Worst interaction/experience with an owner of a business I've ever had. The worst part is I had a gut feeling after reading the yelp reviews that I may regret it and even asked him a couple questions about his yelp reviews. The only response for every reply to the reviews and also what he replied to me when I asked is. "A+ better Business Bureau" , and I have no idea how that's the case with so many unhappy customers. I'm gonna try to make this is as short as possible just so people like me can look out before you waste your time. We scheduled a 5 PM appointment. He asked me for my last name, I asked him method of payments and he said cash or card with 5%. I said I wish you would have said something. I don't have time to go by the bank, even if it's a debit card? He replied "yes. 530." At 5:45 I text is there a new ETA? No reply, I called at 6:00 asked if there was a new ETA, and he told me he canceled the reservation because I didn't confirm the time change. And then that I told him "I couldn't afford it". I never said I could not afford it. I just would rather have paid cash. He said he waited 30 minutes for me to reply confirming the half hour time change. since I didn't reply, he canceled my reservation. Didn't call me or text me, just canceled. You get what you pay for, if they don't cancel your reservation without telling you. read more

Excellent experience! Steve came to my home, did a tour, and estimated 8.5 hours, 3 men, 1 26-ft truck for my move across the city. I didn't think it would take that long or need that big of a truck, but Steve was spot on - it took 8.25 hours and my stuff filled the whole truck! Pat, Ray, and Willie are efficient, professional, and personable. They are clearly experienced movers and a cohesive, hard-working team. Horrible and dishonest. Son smoked pot while loading truck. Truck leaked horribly and ruined much of our furniture, financial records, and belongings. Worst part was how much stuff never made it to our destination. Thousands of dollars worth of belongings gone or ruined. No inventory taken so no record of loss. Run away from these folks! BAIT & SWITCH When I called to set up the move I said it was a 3-bedroom house and was told it'd be 3 men at $199/hr min 3 hours ($600). Instead 2 guys show up with a U-Haul for $159/hr. One of them was the owner's son, Pat,who insisted that's what I arranged when I KNOW it was not. Too late now. With only 2 guys it took over 5 hours & cost $900. CLUMSY & UNPROFESSIONAL They broke a wood piece on the landing of the rental I moved out of & now I have to pay for that repair. I showed them the way in through the garage because it had more room to maneuver but instead they went in the front door with a large piece of furniture and got stuck. They hit the ceiling light, then Pat said "this fucking door handle!" a couple times while working the furniture back out the door. They bumped into a lot of things, stacked boxes marked BOOKS on *top* of boxes marked DISHES-FRAGILE (?!) and were slow movers. I've moved a lot of times and dealt with at least 4 different companies and usually they're quick, efficient, and don't run into things. Not these guys. CREEPY & INNAPROPRIATE Pat hit on me not once but *three times* and asked me if it was just me here and kept coming over to see how I was doing. They were unloading a truck,I couldn't just ask them to leave. Made me feel unsafe and extremely unconfotable. It is wildly innapprpriate to hit on someone who hired you to work in their home. Now he knows where I live and has touched everything I own, gross. THEN HE CALLED ME claiming my card was being declined. There was no reason it should be declined and he read the info back to me but it was declined again so I had to use a different card. When I called the bank they said it was declined because the incorrect exp date was entered. Another instance of incompetence, which gave him the excuse to call me after I'd already turned down his date offer twice. Then he said "Well if you change your mind now you've got my number." That's harassment. NO MEANS NO. Overall this move was a horrible experience, for so many reasons, and don'r recommend this company to anyone, *especially* women. read more

I wish I could not give a star at ALL. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE!!! I originally found them via Yelp, requesting a quote. I spoke with Steve on the phone a week before my scheduled move date to book. They were available and he told me he would be sending me a text to confirm information about the move. I responded right away. A few days later and 3 days before my move date I reached out via text to confirm what time the movers would arrive . He responded "between 9-10 and we'll be checking in with you the night before." I never heard from them the night before, but didn't think anything of it, as we had confirmed everything already. Come today, the morning of my move, I am sitting here and no one has arrived. I call Steve and he said I never called him the night before, so they are booked (even though his text said they would be reaching out) ). Now I am stuck without a mover and need to be out of my place today! How do you plan on having the customer reach out to you the night before (even though