is able to retain some semblance of intimacy without sacrificing sound. I've mostly had seats but I've heard lots of good things about hanging out in the lawn. As it is outdoors the weather can definitely play a factor so make sure to check that before any concert. I don't know if this policy still exists but it used to be that you could get into Ontario Place free on the date of the concert, with a valid ticket. read more

My wife and I came here for a concert and have not been here since the old Ontario Place Forum stood on the grounds. Wow! has the place changed ALOT! If you are coming here for a concert come early because it fills up fast and talk about elbow room being at a premium! They had food trucks on the premisis, good selections, souvenir vendors of course (you'll be pay'in and arm and a leg though) and quite a few beverage vendors (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Virtually ALL of them take CASH and CASH ONLY! There are bank machines on site so no need to worry, however if you do need to use one, there's a pricey charge for it! And as for the seating the cheaper the ticket the more elbow room you lose. It'll be an enjoyable evening provided the weather co-operates, but don't expect it to be a bargain! read more

I Love the Molson amphitheatre as a venue for Concerts. The vibe is great and i love being outdoors enjoying my favourite music. I usually get the lawn tickets which are cheap and allow you to lounge out on the grass and chill to the music. Ive seen Kanye West Glow in the Dark tour, Rock the Bells Tour & Drake's OVO Fest and both concerts were unbelievable. A few things that could be improved is a larger drink selection and maybe even a louder sound system, but since this venue is outdoors it does quite an amazing job for its artists. The Molson Amphitheatre gets a A grade from me as a venue for music in Toronto, very chill and lounge environment, perfect for a great summer day =P read more

I used to work at the Molson amphitheater and I absolutely loved it. PARKING: isn't the greatest and can be costly. Just because you paid for your ticket doesn't mean that comes with a free parking spot. We got this complaint a lot. Also get there EARLY and expect traffic alllllll along the Lakeshore. VENUE: Great outdoor venue to watch concerts. Great sound and pretty good views from all over. It's roomy even when its full with the exception of the Lawn. Depending on the concert the lawn can be packed. LAWN: Is more first come first serve and depending how popular the concert is, you may be right up next to somebody to the point you could be sharing your umbrella or blanket. But hey it's a great way to make new friends. BTW CONCERTS ARE RAIN OR SHINE SO COME PREPARED. YOU DO NOT GET A REFUND. Let me give some examples what you might expect from the lawn. If you are going to see a pop concert (One Direction, The Wanted etc..) expect lots of kids on the lawn running around, screaming randomly and or sitting/laying down and parents are no better. Sometimes they're the worst. Some kids tire themselves out and even fall asleep mid concert. No joke. Lol. If you go see a rock concert ( Marilyn Manson, The Allman brothers, Motley Crue, etc.) expect drunks on the lawn and (if they were lucky enough to sneak it in) the beautiful smell of weed. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT YOU MAYBE KICKED OUT OR ARRESTED. The drunks can be loud and annoying. Not everyone gets drunk or high but the lawn has a very laid back feel. BTW if you're obviously drunk or high before you even enter the venue. You may not even see the show, and you get NO REFUND. The lawn is for people who like the artist but don't want to pay a lot of money or they don't care to see them up close as much as they want to hear them LIVE. People like to have picnics on the lawn. Which isn't aloud. REMEMBER BEFORE YOU ENTER THE VENUE EXPECT TO THROW OUT ANY FOOD OR DRINKS. THEY DON'T CARE THAT YOU'RE JUST BRINGING IN BOTTLED WATER. FOR ALL SECURITY KNOWS ITS VODKA (AND NO WE DON'T WANT TO SMELL IT). YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE THE CRAP PEOPLE TRY AND PULL TO GET FOOD, ALCOHOL OR EVEN DRUGS IN THE VENUE. "But it's just chocolate.", "I haven't eaten yet.", "IT'S ONLY POTATO CHIPS AND WATER WTF?"... THEY DON'T CARE!!!!! THROW IT OUT!!!! SECURITY CHECKS YOUR BAGS AND PRETTY MUCH EVERY CONCERT YOU HAVE TO GO THOUGH A SECURITY GUARD PHYSICAL SEARCH. IF YOU MAKE A FUSS OR YOUR SWEARING AND YELLING, EXPECT NOT TO EVEN SEE THE SHOW. YOU GET NO REFUND AND PHYSICAL ALTERCATIONS WITH CONCERT GOER'S OR STAFF MAY RESULT IN A NIGHT IN JAIL. Is it really worth it? Ok often people ask me what the seating is like. Here's how I feel. If you are taking someone on a special date and they loveeee the artist then get tickets in the 100 and 200 levels. IF you're just interested in sound and don't mind holding binoculars, then 300, 400 and the lawn would best fit your needs. Wheelchair accessibility is good as well. If you feel comfortable ask staff for help. We are there to help you. BATHROOMS: What can I say? IT'S A PUBLIC BATHROOM NOT A CASINO. My advice is don't hold your pee because the line up (especially for women) can be super long. The Molson amphitheater is a great place. I've seen lots of people make friends, ask each other out on dates, and even hang out together afterwards. It's a beautiful thing to see Toronto and all the multiculturalism come together. BRING CASH it's the easiest and expect to pay $8 beer and $3 for water.. Btw if your water is SEALED then you MAYBEEEEEEEEE aloud to bring it into the venue or if its for medical reasons. MAYBEEEEEE...But trust me security has eyes. Don't think once you pass the bag check that you won't see them again. They roam the venue. BOTTOMLINE: THE STAFF IS THERE FOR YOUR SAFETY SO BE NICE. BE RESPECTFUL OF ALL PEOPLE AND BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS. YOU ARE ALL THERE FOR THE SAME REASON. MUSIC!!! I hope this helped. read more

