Thankfully they were bought out by a Montessori school and were able to stay open. My son stayed there another year and had a great time. He would run right in and loved the teachers there. Even during COVID lockdown, I felt that they communicated the best they could. We are sad to be leaving but are moving away. I'm only giving it 4 stars because there were a few times that my son came back with scrapes and bites and there was no injury report. They did write one for bigger injuries (aka my son running head first into things cuz you know... toddlers). Also I would have liked there to be an online payment system. I would definitely send my son there if we end up living closer again.

They always just sat and watched them play never interacted with them. They try to boss you around with when to bring them when it's not school. It's DAYCARE. my kid would cry in the in the morning when dropped off and they would tell me to leave him on the floor. They wouldn't even give the kids a hug to make them feel better. Doesn't seem like a place that is there for the kids sake. I didn't even realize how bad it was till we found a place that is so loving and caring and actually teaches the kids and interacts with them.

The teachers are always there to discuss how her day went and responsive if I have a question on the chat to them during the day. She loves all the outdoor time and has been making and maintaining close friendships since she arrived. The school let me throw a foam party for the kids for my daughter's birthday. The teachers organised it, notified the parents, managed clean up. Simply because they knew the kids would love it. They accomodate my requests for her food and keep special treats seperate as I am specific about what she eats. The teachers do things weekly not just for $$ but because the kids will adore it. It's all so very fun and wonderful, growing caterpillars, learning about dinosaurs and the world, planting things and trying science experiments. The experiences kids should have. We love, love, love El Camino and as she is going to Kinder soon we are sad to have to leave. I trust the teachers completely and have a happy daughter coming home everyday. His first teacher was great and handled any moments when he got upset, using helpful strategies to calm him. Now, at four years old, he moved up to a new class with most of the same classmates, but the new teacher has struggled to manage his behavior. Instead of looking into what might be causing issues, the school blamed my son, even though I had received reports that other children were upsetting him. The director supported the teachers and continued to place the blame on my son, despite behavioral health therapists saying he seemed well behaved. No one addressed the possibility that other kids might be involved, and I never received any reports about issues between my son and other children. Additionally, the new teacher was rude to my daughter when she picked up my son, which made it clear that she didn't like him. I often felt that the kids were unsupervised, especially since I saw other reviews mentioning that teachers spent time on their phones instead of watching the students. Whenever my son had a fit, the teacher would say, "I didn't see what happened before," which only reinforced my concerns. The school recently let teachers go because they couldn't keep enrollment up, and there have been incidents where teachers lost track of kids during fire drills. I recommend looking elsewhere.

Our girl was Speech delayed, which is overwhelming as a parent. The staff not only helped our daughter with developing her Speech, we were guided toward a tutor that added the extra support she needed. Now our daughter narrates our lives, tells us stories and recounts her day to us with great detail- her voice is the most beautiful thing we've ever heard and we are grateful to the staff at Crayon Cove for their support and care that helped give our daughter her voice. The school is safe and clean. The staff are knowledgeable and caring. The children are given wonderful meals and snacks. There are always activities that involve the families so we get to really enjoy the school experience with our daughter. We remember the apprehension of the thought of leaving our daughter anywhere but from day one we were comfortable at this preschool. The beginning is always tough, the child doesn't want to separate from the parent and vice versa, but the staff always made us and our daughter feel safe and loved and there was zero parent shaming for being a working parent. The education our daughter has receieved always amazes us. She has a command of fundamental language and math skills while fostering her creativity and wonder. We have been going here since our daughter was two years old and now she'll get graduating and heading to kindergarten as a strong, thoughtful and prepared little lady and we have the staff at Crayon Cove to thank.

They helped us discover our first child's love for sports and babies, and they are currently helping our second child thrive while learning multiple languages! The growth we have seen in them as a result has been incredible! I always stay for a while and watch to see interactions my son has, and I'm always blown away by how great the teachers are with these children. They have gone above and beyond, and I continue to be surprised and thankful each year that they run their school the way they do. I have to drive a ways to get there, but moving to a closer preschool is not an option. We trust these people with our children's lives each day, and I know they're learning and growing and are safe here. We love it!

I am so glad we decided to send her to daycare instead because I can tell she has really thrived. She has learned many songs, words, manners, and to clean up her toys! The amount she has learned from being around other children is invaluable. She is only a young toddler, but when she gets home from school she excitedly tells me her friends names, or sometimes shows off art projects she made. It makes me feel good that I know she is somewhere that makes her happy and she is also learning. Not sure about the guy with the lead post below, and I honestly panicked a bit after seeing that. I did some research and looks like that was one faucet in the whole building, it has been placed out of order since finding that out, kids have a different water source now, and there is a new director since then. I have no concerns about my daughters safety while she is there. I fully trust the staff with my child's needs. It is conveniently located on almost the border of Vista and Oceanside, which works great for us.