he never said that), and then the next day not even have availability? It makes no sense. Set up with this mess of an owner Steve for a couple days. He prefers to organize by text but is not organized when you call. Always asking on the phone who he's talking to, asking your name over and over again. He makes you send information via text only. Set up an appt a few days in advance. He was unreliable to confirm. I had to confirm cia text. Was not forthcoming about timing and dates and services. Come to day of move and fifteen minutes to end of arrival time, no one showed up. Called this idiot Steve back, not sure why I had to call him back!? Wtf. I'm the customer and I have to call back to see what'a happening with your business? As a healthcare worker I had to set up a move week a month in advance and now scrambling to move over 100miles last minute. These guys were great! I don't understand some of the negative reviews because everything went smoothly for me. From the time I booked the appt to the time the actual move date (yesterday) occurred, I couldn't have asked for anything more. Steve, the owner, answered all of my questions up until the move date. I asked that his men (3 of them) contact me 30 min prior to arrival to make sure I was home and not walking my dogs; they did. I asked specifics if his men would help me disassemble my bed which was very heavy and if they would help shrink wrap a good portion of the furniture. They did and more; some of my very expensive high-priced furniture was wrapped carefully with the blankets I supplied. Another piece of furniture had so much glass and mirrors that Antonio painfully tore up (by hand) a bunch of extra shipping cardboard I had on hand (we didn't have any box cutters - it was all packed) to pad and secure the many mirrors and glass in the china buffet. I felt so bad that he was doing this for me but he did it graciously and with a smile. They worked efficiently to empty out a 4700 sq ft home in 4.25 hrs and to the storage facility that was 5 miles away). I was so impressed by their ethics, professionalism, willingness, service and most of all, efficiency. I watched them shrink wrap several pieces of furniture in minutes! I was in awe and amazement. I told them what took them minutes was 1/2 hr for me. DEFINITELY book your move with these folks. I can't say enough of how good they are. Steve was the person who answered by questions by text or email and the 3 guys that helped empty my home were: Antonio (he's the guy that did the administrative duties and mover) Damien (mover and driver) Luis (mover) Definitely ask for these movers to move your belongings. I want to start off with moving can be a very stressful and overwhelming process. I was in search of movers and everyone that got back me had a minimum of 6 hours. I called here and they had a minimum of 3 hour. I was only doing a local move. From the set up process to completing the move was great. The two guys showed up at the agreed time, they got to working and then took care with my stuff. I was moving everything into a storage unit. They wrapped everything in shrink wrap to protect it. I had to use their storage option, which would've been fine except that upon delivery of my items I found multiple boxes damaged along with their contents loose items were also damaged. On top of that someone had taken it upon themselves to go through a few of the boxes and take what they considered valuable. Missing boxes as well. These guys are true pros. I had to pack up my apartment and put everything in storage. My dad had gone through this business before and recommended it to me. I never thought we could have gotten all my stuff into a 10x10 unit, but Jamil and Isaiah made it happen. They were super friendly and hardworking too. They even drove 20 minutes to our storage, and were able to maneuver the truck around a tight turn in the facility that I never would have managed. All this and we got done within the 3 hour minimum. If I have to hire movers again these will be the guys I go through. read more

So my boyfriend and I booked with this company and scheduled the move for Friday 5/14/21. I was very excited and ready to get things done. While scheduling, Steve asked ask to text him our date, time and size to confirm booking and made it seem as if that was all we needed to do. We scheduled for 4:30 pm. Fast forward to Friday about an hour before the scheduled moving date, I called Steve to give him my personal cell number to contact as my boyfriend was at work. Upon calling, Steve answers and tells me that he does not have us booked and asked me to send my boyfriends number and email to him so that he can "double check". We end the call and I don't receive a call back, so I call him again. He then says that we never confirmed our booking. It was definitely terrible communication on his part, but he agreed to move us the next day at 9-10 am so I decided to give him another chance. 9am comes and I text Steve to ask if he is on his way. He doesn't respond. 