If you're looking to learn joint locks, this is one of the best places to go in the area. Michael Seamark Kyoshi is one of the most proficient joint lock masters I've ever met in any style of Jujutsu. That being said, do not walk in there expecting to master this art in a few months. Joint locks are still a fine motor skill, and it takes a lot of training to be able to use them practically in self defense situations. Seamark Kyoshi does, however, have efficient teaching methods for imparting this knowledge and a friendly, welcoming training atmosphere. He also offers training in law enforcement oriented techniques, being an Advanced Security Training instructor with years of experience as a security professional. In addition to having some of the most painful joint locking techniques I've ever experienced, Seamark Kyoshi is also a skilled shiatsu practitioner, with training in the art a requirement at the higher levels of the style of KoKoDo Jujutsu. Under his skilled hands I have personally received treatment which accelerated the healing of a muscle pull I had. I have never tried the yoga at this school, taught by Diane Seamark, but I have heard good things about it.

Under the guidance Michael Seamark Kyoshi this place offers practical martial arts in a safe environment free from ego and aggression, and allows people from all walks of life to walk the path of budo. I have practiced martial arts for 30 years or so and Michael Seamark Kyoshi is not only one of the most talented martial artists I have encountered but also has the ability and charisma to translate that talent to be an amazing teacher.

I was a student at Master Gee's a number of years ago, and I wouldn't hesitate for a second to…read morerecommend this school to anyone thinking about putting themselves or their children through martial arts training. Master Gee's is run by Master and Mrs Gee, a husband-and-wife team that do most of the teaching at the school. They are truly inspirational people -a compliment which I don't give out lightly. They care very much about their students, and anyone would be lucky to have them as a mentor. Even though it's been several years since I was a student here and I no longer live in the neighbourhood, I still think very highly of them and I mention this school to people thinking of studying the martial arts. Master Gee's has an excellent program for kids, and not only do they teach martial arts/self-defense, but they teach core values such as respect, self-discipline and thoughtfulness. This doesn't end with the kids program, though. I started as a white belt in my early 20's, and their adults program teaches the same core values. During this period in my life I was lacking self-confidence, and Master and Mrs Gee helped to instill this in me, along with physical fitness in a fun environment. For adults who fear they are "too old" to start, Master Gee's welcomes students of all ages. It's a very encouraging environment, and I recall people in my classes who were starting out well into their 40's, 50's and 60's. Being a blend of different martial arts styles, their training is very effective; a couple times each year they would have a guest ninjitsu grand-master come in from out of town to do seminars. I don't know if they still do this, but I'd encourage anyone to attend the seminars if they get the chance. I can't say enough good things about this school. If you're even thinking about putting yourself or someone else through martial arts training, I would encourage you to consider Master Gee's first.

When I refused to and wanted to quit I had to pay a 2000$ severance fee. Fast forward to grade 11, I was overweight so I went back and did the free trial just for cardio purposes. I told myself I wouldn't sign a contract again, so when I was presented with the usual contract I told them I would think about it. When my trial almost expired Master Gee came over and told me I needed to purchase gear again. I remember vividly to this day, that when I told him I wasn't going to continue, he had the nastiest grin on his face when he said "well you signed a contract didn't you?". I told him I didn't yet, his face turned blue and immediately stopped talking to me. There are numerous other issues such as hygiene and the lack of good instructors. Two very good instructors while I was there were let go in favor of his son and other inexperienced instructors taking over. Definitely looks elsewhere for recreational activities for your children. Do NOT sign any contracts and do business with this nasty man.

Pretty unsanitary facility, the water tastes like there's mold in the lines, the front desk staff are usually pretty good, but anybody operating the rest of their customer service issues are rude, unhelpful, and ultimately just want to charge you for any fee they can. The price is very high for what you're getting. The classic gym that just wants you to sign a contract, and then bill you any and every chance they get. Their system repeatedly said my payment had declined (spoke with Visa, they had no part in this, and I am never even close to my limit, nor do I have this experience with the other dozen auto payments I have on my card). Repeatedly tried to resolve this with them, to no avail. To cancel? More fees, late charges, and additional membership payments due to their "policies". If you want to hit some barbell movements during peak hours, it's an alright gym. If you want a remotely positive experience, in absolutely any way, do NOT go to this gym.
