Have come here on a few occasions for concerts. I like the venue because it's not too big that you can sit anywhere and still have a great experience. It's easily accessible either by GO or the TTC, which is a plus because I would imagine parking to be quite expensive. If you're torn on whether to buy a lawn seat, go for it. I came here to see John Legend and the concert was amazing. John Legend can definitely sing and is a real musician! It was my first time here and I can tell you that this place is wonderful in the summertime. The sound is great and there are two large screens. I had great seats sitting dead center in the VIP Section where we had in seat service. Drinks are expensive as you would expect at any special concert venue. I paid $15 for a tallboy beer and $3 for a 350ml bottle of Dasani water. Popcorn is $7.50 and you can order other items for a pretty penny. Pizza Pizza slice is $5.50. Make sure you eat a hefty meal if you feel like saving money. The concerts here are great and I suggest you stat away from the Lawn seats if you plan on being comfortable. read more

I usually don't go to concerts. I've been to a few different venues in North America but I have to admit that the Molson Amphitheater is one of the best places I've been to. I usually don't spring for top seats because I'm quite content with getting lawn seats. I think it adds to the feel of a show and you can really get into the show with your neighbors. To be quite honest, I'm amazed at how well cared for the lawn is with the amount of people that destroy it show after show!. Food trucks usually show up to events here and one can get different foods other than pizza and beer (not that there isn't anything wrong with them) but variety is nice as well. Word of the Wise: Go to the bathroom before you go here. Lines for the washroom grow quickly....or you know, you could pee on a tree as well. read more

I have a secret love affair with this place... It doesn't really feel like summer until I have caught a concert here. Beers and mixed dranks are cray expensive, y'all. Sweet stage set up, awesome sound system, amazing sunset every time. I have fortunately experienced the Budweiser Stage for many years now, including when it was still named the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre. I've been here for Kelly Clarkson, Bruno Mars, Jason Mraz...and recently for Charlie Puth. Yes, this is a more budget stage than the larger ACC or Scotiabank Arena but the ability to actually see the stage from every angle draws the audience closer to the performer. There has always been sufficient bathroom stalls and food vendors to provide for the crowd. For such an old theatre, this venue has grown and developed with time. It now has free wifi and even its own poutine truck. There is also parking for $25. read more

The Budweiser Stage is a large amphitheatre venue for concerts. For your concert visit you will want to note a few things... 1. They search your stuff on the way in. If you want to get in more quickly, leave as much stuff as you can at home/in the car. 2. There are not enough washrooms. Plan to pee before you absolutely have to because even the men's rooms develop long lines at times. 3. Local food trucks serve food here. Some of these are really quite good. If you think you might like it, give it a try. 4. Beer is insanely expensive. Plan on 13.25 or so for a can. 5. While driving in is often a necessity, try to use transit or Uber. Parking is pricey and the less driving after a fun night out, the better. read more

I have to admit, I thought this place was kind of a dump after seeing it from afar and due to its age, but I think I was wrong. First off, I think they renovated the joint so kudos for that, it looks good. Nice and clean and modern. Secondly, the design is totally functional as it sends the sound towards the water and not the neighborhoods surrounding Ontario Place who might be disturbed if it (the venue) was facing the other way. There is a roof cover over the pit area and first level seating in case of rain. The venue is huge and there is a good amount of food and drink options and good sight lines. I was here to see Slayer/Lamb of God/Anthrax, and the crowds were epic. It was a total rager. People from the grass area to the seats and beyond, show and sound was awesome. Staff were pretty friendly, and the washrooms were enough to keep the crowds from getting too restless. Overall a good experience, and most def would see another show here! read more

Thoroughly enjoyed the concert but surprised with only one exit out of the place. Definitely pack your patience when exiting. Took an hour to walk to the streetcars which took 15 minutes when arriving. Having only one exit for the entire population to exit didn't seem logical or safe to me. We for a deal on group on for tickets for Edgar Winter/Alice Cooper/Deep Purple. The concerts themselves were good. Great volume levels. Good levels of security. Well organized entry and exit, lots of bathrooms and lots of drinks and food. The event was pretty good overall, but the seats were extremely small and uncomfortable. The seats were smaller than airplane seats, so we spent most of our time standing. I'd go again but check which areas have bigger chairs. I've got arthritis so standing was a real pain. read more