9:30 am comes with no respond so I call him. He answers and says "I can't come until Tuesday, didn't I call you guys last night"? We never received a call from him. He then proceeds to tell us that we can call him back to schedule or go with two men and a truck. I am beyond glad that our lease for this apartment that we are leaving doesn't end today or we'd be completely messed up. I'd rather pay more for good customer service and quality. Easy to work with and offered me a no-nonsense quote.. others were and this is extra and this might go up in price... all which led me to believe that I could not truly trust the price... he gave a "flat rate" the guys that showed up were really great they took care of everything and worked hard to make things go smoothly. Moved from Sacramento to Seattle. Steve (owner) came out and gave me a flat rate quote that was at least $500 to $1000 cheaper than the competition. On moving day, Patrick (son) and his team of movers quickly got everything on the truck on a Tuesday. They scheduled their arrival for Thursday. But to my surprise I get a call from Patrick on the road, asking if you he could unload my stuff a day early on Wednesday. Patrick not only arrived early, he even beat me to my new apartment by a 1/2 hour. So we got our stuff a day early. Full transparency-- we did lose a picture frame (poor packing on my part), and an Ikea dresser was chipped (poor quality furniture)... Patrick did offer to file a report-- but I told him no problem. Based on limited online reviews we gave this company a try to pack and move a studio apartment to a storage room 1.5 miles away. By email we received a quote of $300 and when the movers were looking at the apartment they quoted around $400, realizing they would have to retrieve a third worker to help pack everything. I appreciated that Steve sent Dante and his two helpers the week I needed them, though not quite the same day. I was also pleased with how they stayed in touch reliably by phone or SMS and let me return to work after getting them started. The hassle started in the evening when I was told I would not be able to pay for the move over the phone and would have to meet the movers to fill out paperwork that apparently should have been filled out when we first met. After picking up my toddler from day care I waited for the movers to drive their truck to meet me downtown. Dante efficiently filled out the paperwork for me and was about to charge me $465 for the move, which didn't seem out of line with their quotes. But after an agonizing 45 minute debate with their manager Steve over the phone, while I balanced my grandson on the bumper of the moving truck at a busy intersection, Dante ended up charging me $803, saying Steve insisted on adding charges for time, fuel and supplies that he hadn't. I was even charged for time and fuel for the three movers to track me down to deal with the delinquent paperwork! When I went to inspect the moved items at the storage facility, I was surprised to see that they occupied almost exactly half of the 10' by 10' room that I rented for them. I was surprised because when the movers estimated how large a room I should rent they recommended a 10' by 20' room, and I went with the smaller one planning to reserve an additional room if necessary. I was also told that the apartment keys had been left in the storage room but but had to drive to South Sacramento because they were not there. And when I went back to the apartment, I found several items still waiting to be moved. Overall this work crew, or at least its foreman Dante, gave me the impression of being on the job only a few days, with lots of business procedures to work out. I don't know if that was true or not, but I certainly felt I was being made to be the one to pay for it - over $800 to pack and move 50 square feet of household goods. Update 5/12/16: Steve called me to try to persuade me to change my review. He said that their minimum fee was $320, so I must have misunderstood when my wife said she was quoted $300 by email. Steve also said he would have discounted the final invoice by an hour of labor if I had asked him to. I also remember him saying that Dante had worked with him for a long time, at least ten years I think. So I'm not sure why there was so much error and misunderstanding in this case. read more

After talking to Steve, and doing my research on pricing of doing it myself. The price Steve quoted me was equivalent to the price of I did it myself. These movers gave us a price when they came to our home. We agreed. When the movers arrived they were quick & very respectful of our furniture etc. They arrived with a small truck which we were surprised but they said they had another truck coming. Then they dropped the bomb. We need you to sign the contract& we need a check. The bill was $3000.00 over what we were told. At this point you have no choice but to pay them. The people that bought our home was moving in that night. Since we didn't have our home in Oregon still in escrow, we had them put in storage which was already in the price originally quoted. Now hey ready for this.... When they arrived after dark to our new home, I can't do it justice how ruff they were with the unloading. My wife & I had to help as it was getting late. We are in our 70's so not an easy thing. After weeks of opening boxes, so much broken & then finding stuff that wasn't ours & things we had which we don't anymore. They did find Organ pedals which were