I would not suggest renting from this establishment they are the ghetto in the suburbs.

The real problem is that the UHaul of Scotch Plains staff hid the damage from me and just expected that I wouldn't notice it. That kind of dishonestly and untrustworthy behavior means that anyone who does business at this location needs to watch everything the employees do and double check all of their work. There was an additional $26.50 in processing fees that Penske charged to send me this bill. All cars crossing the bridge got their licenes plates photographed. No EZ PASS scanning was done. If the car owner had an EZ Pass it was charged to the account, otherwise the bill was mailed directly to the car owner. I was in a rented truck so the bill went to Penske. They charged me almost 3 times the toll cost for their time to process this bill. There was nothing I could do to pay the toll while I was crossing, not even if I owned an EZ PASS myself. Thankfully, the location where I rented the truck gave me a credit for the "processing fee" so I got a partial refund when I paid the bill. They were terrific about it! They earned a star in this review for that. Penske Corp. needs to do better! EZ PASS has been here for quite a while yet they have done nothing to address tolls charged strictly by license plate photos. You need to know if the rental center will refund "processing fees" that are unjustly levied before you rent from them. Otherwise your overall cost can be significantly higher.

It said said I'd be able to add on insurance at the office. But the woman working there on June 7 told me they couldn't do that. You should call in advance about insurance. The car they rented me didn't have working AC, and it was a pretty hot weekend. But they have so few cars there that it didn't seem worth going back and asking for another.

This location was the ONLY one far enough from the airport to charge a lot less than the car rental places at Newark, and it's open on Sunday. The car I rented was great on gasoline and ran smoothly for the 2/12 weeks I had it. It was small enough to park almost anywhere and it fit my luggage and passengers well. I would highly recommend this business.
