Review #471 - First To Tip (11/20/2023)…read more April 30, 2024 = Tuesday After moving in My new House in September 1992, there was a Stinky Smelly Bradford Pear tree it was called that was showing signs of distress with bugs on the bark and branches. I called Mike after viewing his detailed advertisement in a home improvement business magazine. I was pleased when he checked it over and gave me a good estimate price to remove the tree on my front lawn property that had a bug disease and was not treatable. His crew completed the tree removal along with stump grind. They cleaned up in a professional and through way. History: This Tree Business started back in 1978 after Mike worked for Detroit Edison trimming trees. Since 1989 till the Fall of 2023 there's been a 35 year old Silver Maple Tree in the backyard of another house which now is empty. In the past years the tree has grown Tall and over grown with roots under the fence into my yard (besides two other neighbors) I offered to trim or removal the whole tree price not an option back in 2004 but the previous neighbors owning the tree on the easement said no. A radius of four residential houses still deals with Spring, Summer and Fall Issues because of this old tree. A family of squirrels lives in a rotted area in the lower section of it too now. In the Summer of 2023 I contacted the Macomb Township Offices and had a representative come out to My home to look, inspect and give Me an option on this tree causing problems in my yard and pool liner. He could only assist by suggesting to remove the sections that are hanging over in my yard of my property and of course the pool. I called Mike as a previous customer and he stopped over with a good price including clean up and shredding the thick and other branches after trim. The crew of 6 guys arrived on time in the brisk cold temp before Thanksgiving to get the job done. They were careful, efficient, and organized from start to finish with cleanup in two yards too. Time will tell when the pool is open May 10th and when Summer arrives to hope that more Sun will shine more in My pool instead of being in the shade 3 hours covering from the old Silver Maple Tree. Also In a rain and wind storm this tree will bend plus if ice forms in the winter. I'm still worried about My house and if this tree comes down due to weather conditions! I called a couple of other services, but when I called Nick and saw what others had said, well I knew this was the guy to trust. Honest, to the point of what needs to happen, realistic about the process. No BS. When he came out to provide an estimate, he also noticed lightning and internal pest damage in two of the other trees. No pressure, just the fact that they were going to deteriorate faster than they should. Having tree tags I checked with the city to assure they were OK to take down. After they came out (thank you) I got the 2nd opinion. Definitely not imminent, but they also saw and agreed there was trouble sometime in the future. Called Nick and got it rolling. As the trees are in the backyard, each being 100-120ft tall and 90in circumferences, a bucket truck would be needed. Nick advises we should wait until the ground dries enough. So as soon as that occurred, he checked in during interim to make sure it was good to go, which turned out to be May 8th. They showed up at 8 as promised, and with a crew of three took out 40000 lb and a full truck of chippings by 8pm. Cleaning up so as it didn't even look like there were three trees that morning. They also took out three big pines for the neighbor during the day, grinding all 6 stumps as well. Great team, great pricing, professional, hard working. Will undeniably use them again and full heartedly recommend.