trucked up by a private carrier at a later date. Had to replace a new TV which we just bought, other than that who knows who got our stuff & the stuff we got who it belongs to. Workers were courteous and the owner, Steve, gave me a phenomenal quote. My items arrived in tact. My move was from the Los Angeles area to Sacramento. Only MY items were transported and that was a huge perk for me. Some movers will have multiple customers' boxes on the same van. So knowing I was paying for just my things to be transported gave me peace of mind. Beware !!!!!!! Con artist thief. I lost my home of 9 yrs. I needed a moving company and climate controlled storage units for my home and additional vehicle. I smentioned needing weekly access to my clothes.The owner of this company Steve Saxon was one of 5 to respond came out quickly to my home gave us an estimate to pack and move my 5 bedroom home into storage. Flat rate of $1800 at $295 per month plus first month free rent until I move to permant housing. boxes 4 workers and 2 trucks at 9am on 9/5/16. The guys showed up early hungry and one name Daryl complained of being tired. I called Steve to report this he said the guy would be ok. He sent the guys to breakfast I was still at work. I left the garage unlocked packed to get start until i got there. When i arrived after speaking with drive who said they got lost and wasnt there at 7am as Steve stated they had just arrived that was why the garage wasnt loaded that was around 930. Not only did things get broken the 1 guys after taking down beds while 3 stood around walking arounding in circles claiming to be doin inventory looking busy truck empty my belonging in the driveway for more that 3 hrs stopped working. I was forced to pack along with 2 coworkers and 2 neighbors and a deacon from my church to come and help that was around 400 pm in order to so call help, because 2 of the guys left at around 3 stating they didnt work for Steve they just came to help but had to leave. One kid as l through away food asked if he could have it i gave him a big hefty bag of groceries chicken roasts milk unopened etc.Then another mentioned his family and wanted some of the food as well while the other tired one mentioned needing a washer and dryer since i had 2 sets. I gave another mattresses and rails and he asked for the unused wardrobe boxes to take home which I paid for twice now. Steve offered that I move into his Lincoln home since finding a reasonable rental was proving to be impossible. I respectfully declined. He bragged to my brother about dating 5 other clients in the past and that thats how he meets girls through his coming out to give estimates. After being rejected he has stollen my entire life. My furniture and clothing are all being kept from me I have no knowledge of the where about. I have been buying clothes underware etc. to make it through the week. Since per our agreement im not being given access to my clothes either.I made a demand in less than 24hrs for the return of my belongings and got a uhaul and another climate controlled storage unit. Instead he mentioned his roomate leaving andhe ask that I come to his home. I respectfully declined again via text. Steve state via text that if I choose to remove my things I will need to pay $17.50 per box (35) but if I leave them with him the boxes are free. I also got boxes from work and the local grocery store since there were only 6 wardrobe boxes initially provided. I recieved a fraud alert twice from my bank that Steve billed close to $2000 in 2 seperate transactions on my credit card and not the contracted $1800. I further find out he has complaints with BBB for doing this to other consumers and changed the name of his business. BBB knows him by Budget mover which he claims he retired but shows up on my bank statement. After telling us that his last 5 girlfriends where clients of his and one he married and divorced in a short time this man is a devient and preditor so please beware and do your research about this man and his company. Within miniute one of the worker attempts to lift a marble dresser by himself he broke the corner of my dressor attempted to lie with the piece in his hand. I took pictures called Steve who assured me he would send it to be repaired. Steve has contacted my brother repeatedly to talk me into moving in with him he mentioned his net worth family worth etc. I just want my belonging my life back he has been paid in full. And put this horror story to rest. I am afraid and embarrassed but I am by no means a victim. Do not be fooled by his friendly nature he is a preditor and very scarry. Run from them!!!! I had this company move the contents of my modest home about three miles. I was assured the movers were professional and efficient and would carefully bubble wrap and move everything for me. My 1450 sq.ft. home was already boxed up and marked with the room where each item should be placed. At a quote of $136 per hour I was conscious of the time it would take to move. I never in a million years expected it to take 10 hours! Three men and a big truck moving my already packed up stuff took ten hours! Amazing! In addition when they were done I went back to the old house and found a significant number of items left behind