R&R Roadside Assistance - Chevy Avalanche Tow

    R&R Roadside Assistance

This Business Deserves Five Golden Stars!!!…read more Exactly two weeks ago, I used Yelp to find roadside assistance for a vehicle lockout, and I'm so glad I found R & R Roadside Assistance! I had the keys to my car but had accidentally locked a steering wheel safety device on it while parked on a side street near my job, deep in St. Louis City. Brandon from R & R immediately responded to my request via Yelp and text, giving me a quick quote and reassuring me that he could help. He arrived in under 40 minutes and solved my problem with ease! He even recommended I find a towel or sheet to catch any debris from the job, which showed how thoughtful and thorough he was. Fast forward to today: I get word that a neighbor locked her keys, phone, and pet inside her car. I didn't hesitate and reached out to Brandon again. Though I wasn't the point person on the ground this time, I let him know someone else would contact him with the details, and Brandon made it clear he was on his way to St. Louis County. True to form, he arrived in under 40 minutes and saved the day once again! What really stands out about Brandon is not just his skill, but his personality. He's funny, friendly, and extremely careful and respectful of the vehicles he works on. R & R Roadside Assistance has impressed us at every turn, providing nothing short of white glove service. I highly recommend R & R Roadside Assistance and Brandon to the entire Yelp Community!

My recommendation would be Mid-America Collision. I used them previously and they were fantastic. I wish I would have used them for my most recent repair needs. Lengthy details to follow... In mid-December, I obtained estimates from 3 auto body repair shops along the North Service Road in St. Peters. Schaefer and Mid-America Collision were within $40 of one another, while the third shop was $1k less, which I found suspect. I chose Schaefer simply because they are a half mile closer to my house. The estimate indicated the repair should take 15 days. 1st lack of communication - I was not informed that the 15 day estimate does not include part acquisition, and parts aren't ordered until your vehicle is dropped off. A week after I dropped off my vehicle, I sent an email requesting status as the Carwise app continued to indicate "Pending" as the estimated completion date. I received an email response that the needed part had been "mispackaged" and they had to order another. On January 6th, I received an email that the part had arrived and my projected completion date would be mid to late the following week. Meanwhile, the Carwise app sent a notice that my vehicle was on track to be completed January 16th. On the 16th, I was expecting to pick up my vehicle, however since I hadn't heard from Schaefer I decided to call them at noon that day to confirm that the car was completed. During the call, which I initiated, I was informed my vehicle repairs were being delayed due to another vehicle taking longer than expected. I was informed the completion date for my vehicle was delayed until January 23rd. The Carwise app sent a notice on January 19th that my vehicle was on track to be completed January 23rd. On the 23rd, I was expecting to pick up my vehicle. Once again, I had not heard from Schaefer, so I called them at 10AM that morning and was informed that my vehicle still needed to undergo calibration at an off-site facility, and completion of my vehicle would be delayed for another in-determinant amount of time. Finally, at 5PM on January 26th, I received a call that my vehicle was complete and could be picked up anytime the next day. When I went to pick up my vehicle, the repair bill was nearly $800 higher than the estimate. The overage was due to the cost of calibration and towing to the calibration facility. Schaefer knew that my vehicle would need calibration, however the cost of the calibration and towing was not included in the estimate. While the need for calibration was mentioned during the estimating period, there was no mention of this additional cost. IMO - This was quite deceptive. Upon receipt of the vehicle, the interior roof liner had not been cleaned. Therefore, we had to return the vehicle to the repair shop for inner roof cleaning. This repair work was paid out of pocket (did not go through insurance), which also meant no rental car. My wife and I had to schedule around 1 vehicle for the duration of this repair activity, which made the uninformed delays even worse. When I discussed the inconvenience with the shop manager, he apologized, but an apology in no way helped my situation. There was no offer to make it right. Anyway, that was lot and details matter. This is why I encourage anyone looking for shop to go elsewhere. Schaefer may do adequate repair work, but why deal with the headaches.

They sent some incompetent driver to my home to tow my car, he arrived at 923am-had no clue how to tow a car! Ripped the side of my bumper off, had to call another driver to help him get the car on the truck (his name is Timothy). Then to add insult to injury, when he finally got my car to the Shop, he was aggressively shaking my car on the flat bed-so much that the mechanic came out and stopped him. Then my husband said if you damage my car, I'm going to sue you. Apparently he perceived this at a threat, called the owner of the shop and the police-because my husband threatened him. He refused to take my car off the flat bed, and blocked the business for over 30 minutes with his childish banter! After 2 hours and 20 minutes, my car finally made it to the Repair Shop. This place is a joke!

I reached out to D & L Towing Services to perform the services of my vehicle being towed. D & L Towing Services picked up my vehicle on Saturday, January 12th from my house and dropped it off at the dealership. On Monday morning, January 14th the dealership's mechanic pulled the car out, which was parked directly against a large snow pile on the parking lot that was plowed from the several inches of snow that fell on Friday night. When the mechanic pulled the vehicle out of the parking spot, the front bumper was torn off due to the impact of the vehicle being removed from the tow truck and slammed into the snow plow. Attached are the pictures of the vehicle leaving my house in good/fair condition with the bumper perfectly intact, as well as the pictures of the bumper torn off at the dealership after being handled by D & L Towing Services. In initial conversations with D & L Towing Services Manager, Chris Hollenberg; he took accountability for the damage done and verbally indicated that they would get the vehicle fixed and was taking ownership of addressing the damage his driver did to my vehicle. Chris Hollenberg asked me to get a quote to access the damage. After I received a quote from the body shop, I shared the quote with Chris Hollenberg and he felt it was too high, which is where the conversations between us began to turn. Chris Hollenberg asked that I bring the vehicle to D & L Towing Services' shop (45 minutes away) as he felt one of their mechanics could fix it, which I did on Tuesday, January 15th after having the shift shaft repaired. The mechanic at D & L Towing Services reviewed the damage with me and stated that a body shop would need to handle the damage, and he would speak to Chris Hollenberg when he got back into the office on how he wanted to handle the situation. Chris Hollenberg spoke to his team and stated there was no damage underneath the bumper as a result of scraping the parking lot ground when unloading the vehicle and that there was no way the damage was caused by his team, but the damage was done when the driver at D & L Towing Services unloaded the vehicle right into the large snow plow. Chris Hollenberg reached out to me on Wednesday, January 23rd claiming that the damage to the vehicle was not due to their driver, and stated they would not fix the bumper as he previously committed to doing. In an attempt to reach out to D & L Towing Services' owner, there was no follow up. In several attempts in reaching out to Chris Hollenberg after his decision, there was no follow up. In summary, I would never recommend D & L Towing Services to anybody. D & L Towing Services lacks customer service and does not take accountability on a problem that was created by their employees. Good luck to anyone that decides to have D & L Towing Services tow your vehicle, because if there is one issue from the time they pick up your vehicle to the time they drop it off, the issue becomes your problem.