Depending on the kind of show you're seeing this can be an awesome venue! Even on the lawn where there is more of a communal atmosphere. I've only ever had good experiences here. Drinks and food start at $10 for a hot dog and go up from there. Bathrooms typically overflow so get to it early. Getting there can be a nightmare with transit and the parking lot tends to be a disaster afterwards if you drive. MY ADVICE: walking is quicker and easier. read more

One of my annual summer traditions is to ensure I take in at least one concert at this venue. It is a huge part of any music fans summer and if you've never been, it's a MUST do in Toronto. For my money it's the perfect harmony of big stadium concert going mixed with the leisure of festival concerts. Maybe it's the tiered amphitheatre seating, or maybe it's the "lawns" seats which provide perfect views no matter where you sit. For my money I've always been a lawn kinda guy, the pricing can be super affordable, you can bring a blanket and lie out while enjoying your fave artist in the summer air. On the other side my last two concerts have been rained on and it's at that point you secretly wish you'd splurged on more expensive "covered" seats. While the vantage point of the stage is fair even from the distant lawns, I would like to see them invest more money in additional video screens and increasing the size of the ones they have. Currently if you want a close up view of the bends there are only 2 screens located to the left and right of the stage respectively for viewing. Having one on either side of the lawns would be helpful in my opinion. One addition i do like is the recent inclusion of numerous food truck vendors within the grounds of the MCP. Prior to their arrival the only food options were small bars within the Ontario Place (RIP) grounds and Pizza Pizza - yuck! Most recently the: Gourmet Gringos, Food Dudes, Smokes Poutinerie and a few others were on hand. Pro-tip - avoid the line ups for beer near the concessions, venture up to the lawns and buy two mega tall cans of your fave beer. Less line up and you can still watch the show from here. read more

This is my favorite venue in Toronto EVER. Too bad it's only around for half the year. Maybe it's being outdoors, maybe it's the nostalgia of going there...I'm not sure, but when I find out a show is going to be at the Amphitheatre I get excited. I've never had the misfortune of going to a concert on a rain day, so I'm not sure if that would change my mind. I probably wouldn't get lawn tickets to a show again either, but that's just personal preference. The lawn tickets are fine, you can see and hear everything, but to me it feels like I'm not "there"...but all the other seats are great. Even the 400 uncovered section isn't bad. The sound is great here too. I've once had the opportunity to sit in the VIP box section which is right behind the 200 section and it was magical...sightlines were perfect, AND you get your own personal waitress - I had a gourmet grilled cheese while watching Megadeth. Thrilling stuff. My one complaint was security...I was wearing a studded belt and bracelet (no points on any studs...they couldn't even pop a balloon), and I was told that I couldn't wear them into the venue. WTF? No studded accessories allowed...AT A METAL SHOW? How friggin ridiculous. Even more ridiculous were my options...I could either throw my stuff in a BUSH and hope they'd be there after the show, or get out of line and pay for a locker for my stuff. I opted for the bush. Miraculously, I got them back at the end, but not before worrying about getting them back throughout the whole show and being a little pissed off. I haven't been to the Amp in years. I was here for Pitbull and Ke$sha as well. I had lawn seating. Lawn seating is fab for concert, it reminds of the days with Wonderland used to have a concert series. A few people brought their own chairs. Lots of people were dancing. I'd forgotten how much I enjoy outdoor concerts. I brought a picnic blanket and was able to veg out on the lawn. We had a good view for the most part. Lots of people to watch! The concert itself was really fun. They started around 7 or a quarter after with the opening acts, and it ended around 10:45pm or so. Took the TTC there, the 511 streetcar takes you to Exhibition/Ontario Place. It was easy to get to. read more

