Location is 10/10, right by Union Statio so it's convenient. Ushers are super helpful and nice Very clean professional and sound systems are nice ! Amazing venue !

I came here for the Lord of the Rings show. The show itself was fine, but my experience with the venue was negative. Most disappointing is the fact that there's not enough bathrooms for the audience. Lineups for both men's and women's bathrooms were incredibly long, causing people to be late to the show and after intermission. There also wasn't enough concessions support, which led to the same problem. Lastly, I feel that the ushers could direct people to their seats so that late comers don't struggle in the dark and interrupt the experience for everyone else.

The location is good. Little walk from Union station or king station. There is face painting, coloring activities, and a special pre-show chat with Frozen composer, Christophe Beck. I have so much fun in the performance. I really enjoyed and have an amazing experience.

This was my first time attending an event at this theatre, and my seat was in Orchestra 3, row CC on the left side. I thought the seats were comfortable and there are cup holders for your drink, which is always a plus. I was there to see Jim Jeffries. My seat was close enough that I was literally about 10-12 feet away from him for a good part of the show as he walked back and forth from side to side as he talked. I don't know how I'd rate the theater if I was sitting near the back, but from where I sat, it was great. I wish I could have taken a photo, but it was prohibited at this show. Oh well. The downside was the line to get into the theater. There was only one entrance and it was moving ever so slowly. I didn't purchase any drinks, as the line was too long, but it's nice that you can take your drink in with you. Security check was quick and painless, and staff were quite friendly. I'd love to see a concert here.

Came for the Dora awards. Easily accessible with union station close by and many parking lots close by. Large open theatre with 2 bars on main level. Washrooms on lower level. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable seats with cup holders (yay!). Great venue to watch a show. I sat in left orchestra and the view was fine.

Been here many times for different types of concerts/shows. I love the seating here, super comfortable and just enough space... but can see how it might be different for tall people that require more leg room. I've never been on the top floor yet so I can't judge their view... But the view on the bottom no matter where I sat is good! The only thing I dislike about this place is the lack of female washrooms... The location of the washrooms and how expensive anything is! (I don't mean the merch for the show)

Absolutely amazing experience coming in to see a comedy show at this venue. I unfortunately needed accommodations as I was recently put into a wheelchair, I was answered after multiple phone calls from the box office, and they share with other venues, and once connected everybody was absolutely pleasant to deal with. Everyone was extremely prompt letting me know my options, and as well completely fixing The problem I had with my current tickets. On the night of the show, the ushers were able to notice my wheelchair and were able to get me in sooner to then get me seated or give me extra time if I needed for beverages or the washroom, overall great experience and show. Do not have any worry if needing extra information or guidance with regards to this venue. Someone will be able to answer!

This theatre is quite good. I was here last weekend for Shen Yun and although I didn't care much for the production, the seating was great and they had a nice elevation. We were in the centre orchestra section so you'd be hard-pressed not to have a good seat. The Sony Centre is easy to get to with ample parking and restaurants close by. I would definitely come here to see another performance.

The last time I was at this venue was back in 2006. It was called Hummingbird Centre. It's now the Sony Centre with a few more words behind it! Back in 2006, I noticed that Pet Shop Boys were playing. I didn't know that the duo was releasing new material and decided to give the Fundamental tour a shot. I became a huge fan! Since then, I have seen many of PSB's shows, but bit in Toronto. Last night was my return. Sony Centre has excellent acoustics. All that wood inside helps! The restrooms are clean, and there are plenty of areas to buy a drink or many. The merchandise area is set up well. There are also additional staff selling tour books away from the main merchandise area. The show was amazing! So much energy. The sound was perfect. It was loud, but expected. I can see why the place offered earplugs for $5! There are drink holders in front. It held my cell phone just fine. Excellent venue. I parked across the street for $20. It was a flat fee. Credit cards with a chip are accepted only. Staff were helpful. (217)

This ALWAYS happens to me. Luckily, my bf traded seats with me!

Location is good 'cause as it's steps away from Union Station. No contest there. However, what is lacking are screens on either side of the stage for people on the Balcony. Prince was the size of a Lego figurine. I know the dude's short, but can we not have some sort of technology to project his face so we can actually SEE him??!! Very old school. I'm not a sound expert, but I don't think this place has the best acoustics. Very loud at times, but not entirely clear. Again, I'm not an expert in the field, so I'm just going by my concert-going experience. The Orchestra was general admission, re: you hafta stand, but I am not paying a premium to 1) stand and 2) just have some towering monstrosity of a human being stand directly in front of me...after I've paid the big bucks. Geez, I have enough probs with attracting #bigheads who inevitably sit directly in front of me! So depending on what kind of performance, I think your experience here will vary. I would NEVER see a ballet here, but a concert might be o-k. Parking was ridiculously expensive at over $20, but then again, look at the area we're in.

As someone from out of town who enjoys theatre, I visit Toronto often to see relatives, and when I…read moredo, I always look to see what Mirvish productions are showing downtown. For some reason, I always seem to be drawn to the Royal Alexandra Theatre as four different productions I have seen in the last few years have all been there. From the physical layout of the theatre to the customer service of the staff, I have enjoyed my all around experience during each visit. I have been to the theatre with colleagues during a conference, with my sister, and with other family members over the last several years. I have sat in the balcony, front couple of rows, and further back in orchestra before, and every seat seems to be good. I often take advantage of the American Express reserved seat program to purchase a great seat not too far in advance once I have details of my travels. I have been completely satisfied with my experiences at the shows there! The Royal Alexandra Theatre is a Canadian historic landmark as the oldest continuously operating legitimate theatre in North America and the continent's first truly "royal" theatre, granted official letters patent by Edward VII entitling it to the royal designation, along with his permission to name it after his consort, Alexandra. It was built in 1907 and was Toronto's first steel-framed structure, one of the first air-conditioned buildings in the continent, and the first theatre to be considered fireproof. The Royal Alexandra Theatre is one of four theatres that is run by Mirvish. The facility is mask-friendly but by no means required. There are concessions and a coat check. It is generally accepted to arrive approximately 30 minutes before a show. If you arrive late, you may need to wait until an appropriate break in the show for you to go to your seat and not disturb other patrons. Mirvish Productions is Canada's largest commercial theatre production company. You can learn more about Mirvish and this theatre at https://www.mirvish.com. After all, it was Ed Mirvish who in 1963 purchased and saved the Royal Alexandra Theatre from demolition. I certainly recommend a Mirvish show in the Royal Alexandra Theatre for someone who enjoys theatre!

