I seriously couldn't ask for more. Give TJ Electric your business. You won't regret it. Now the long version: I got in touch with TJ Electric this past March to upgrade my electrical service from 100 amps to 200 amps. They did a great job for a really great price. TJ Electric did it for 500 less than my "previous electrician" would do it for. (My previous electrician also never showed up in person to any jobs... he just sent his technicians who wired my 240V pool heater backwards and fried the circuit board. Needless to say, I will be using TJ Electric from now on, instead of the "previous" guy.) I did a lot of research on the technical details of my service upgrade before searching for an electrician. I had a spreadsheet with all the material costs of every component that was needed for the upgrade. Based on the number of hours worked, I can tell you that their labor rates are VERY competitive. The guy who came out was Joe Howard. Very nice guy. Seems really knowledgeable. He even gets his hair cut at the same place as me. A couple months ago I was getting my hair cut and I look over and randomly see a TJ Electric business card. I said to the barber "hey I know that guy! He upgraded my electric". The barber said "yeah he comes in here and gets his hair cut. Really good guy." Also working at TJ Electric is someone named Terri. I wonder if "TJ" stands for "Terri & Joe". When I initially emailed TJ electric, Joe called me back on the same day to discuss the project. I was able to text him some photos of the work site which helped him to write up his work proposal. Joe was also really good at texting me to coordinate what day and time to come over. I think an electrician who can use texts is very convenient. He came over in person to check out the work site, to take measurements, and to verify all the details of the job. On the day before the upgrade, he and two technicians came over for a couple hours to do some prep work. (Upgrading your electric service is a big deal.) When the big day finally came, he and his technicians arrived promptly in the morning and worked all day, only stopping for a lunch break. They were very grateful for some ice tea I brought out to them. At the end of the day, my new 200 amp service was up and running. Everything passed inspection and It's been 3 months and there has been no problems whatsoever. I am super happy with everything from start to finish. Anyway in summary, TJ Electric is great and if you need a job done, you should call them up or send them an email.

They were just here recently to handle about 5-6 items that had been accumulating on my to-do list and didn't disappoint. I've used them to install outlets and ceiling fixtures, diagnose & fix a problem with a chandelier (switch needed replacement), replace 2 fixtures flanking the front door and one over the garage, discuss outdoor lighting for security purposes and install a motion sensor over the garage (they had the fixture on hand). My husband also wanted heating in a tiny, frigid bathroom we had. He brought in an electrician who recommended installing a small baseboard heater for $300. I knew the bathroom was too small even for that. I went over this with Fralley the last time they were here, and they explained that, in addition, a baseboard heater would rust within a year (we have a steam boiler which doesn't really go with baseboard heaters anyway, although a prior owner put some in the house). One of the techs went out to pick up a fixture that would work and they installed it as soon as he returned. It's a ceiling fan with light and an option to make the fan distribute warm air without having to replace the switches. As I already knew, there wasn't enough power to support a heater in that part of the house, and they added a circuit (or whatever it is). These fixtures use a lot of power, and the one they installed is energy-efficient, which was a nice bonus. Last, one day a branch from a tree on our property fell onto a power line and caused the cable to detach from a neighbor's house, which disconnected her from the grid. Scott helped me immediately, first explaining whether or not we had to call the power company or fire department. A couple of techs came out right away and reattached the cable to my neighbor's house. I paid for it, of course, and the price was much lower than I expected--not that I had any idea how much these things cost. I wouldn't use any other electrician.

Two of the detectors also cover carbon monoxide. He was pleasant, easy to communicate with and efficient in his work. We feel this gives us peace of mind and security having this job completed.