This is a very average venue. Aside from the obviously overpriced food and drink, the sound is really lackluster. More often than not you'll find yourself listening to a giant blend of noise, unable to really focus in on any one instrument. On the plus side, it is very easy to move down the seats from the lawn without anybody noticing or caring, so you can get a slightly better experience. A word of warning; the security guards are serious power trippers. You can be walking away from the beer stand after clearly showing your ID and they will card you a second time, asking multiple questions and staring at your face for 20 seconds. Why? I really don't know, they probably just wish they hadn't screwed around in life and want to flex any and all authority they have. Would definitely prefer a smaller venue, but given how cheap the tickets usually are here it's worth it for the most part. You just need to be aware of the potential bullshit you'll encounter. read more

I think this is one of the better outdoor concert venues in the GTA. These guys do almost everything right or close to right (for a price of course) 1) The sound is really good for an outdoor venue. Not as good as a really good indoor venue (roy thompson , massey ) but definitely better than a bad one (Sound academy). 2) Washrooms are pretty clean for the number of people that use it through the night. Staff must be keeping a check on this, as some places dont care once the concert has started. 3) Good crowd management. It never feels really crowded even with the large numbers involved. 4) Well staffed bars, so I dont miss entire songs while buying beer. good seats with stadium seating and good visibility. Downsides? Beer is expensive. That last left turn off lakeshore could take forever, although sometimes I have seen police managing the traffic. read more

As a rule, I'm not a big fan of big stadiums. I like to feel close to the stage and be under the illusion that the singer is looking and singing right at me! However... my experience of seeing Kings of Leon at the Molson Ampitheatre goes against this little rule of mine. Firstly, the venue is just cool. How can you not enjoy listening to one of your favourite bands against the backdrop of the city skyline as the sun begins to set? We sat in the cheap seats (aka the grass) and got a great view of the stage. Yes, the band were tiny-winy from where we were sat, but the big screens meant that we didn't miss out on any of the action. The acoustics were great too. The only down side is that its a right schlep to get there and back. read more

Security here is ridiculously rude and inexperienced. I saw one of my favorite artists at this venue, and the concert itself was great - but everything else was absolute hell. I'm from the United States and I'm 21 years old - more than 2 years older than the legal drinking age in Canada. My friends and I (all of whom were 21+) were harassed by (no lie) AT LEAST ten different security guards who did not believe we were of the legal drinking age. Granted, we look young, but these fake cops were being so rude to us - telling us there was no way we were legal, that these were definitely fake, etc. Just being incredibly rude, after we had paid at least $10 for a watered-down drink. We showed them our legal NYS licenses and one of the security guards actually brought a book to check to see if it was real! Of course they didn't find anything wrong with it because it was an official NYS license. What was especially comical was that there were two police officers right next to this occurrence, and they didn't even care or butt into the situation. Absolutely ridiculous. I understand these security guards are just trying to do their job, but there's a point where "doing your job" becomes borderline harassment. I can understand if we were illegally drinking, but to be of age and to be harassed in such a manner - not cool. Not to mention these drinks weren't cheap. I would have gotten another one but I did not want to be harassed again by security. Their loss. I can spend my money elsewhere! read more