Here to watch the Oddball Comedy Fest with Amy Schumer, Aziz Ansari and 8 other comedians. The show provided lots of good laughs (4stars for that). I was going to give this 2 stars, but really that was for the "draining experience" for attending a popular show on the last day of CNE!! If you are mentally prepared for the crowds, it's tolerable! I personally do not need to experience it again. The entire experience left me drained...crowds lining up getting into the amphitheatre, crowds in the amphitheater, crowds getting out of the amphitheater, crowds leaving the CNE grounds (we took the streetcar). However, this is a review about the venue, so I give it 3 stars. Learned some really important lessons from this visit that I'd like to share below. 1) Good thing we got row 100 seats (ground level seats / non VIP) so was allowed to enter through the VIP entrance (did not know prior to purchasing tickets). The queues for all the back rows were humongous! I would not have had patience to go through that. 2) The tickets say the show starts at 5.15pm but when you got there, the main acts do not start until 7.10pm! (The gates open at 4pm.). There were some side acts that started at 5.20pm but it was standing room only and so so so crowded you could hardly move or even see. And honestly, people were waiting for the main acts. 3) Once you pass the gates, there is NO RE-ENTRY!!! If we knew that, we would not have trapped ourselves with the 1000s of others inside the premise to be subjected to limited fast food & expensive drink choices. Would've definitely ate at a restaurant before entering. With 2 hours to bypass time, we stood in line for what we thought was the best food option: Rancho Relaco gourmet (Mexican) food truck. There was only one other truck: an ice cream one. Unlike other reviewers mentioning more truck options. The Amphitheatre had their own concession stands like pizza pizza, foot hotdogs, chicken tenders, beer/drinks ....etc. Rancho Relaxo was ok, it took us 45 min. to wait in line to get our burritos. The order taker was really awesome and friendly but we weren't really here for the food. Was forced in a way to try it because of the situation. Perhaps we will try their restaurant location if we are ever at College/Spadina. 4) purchase you tickets from credible sources. Eg. Ticketmaster. Finally when the gates opened, we were led to our seats and someone was already sitting there with exact seat numbers on their tickets!! They said they purchased their tickets from kijiji from someone who couldn't attend the show. We purchased ours from ticketmaster. We had the venue management look into it and the other couple got led out by security because we think they got scammed by someone selling fake tickets!! read more

If you are in T-dot in the summer with the opportunity to see your band at this outdoor venue, I highly suggest it. I was at the Molson Amphitheatre last summer (August 2010) for a Green Day show. A big part of the whole evening was the venue. Green Day put on a great show as expected, but it was a very different experience outside, right on the water. It was like being at a backyard party instead of a basement party. I sat in the 400 section and my expectations were exceeded. The view was great as were the acoustics. I will have to try the lawn seats - everyone up there were seemingly having a great time as well. I cannot recall whether the 400 section was covered seating, as the weather was perfect This place is a lot of fun - the atmosphere equaled pure summer enjoyment. The security for a concert was excessive as far as I am concerned. Perhaps management erred on the side of caution for a "punk" show. I was at a indoor Green Day show in Ottawa, and the security was MUCH more relaxed. Err on the safe side and come early. Came to this venue for Logics summer 2018 tour. Other than the bottleneck problem of trying to get into and out of the venue, there we not many issues. There was a good amount of food trucks there however prices for food and drinks were pricy. $5 for a bottle of water and $16 for a Budweiser. Came here to see The Weeknd during his King of the Fall tour with my girlfriend. The line was really long just to get checked by security. As you get inside, the amphitheatre is huge and there are tons of carts selling beer. Two Canadians for $30? Wow. The lawns would be nice in the summertime but we got seats a lot closer because, for one, we really love his music and because there was a chance of rain that night. As others have said, be prepared to miss some of the concert when you need to go to the bathroom, lineups and trying to get through the crowd is a pain. Overall, it was an amazing time except people with lawn seats actually tried taking empty seats that were closer to the stage a couple of times (happened when we went to the bathroom) but after you confront them they just move and find different empty seats. Other than that, it was an amazing experience and a must-do every year! read more