in the garage and on the front porch - I also found the front door ajar because the door would no longer close! The door was bent from the hinges somehow and wouldn't close. I took pictures of the left items and the door and sent them to Steve - he said someone would come out and take care of it the next day. The movers did return the next day and finish the move... Well I had my brother fix the door because I wanted it done right for the new owners . When I initially booked the move, I was told they would not only move everything, but re-assemble what they took apart (mainly the bedframe). I took pictures of the way the assembled the bed frame - three sides had screws half in - one side had no screws at all! I once again sent pictures to Steve the owner and received no response! Not only did they take ten long hours to move my modest home, but things were scratched, unassembled, left behind, and missing (the glass top to my patio table)(?). Do Not Use this company! I noticed they changed the name of the company recently - probably because of so many bad reviews! I was negligent in not thoroughly checking them out - don't be like me! After a fiasco trying to book another company, Steve not only booked me for 3 days later, but turned around the proof of insurance I needed by the following morning and gave me an awesome rate. The 3 men performing the move were extremely polite, professional, and diligent. They were honest in their clocking and billing and not try to charge me a penny over what they quoted me. Moved from Sacramento to Las Vegas. My quote was $1000 less than any of the big moving companies. My items were delivered two days after pickup, whereas the big moving companies gave me a one week time span for delivery. Both the loaders and packers were polite and friendly. They worked quickly and efficiently. Everything of importance was well wrapped and nothing was damaged. I would never recommend Budget Moving and Storage to anyone. The owner, Steve, had his crew move me in February of this year. I'm a 70 year old woman who now resides in a senior community. His movers broke two pieces of furniture, and told me one of them (an end table) was unfixable and offered instead to come and see his warehouse of antiques to possibly replace my table. However, he ignored my requests to set up a date to meet him to view the furniture. Eight months later, the table was miraculously fixed with a simple line of glue. We're now into month nine, and he refuses to replace the four legs that were broken off my dresser. HE'S REFUSING TO FIX OR PAY FOR THE DAMAGE HIS CREW DID. He said he wouldn't refund my moving costs OR fix the dresser. I cannot understand why he would do this to a senior citizen. I implore anyone to NEVER do business with this company. They put me on the back burner for 9 months because I was nice and patient. And still, nothing is resolved. Don't waste your time and money on this company. read more

Movers worked hard and efficiently so hence the 3 stars however we were given a low price n a top price and were charged the higher price even tho things changed. Delivery of furniture was delayed by company. Items only insured for 60 cents per item. Washer hose slashed when installed too much hassle after all other things so just replaced at $189. read more

Elisha Elliott and Jeff they were awesome they were the best mover I could ever ask for. I had over a 600-pound safe they moved it with no problems and safely. These guys did a great job. Since I was paying by the hour, there was a concern that things might go slow, but it was just the opposite - Antonio, the team leader made sure things kept up at a diligent pace while Damien did the quality control to make sure the crew professionally blanketed and shrink wrapped all of the furniture and other items. The price is unbeatable and Steve, the owner gave us the senior discount which was really appreciated. I was happy to tip the guys at the end because they worked so hard in this heat. read more

I live in Southern California, and needed a mover to move a piano and a large piece of antique furniture from Sacramento to my home in Mission Viejo. I was also hoping that the same mover could move another piano (which I was replacing with the Sacramento piano) from my home to a home in Anaheim Hills. (I sold my original piano to someone in that location.) I called a number of different Sacramento movers, and the only one I talked to who was able to accommodate my needs in an economically feasible way was Budget Moving and Storage. And they turned out to be awesome! Steve, my phone contact (and, I think, the owner), was extremely helpful and attentive, communicating with me by both phone and text. The actual movers (Antonio, Luis, and another guy whose name I've regrettably forgotten) were wonderful. They texted me with arrival information, arrived on time, and were professional, careful, efficient, likable...and just perfect in all ways. They did move my original piano to the "buyer" in Anaheim Hills, and it was all executed without a hitch. If I had to give a grade to this company and its employees, it would be A+++. In short, I highly recommend this moving company to anyone who needs a reliable mover. They're great. read more