This is a pretty good outdoor venue. I feel like the floor seats would almost be too close and because they're sunken and lower than the stage, I don't feel like the view would be very great, particularly because it's a view from the side. The 200 section is actually very close, especially if you're near the front of the 200s. The 400s are quite far back and not that much different from the lawn seats. But the 400s and lawn seats aren't bad, especially if the show won't have that many visuals, like Lana Del Rey or a comedy show. Even if there are visuals, you can get a pretty good view even from the lawn. Just bring a blanket and sit as close to the middle as you can, as close to others as possible because as the late stragglers file in, they'll be desperate for spots and could potentially sit right in front of you if there's a gap, blocking your view. This is just preference, but I think it would be better to get 300 or 400 level seats in the middle vs front row 200 seats off to the left or right. The way that the seats are angled can make it difficult for you to see the show and the screens if you're off to the side. The food is ridiculously priced, something like $17 for chicken tenders and a pop. To be expected from a concert venue, so get food before you go to Molson. read more

Awesome Venue & with a spectacular view of Toronto's CN Tower !!

AWESOME venue! Been to dozens of venues and Amphitheaters across the United States and Molson Amphitheater is one of the best overall venues. Not a lot of background scenery like a place like Red Rocks or the Gorge and no campgrounds like SPAC or Alpine Valley but amazing pavs, great lawns, good washrooms and beer proximity and the sound can't be beat. Always a good show at Molson Amphitheater! read more

I wasn't too satisfied with the sound at the venue. It was kinda difficult to hear what exactly the bands were playing clearly. Like most venues, everything is extremely over priced. Nothing special honestly, would much rather go to a smaller venue that has better sound than this. read more

If you want a premiere music experience, go to Artpark in Lewiston NY. It is quicker and far less aggro than driving to Toronto if you live anywhere west of Oakville. Lawn tickets are 12.00 each, tallboy beers are $8.00 each and you can bring lawn chairs for lawn seating. The venue is gorgeous (right on the Niagara River gorge) and the sound is spectacular. No huge lineups for washrooms or drinks and the parking lot is easy in and out. Everyone is super-friendly - NO surly security guards. I've been to a lot of shows at Budweiser Stage and there's always been a hassle with security, line-ups, nightmare parking lot lines. Try Artpark! read more

i dont even know if this place is open in the winter...it would seem not being outside and all, but you never know in this winter town. i have only gone in the spring and summer. i have fond memories of sitting on the grass with a friend, surrounded by folks on their feet listening to jack johnson and after a little while of being planted on my ass, i rose upwards, like a buoy let loose from the bottom of the ocean. my head popped up within a sea of people waving lighters and taking pictures with their cellphones. it was magnificent. or simply sitting there, listening to a little alison krauss, joking with your friends, sneaking a doobie, drinking some beers. its an awesome way to spend a nice night outdoors. read more

Its a very nice venue. The seat isles are very spaced out, and very comfortable. The sound is phenomenal, and its never to expensive. Only thing I didn't like was that security wouldn't allow me to take in an aluminum water bottle that had the cap connected to the bottle. Even after dumping it out I still had to throw it out. read more

Heavy handed and very rude guards and mice running under the seats! I will never touch this place again and advise everyone to avoid it. No concert can be enjoyable under these terrible circumstances. read more

***MUST READ*** Do NOT bring a bag here. It's MANDATORY you check your bag with the security and they will not allow any purses, backpacks, string backs, etc. This venue is rain or shine and it stormed during a concert my girl and I attended. No one was told this was mandatory to check your bag so everyone had to wait at the ONLY CHECK BAG STATION, during a storm to get there bags back. It was extremely unorganized and a lot of unhappy people at the end... DONT BRING A BAG. read more

This is a massive venue for concerts and alike. And it honestly is as good as it gets. Minus the alcohol selection and prices, but that's to be expected. I have been here for a couple of music festivals: Rockstar Uproar tour 2011 and 2012, Digital Dreams, etc. They've had a great, sprawling set up everytime. Instagram users, be ready to click and filter as the views of Toronto are spectacular on a nice sunny day! read more

I can confirm simple stage concerts at neighbouring Echo Beach sound better!