Absolutely the WORST place to try and hear music. The worst. I vowed last year after a couple of concerts to NEVER return. Totally forgot when I saw the Dixie Chicks were coming. Had pretty good seats but NO ONE is interested in watching or listening to the concert. Its one big party with everyone standing around talking. Hey, I'm all for a party but lets do BEFORE or AFTER the concert i've just paid over 200 bucks to listen to. Its almost as if because its an outdoor venue, its ok to chat. Note below as sent to the Customer Relations at Molsons: To whom it may concern, We needed to write to you about the concert we attended Wednesday night and let you know why we will not be attending your events in the future. Our tickets though not the best were first row in the 300 section next to an area were servers attended people in a cordoned off area. We were constantly being asked to leave our seats while people continued to get up to buy beer and subsequent trips to the washrooms. This was evident throughout the entire venue. The servers in the cordoned off area were inconsiderate and thought nothing of asking people for their orders while blocking our view. All these interruptions occurred while the performance was in progress. At one time when one of your guests took to laughing loudly to a story someone was telling him as he was standing in an aisle, in front of an usher, did the usher ask him to move on. The atmosphere was closer to what occurs during a baseball game, and then we are being generous, ushers at the Dome always ask people to wait between plays before returning to their seats. Peter Gabriel was great, it was too bad we could not enjoy the performance as it was made to be enjoyed, as we are sure we could have, for the some of the artists you have lined up for the rest of the summer. We hope to search out other forums to express our disappointment on how the amphitheatre fails its customers and performers for the sake of a few more beer sales. People who pay as much as we did for tickets should be able to listen and watch a show without being disturbed as we were on Wednesday night read more

The acoustics from the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre is not good. As well seats from 400 level are too far away. I was at the Veld, an outdoor music event in Downsview Park several weeks ago the sound is much better. It gets better at night time when it's dark and there is a light show. I wouldn't pay much to come back and you would need to get really good seats to see something decent. read more

The molson amp is the go to for outdoor concerts in Toronto. You can see any type of musician for a good price (generally) and you get great acoustics from being outdoors. This venue has interesting seating. There's the 100s, 200s, 300s, 400s and lawns. I've seen the floor open for GA standing and Also seen folding chairs as the "seats" in the 100s. One thing that I find keeps happening at the molson amp is they aren't selling enough tickets from events to open the lawns.. Lawns are great. There's no hard plastic seats, there's leg room, you can stretch out, and there's screens you can see the concert from. Plus lawn is always cheap. The prices of food and booze here is RIDICULOUS! Think movie theatre price X2! Regular bottle of pop $6.50 Tallboy can of beer $15. And you have to walk around without lids because apparently they are a "weapon." Usually there are a few popup food trucks you can choose from as well but again the prices are overpriced. The bathrooms here are ALWAYS disgusting. There is a private section for amex ticket upgraders. Basically $10 to have private bathrooms and private eateries. I have a love hate relationship with the molson amp, i love the outdoor concert experience and the lawns, the prices of food and drink are ridiculous. I have a confession to make: I've never been to the Molson Amphitheatre before. The last time I was technically here was when it was called the Ontario Place Forum! That was over 20 years ago... I came here recently for the Nas & Lauryn Hill show. The place was packed but it was so easy to navigate around the venue thanks to numerous large aisles and seating. And each time I went to the washroom there was more than enough urinals to go around! We managed to get VIP tickets and got most of our drinks from an indoor section which had a nice vibe and service was nice and fast (and polite). I was drinking 750ml cans of Coors Light -- not my top choice but I liked the idea of having a lot of beer at a time to avoid potential line-ups -- and they cost an outstanding 15 dollars each! That's about a 400% mark-up (which shouldn't be too surprising ) but it would be nice if the company that owned the venue AND the beer would cut us a damn break! The sound seemed pretty massive and clear enough for my liking. Solid big screens on either side for those in the back... We had seats but I have to admit sitting on the lawn with a nice blanket would be a really great way to see a show. If you don't care about distance from the stage then it seems like there's not really a bad seat in the house. I don't usually go to shows that are of a magnitude to warrant the Molson Amphitheatre but now it's good to know what to expect next time I come. I love concerts at this venue. Nothing better than seeing a band live and being outside. It's a much better experience in my opinion. I usually attend about 5 - 8 concerts here every year and never had a bad experience. I never sat in "the grass" section so don't know what the sound / view is like from there. You can see the stage well and the sound is always good. On the down side - food options are limited if you get the munchies and Beer line ups can be long. read more