We arrived about half an hour early after stopping at Lake Effect for scoops. Who needs dinner and a show when tummy ice cream is involved? The theater also sells snacks as food and drinks from the outside are banned. We were greeted outside by a dapper gentleman who held the door for us to get into the lobby. Unlike other theaters, there was elbow room to have them check out printed tickets and make conversation about the show. Others had digital tickets that seemed to work as well. We popped into the loo, which thankfully had multiple stalls, hardly any wait and was fully stocked with soap and towels. There were people selling souvenir toys and raffle tickets that we bypassed to find our seats. The playbill girl gave us a rough estimate of where we would be located. Thankfully everything is clearly labeled as to not get lost. For a mere 40 each, after fees, we were five rows back, centered. The view was clear, the sound was clear and the leg room- my gosh. For the first time in a long time a theater had room for me to stretch my legs a bit instead of cramming in more seats. The view is historically gorgeous in architecture and paint. Though we were there to experience the show, not just a building. The show started on time, held a brief intermission and concluded in about two hours. During that time, we got wowed by talented singers, very acrobatic dancers and mostly talented actors. (There was one that we would have probably chosen a different person to portray the roll, but I'm not going to crush a child's dreams when they did adequately. And others filled their rolls amazingly so I'm chalking it up to personal preference.) The costumes are well constructed without being extravagant. Tiny shorts cover any areas that would make this child friendly show receive an R rating. At the end, after all the standing ovations, we were able to exit with ease and get back to the car, parked at no cost in a nearby lot. Beat that Buffalo parking. Extra shout-out to whoever put the dual drummers in the loge to let us see the masterminds at work. They were the heartbeat of the show for me!

In the downstairs restaurant, we were greeted by the host, and seated by a young man named Justin. Justin didn't speak much, but he and the other younger staff members took our plates whenever they were dirty. You get up to get your water yourself, and also have the option of ordering soft drinks and alcohol. After pouring myself a glass of water, I went to the salad bar and basically picked a bit of whatever I saw. I was in new territory here... As in I saw a white onion and said "lychee!" and the customer in front of me corrected me that it was in fact, not lychee. I returned to my seat and enjoyed my salad. I noticed a line was forming for the buffet. This is apparently an old style buffet when you leave your seat to wait in line to be served. I've never encountered a buffet like this...usually I go to self-serve buffets. Anyway, I waited about 10 minutes when there were about 10 people in front of me. I think their menu changes from time to time, but boyyyy their raviolli was SO GOOD. I went back for seconds...and thirds. Their chicken was also very juicy. Everything else was above average. I just wanted to note the standout is definitely the ravioli. Get ittt. You also have your pick at unlimited dessert, which is a slice of pie or cake. The only con during my buffet experience is that I had to wait in line...too used to the grab n' go self-serve experience! You know dinner is about to end when the man playing the guitar starts singing. That gives you about 10-15 mins to finish your dinner or grab more food to finish. Once he's done, he'll tell you to make your way upstairs. Once upstairs, your group is assigned seats at random. Their staff member will tell you where you are. Once everyone was seated, the lights dimmed, and the play began. We watched Sylvia, which wasn't my cup of tea. I didn't enjoy it as much as my partner's parents did, but I can appreciate the story, acting, and overall effort the crew and cast put into the performance. Overall, I got a very "homey" experience here, despite coming here for the first time. I think the performances may be of more interest to older audiences, but it doesn't hurt to give Herongate a try.

The first two floors are dedicated to dinner seating, while the third floor hosts parties and gatherings. The space worked, but with the number of people invited, it felt a bit tight -- something to keep in mind for larger groups. The vibe was fantastic. Drinks were expertly crafted, the bartenders were attentive, and a DJ kept the energy flowing in the background. As the night progressed, everyone hit the dance floor, and the party truly came alive. Bathrooms were plentiful and well-maintained, and the thoughtful touch of wellness kits in the ladies' room added a hint of luxury. One minor hiccup was the coat check -- it was a bit congested and struggled to accommodate all the coats. But my biggest suggestion for improvement would be the addition of an elevator. Climbing three floors in heels and dresses proved challenging for many, and an elevator would make the space more accessible without taking away from its elegance. Overall, Storys Building delivers a lively, luxurious, and memorable party experience. I've been to other events where the coat check staff had lost my jacket, so the extra care on my belongings added to the positive experience. The staff there were pleasant and even remembered my face when I checked out my coat on the way out. The hors d'oeuvres were great, I enjoyed everything I tried, like the mini sliders, fried chicken, and bruschetta. We also had a taco station that was good too. I didn't expect any less since they are under the same hospitality group as Byblos and Patria, which I've dined at before and enjoyed. The biggest plus is the location, at the heart of the Entertainment District. It's close to many offices and the Financial District. Our cocktail hour ended in 2hrs but there are plenty of bars nearby to extend the get together for another drink.