I go to multiple shows here every summer, and it's the perfect venue for a Toronto night. Tickets are always reasonably priced as well, and good selection of beer! read more

The American Express Lounge used to be a good place to wait before a show at the amphitheatre. At last night's Foo Fighters show, before the opening act, all of the tables were reserved, which never used to be the case. I was told that Live Nation season's ticket holders and other Live Nation priority ticket holders get first access to the lounge. In between the opening act and the Foo Fighters, there was a line-up with a long wait for American Express Card holders, while Live Nation special ticket holders got to jump the line, making the wait longer. I'll take this opportunity to also comment that as fun as the atmosphere may be on the lawn, there are lots of parts of the lawn where support beams obstruct the stage view, and they didn't have the opening act on the big screens. Essentially going to the lawn is watching the big screens as the lawn is so far away from the stage. read more

Pros: Clean venue, fast access to the beer lines, lots of beer stands to grab a tall can, Can see stage from anywhere, lots of parking space Cons: Well I mentioned can see stage from anywhere yes, but better have section 200 or better, if not seems like your so far away. I had 300s, and 200s only and dissapointed... can't imagine sitting way back on the lawns or 400s. Beer price... $15 a can? WTF??? Ok so they are 710ml or so but still, thats insane! And $20 parking.... I will avoid this place for shows if I can't get floor or general admission tickets, anything in 200's and beyond forget it, too far from stage and sound not the greatest read more

Budweiser Stage treats paying customers horribly. My group and I attempted to attend the Logic concert on July 5, 2018 and were caught in a thunderstorm as we approached the entrance with our tickets. The staff there screamed at us to leave. We stood outside the entrance in the thunderstorm, without shelter, for half an hour. Every time we tried to ask the gate staff what was going on, and whether the concert was cancelled, they screamed at us to leave. Then they closed the entrance gates completely and again, yelled at us to leave. We thought the concert was cancelled. We were later shocked to find out that there was only a delay and the concert went on after the storm. Not once did the gate staff tell us it was a delay, not a cancellation. My requests for an explanation by Budweiser Stage have been ignored. I will not be returning to this venue and do not recommend it to anyone. read more

From a concert venue standpoint the location is good. Sound is "ok" but because of the openness and wind I am sure it is a sound crew's nightmare. The lawn seems to be your best bet as I have sat in seats a number of times as well. The critical issue with this venue is the way the main sponsor allows the Fan/Consumer to be gouged at the beer and wine spots. You would think the sponsor would like to encourage people to try beverages and ultimately enjoy them well after the event once leaving with a positive feeling. Well the opposite occurred this past evening as it was difficult if not impossible to eat anything and the prices charged for beverages was criminal. I will have to really be excited about a band to go again and I will surely be drinking by own beer and wine out in a parking lot prior to so I can afford to pay parking and/or the Go Train. Too bad but it is a reality many venues have forgotten............ without the customer/fan............there is nothing happening that evening. Cheers all. Hope your experience is better. read more

First time visit for us to see the Zac Brown Band this summer and it was an awesome experience! Lucked out with a warm and sunny evening, paid for seats close up, and enjoyed every minute. Three of us went to see Chris Stapleton at the Budweiser Stage. First security was tight and wouldn't let us take in our mug, which was fine, a lesson learned. BUT it became clear that security was only tight for the venue not for the patrons. We sat is the back row of 405 section. We still paid over $70.00 a seat which I think entitles us to a seat. Well the "grass seats" were not on the grass they were on the pavement right behind us. I got hit in the head three times, a couple stood on the back of our chair, one woman fell on top of my husband and I. They were smoking marijuana everywhere and I was gagging. Security did not enforce the seating or smoking or any rules whatsoever. Everybody stood up, we could not see a thing, the screens to the side were so small we couldn't see them with everyone standing. The people standing on our chairs were screaming, there was no introduction whatsoever of Chris Stapleton, I unfortunately bought tickets to see Zac Brown Band, if it wasn't for that one show, I would never go back to Budweiser stadium again. Unfortunate that the venue doesn't walk their talk! read more