I love this venue for concerts!! It's by far my favourite. There's nothing better than sitting on the grass on a nice day and listening to your favourite bands! It's pretty small but because it's all outside and open you never feel squished. The acoustics are not the best, but the best part of here is that nowhere is a bad seat or spot to watch a concert you pretty much always have a great view.. I came here last Tuesday, August 9th to see the Goo Goo Dolls play with Collective Soul & Tribe Society. This is the second time I've ever been here to see this particular band play, and I have had great seats so far; I've been able to see the band without that much of a destructive view, but you do have that odd person who will be taller than you and block part of your view. When I arrived at the venue, I had won a meet and greet to meet my favourite band, and the email I received had told me to go right to Will Call/Box Office to pick up my pass. I arrived before 6:00pm as the email had stated and the crew behind the window looked lost and confused as to what I was asking, and had no idea where I had to meet to get these, until 10 minutes before the doors opened, someone finally got some information about these meet and greet passes. Walking in, you can see they already have drink stands, and people ready for you to purchase their beverages as you walk in, as well the three food trucks that we're in the venue as well. Mind you, be aware that the drinks and food available are super expensive and I paid $3 for a bottle of water that was half the size of a 500ml bottle of water. Not worth it, unless you have to. You can eat out at a restaurant and pay the same price but get a lot more food. The seating itself was great, I had gotten tickets in the front section on the left hand side and I was right by the speakers, although it was loud I was happy with my seats, but they we're expensive, but not the most expensive ones. I missed the first band that came on because I was waiting for my meet and greet. Meeting the the band was amazing! It was the best part of the whole concert. When the Goo Goo Dolls did come on, they rocked out and I had moved up slightly from where I was sitting because others were going up to the rail and I had wanted to get closer too. They played a whole bunch of amazing songs by the end of it, my feet hurt, I was sweaty all over but the whole experience was amazing! In conclusion, if the cost of food and drinks were reasonable, or at least a decent size for what I'm paying for, I would have given this venue an extra star. But I can see myself coming back for concerts here. Just make sure that you take another form of transportation besides your own vehicle; parking is limited. read more

The Molson Amphtheatre is a part of the reason I love Toronto, especially Toronto in the Summer. I love going to this venue to see a show. I can even get over the ridiculous price of beer (and crap beer at that) because the vibe there is just so inviting. I loved watching the Beach Boys the other night there. The venue allowed for perhaps dated sounding band, to sound great. There were planes taking off from Porter which gave me the mind set of an escape within the city. My love for this venue though extends far beyond the sound and the atmosphere, I also love the lawn. There's nothing better than bringing a blanket and sitting under the stars, listening to a wide range of artists. From Journey to Radiohead to The Beach Boys to The Killers to Kanye West, I have seen so many amazing shows at this venue. My only disappointment now is that when I head into the entrance, the cemetery of Ontario Place lingers to the left and reminds me of another great place who's doors have closed. read more

My husband treated us to a concert here for our anniversary, it was my first time at the Molson Ampitheatre and what can I say "wow", I was blown away. There were a ton of food vendors to choose from, you deffinately didn't have to worry about going hungry but the drinks were a bit on the expensive side. The concert itself was amazing, the sound was incredible, do be prepared to miss some of the concert if you have to use the washroom, it's a very long lineup. If stay to the end of the conert be prepared for the slow, very crowded exit from the venue, but oh so worth it. read more

I went here first time for the Death Cab for the Cutie concert. the venue is huuuuge! and the best part is that the visibility and sound is great from any part of the theatre. the grass part might be a bit too far behind but if it's cheap and you don't mind not seeing performeers' faces it's still good. seats at the very back are not covered with the roof so not sure if it extends during rainy weather or not but it might get wet back there otherwise. annoying part is that you can't take drinks with you to the floor next to the stage. read more

Solid place to see a show in Toronto. It fits almost as many people as the ACC (16,000 according to Wikipedia) but feels way less stuffy and corporate, despite the name. Make friends on the lawn and just enjoy the music while looking over the Toronto skyline. I'm also impressed with the food options they've been bringing in lately. Last night (July 2012) they had three food trucks (Blue Donkey, Gourmet Bitches, and Caplansky's) as well as the usual staples. I just say NKOTB!!! Hah.. tickets were only 20$ and it was an awesome show! Positives: -cheap tix on the grass- bring a blanket and it is VERYVERY nice sitting on the backlot on the grass in the summer (I would even prefer it to the pricier tickets up front) -washrooms are surprisingly clean at the end of the night with staff ensuring stalls are more or less clean. -Great access to food/drinks Negatives: -the walk from the TTC to the theatre kind of sucks. And the walk from the theatre back to the TTC sucks doubley. so crowded and so far. Drive there. -you can't being food in! I really should have known this, but it was a real downer when I had to either shove the jumbo 4 pack twix down my throat or throw it out. I ate two and stuck the other in my pocket, but man.. I really didn't want to eat that two right then and there. -I'm assumng only B-rated shows get played here. That might be a negative for you, but meh.. this is really a moot point for me. Always make it a point to go to at least one concert here in the summer. Its very lively and even with Lawn seats you can see the whole stage! Only downside is that the back half seats are not covered so not so great if it rains. That being said I have attended concerts in the rain here and its still great regardless. Only downside is actually returning from the concert if you live in the GTA, Go train has more regular hours now so its a bit easier since Its right next to exhibition go station. Just left the concert, it was a wonderful concert. However, I was completely shocked at the staff. First, when I entered I was told to leave my water bottle at the front because it's metal. That being said I brought the water bottle to REFILL. Instead they'd rather you pay 5 dollars for a plastic water bottle. So I left it, as I was asking how they keep track of them I was brushed along in the line. The security guards seem to have no issue screaming at a man for smoking but if a female was its a invitation to flirt. I wish the venue could have matched the great concert, but I was left with a stolen water bottle and no explanation. I will not be coming back any time soon. read more

Poorly designed. The seating area is way too wide for the stage. If you sit in any of the sections along the sides of the amphitheater the sound is terrible because the hanging speaker stacks fire straight forward and don't even hit the outer sections at all. Your enjoyable musical sounds are further blocked along the edges by poorly placed screens that hang in a way that cuts off more sound. Keep this in mind when booking seats. We left our seats halfway through the show to try and find better sound on the lawn which did offer an improvement however the lawn area is treacherously steep and we saw several people awkwardly fall forward into the people in front of them. Leaving the show takes forever and was a real ordeal as the entire crowd is uncomfortably forced through a narrow bottle neck near the front gate that would be certainly dangerous in the event of a panicked emergency exit. Add on the $11 tall cans of warm beer and its safe to say that this is a pretty lame out door concert venue. Tip: Bring a sweater. It gets chilly near the lake even in the summer. read more

Been here twice for the BSB concert - the first time I was 18, the second time, 10 years later! Always a great time, you can see the whole stage from pretty much anywhere. Loved the crowd and was able to get up and dance during the whole concert. Getting home was a different story - it was difficult hailing a cab. The first cab requested a minimum of $50 (it was an $8 cab ride from my condo). All other cabs after wanted at least a $20 minimum. We almost ended up walked home from the venue. I think this is a really cool place to see a concert. The place is huge, the sound is good, the "lawn seating" is inexpensive and a fun place to hang out, and there are plenty of options for food and drinks. I know some people are not happy with the prices of the beer, etc, but if you are going to a concert, you should expect to pay a few extra dollars for a beer than you would at a pub. The location is unfortunately in an inconvenient area of downtown, but at least it's still downtown. Besides, it's a beautiful place to spend a summer's evening listening to some tunes. read more
