There was a 4 hour service window which is understandable and pretty standard! He did show up at the end of the window, but within the time stated, and I got a call about 30 minutes prior saying eh was on his way. For those people who are easily frustrated just know they will arrive and will give you their full attention when they do--well worth the wait. Highly recommend them and you will be lucky to have them handle your electrical needs. This is about a new home warranty service call, with another electrician. The electrician was scheduled to come within a 5 hour time window. In the moment he came, I was in another part of the building. He knocked door, nobody answered, and left, the company representative told me on the phone later. The electrician didn't even take the time to send a text message or give me a call, first time a contractor doesn't do that! The lady representative I talked to on the phone was pretty rude, and basically told me that I should have told them to give a call during the visit scheduling. She ended the call asking me to call the home warranty, and I lost the service charge fee I paid because the electrician won't return. I can't recommend this company anymore. --------------------- After my call (event described above), I received a call from the manager telling me that she would reschedule the electrician to return. But by the time I heard the voicemail, I had already booked another electrician (that will cost me even more, but at least I can get the service done). I still value that the manager called, thus I'm adding more starts to the review. read more

One of the worst vendors I've ever worked with! Definitely true to their name of being "budget." Our insurance claim was assigned to them, and their first available appointment was 10 days out. On the day of the appointment, no prior communication was sent to us, and the technician showed up unannounced, while I did miss his initial phone call, I called him back in 7 minutes... and of course he didn't answer my call. I then proceeded to call their direct line where I was helped by an agent named "Michelle." She was extremely unhelpful unprofessional, and seemed like she was very new on the job, had kids crying in the background and didn't sound professional in the least. She proceeded to say that the technician waited for 25 minutes -- which is absolutely inaccurate as we were outside our building dealing with our annual fire testing and could clearly see that no one had arrived at the door during our time there! She then also said that they would be unable to reschedule our appointment, as the technician had "paid money for gas" and that I would need to contact our insurance provider for help. It is unusual to encounter such terrible customer service and long waits for service appointments, but like I said before -- they are definitely true to their name "Budget" Avoid them at all costs! read more

Budget had themselves taken off our claim the morning of the second missed appointment. They failed to provide the courtesy of notifying us they wouldn't be showing up for our appointment or responding to requests for updates on their arrival time. I had a recent situation where my bathroom fan stopped working . Michael the owner of Budget electric was there to fix the issue. Turned out that I had an old model fan which is not available any more and the new fan required making additional cut out on the ceiling . Michael was nice enough to make a retro fit of the new fan that would fit into the existing space. Absolutely professional and easy to work with . This will be the 2nd time that Michael has returned to the residence with an unrelated issue from the 1st time he was assigned by warranty company. My two overhead garage lights all went out at the same time a month ago. I reported and requested service from home warranty and was assigned a provider, who diagnosed issue as misuse and therefor not covered by warranty. I requested a second opinion and that's when Michael stepped up to the plate. Michael replaced defective wiring and was in/out in half an hour. He is knowledgeable, professional and friendly and knows his craft quite well. Office staff is timely in scheduling appointment and kept in touch with updated arrival times. Today I had the joy of welcoming Miguel from Budget Electric into my home to look at a broken bathroom exhaust fan and faulty switches throughout the house. Given COVID-19, I was very anxious about allowing anyone into our home but this was an absolute necessity so I scheduled the service. I read the Yelp reviews and became apprehensive since the reviews are rather mixed and either quite good or quite bad, I didn't like those odds. I was worried I was going to have a bad experience based on previous reviews. Like many other people I had scheduled service through my home warranty provider (Fidelity). I was pleasantly taken aback by how professional, courteous, and knowledgeable Miguel is! The appointment window was 10-12. He arrived at 9:58am and knocked on my door at 10:01, very punctual. He was cheerful and carried himself with ease and pride of craftsmanship. He greeted me and explained what he was there to inspect and fix and then went about his work. Miguel wore a face mask, kept at least 6 feet of distance, and even offered to tidy up after he was done. Wow! It's those little details that make it a white glove experience. He recommended replacing my broken fan (which requires authorization from Fidelity) and disconnected the fan and put the cover back so that so that we can use the bathroom in the meantime. Thanks to Miguel we can use our bathroom again! Before we couldn't even turn on the light. He also fixed our faulty light switches so we don't have a strobe light effect in the kitchen, dining, and hallway anymore. The house is in far better condition after his work. Budget Eletric contacted me on a Tuesday and we scheduled the appointment for Friday. They sent DAILY texts confirming my appointment with Michael. Friday morning, Michelle calls and says they have to cancel because they are "too busy".... huh? Wasn't my appointment scheduled into this "busy" day? We made the appointment 3 days ago and you're calling the morning of my appointment? I shared my experience with Fidelity and they're in the process of finding me another vendor. We were lucky enough to have Mike as our electrical technician. He took the time to explain everything to us before asking us to proceed with any updates or repairs. He was both friendly and accommodating and payment was smooth. FYI they accept card payments. It was one of THE BEST customer service experiences we've ever had. This company was assigned to my claim by American Home Shield. Looking at their reviews, I would never have hired them myself. AHS said Budget would call me within 24 hours to schedule an appointment. Four days later, I had not heard from Budget so I called them. Their outgoing message stated the fastest way to reach them was via email, so I left them a voicemail and also sent them an email with my information. At 8:00 the next morning they sent me an email saying their office doesn't open for an hour and they'd call me then. That call never came. Three days later at 1:20 in the afternoon a woman called to set an appointment for today between 11:00 to 1:00. I changed a few errands around in the morning and waited...and waited ...and waited. They never showed - they never called. I called American Home Shield back and they made numerous attempts to reach Budget. When they finally spoke to someone in the office, Budget gave several different implausible excuses and said they'd call me immediately. That was over five hours ago, not surprising, that call never came and their business is now closed. After much back-and-forth with AHS, I told them there was no way I would reschedule with this company. This isn't a one time thing. In looking at the reviews this is the way they operate. We had an extensive renovation project on our home and we were so happy we chose this outfit to do the electrical work. We went over the entire project with them (new panel, new wiring, two ev charge ports) and shared our budget. They told us what to expect with knowledge of exactly what was needed for ev charging and many other items and met every deadline. They told us days they would return after the the other contractors were done with their work, they do what they say! This was a rare positive experience dealing with home renovation but I highly recommend them for any electrical needs! read more

Miguel was very knowledgeable and efficient. We had another electrician guy come before, twice, but that guy didn't seem to know what the problem was, and he didn't (or couldn't?) explain much of anything to us. Miguel, however, clearly explained what the problem was (wiring to a fountain in the backyard was not directly routed to the main power source, but was instead wired to an adjacent room, causing the short), did some quick work, and the power came back. Really happy with Mikes electrical genius. He replaced our two bad outdoor GFCI outlets so now we can have our patio LED lights working and now we can wash our car with the pressure washer. Horrible. As other reviewers, they were assigned to me through Fidelity National Home Warranty. They were supposed to call within 24 hours of my claim. I had to call them 3 days later. We set an appointment date. No show. Set another date. No show. They are a horrible waste of time. I have another property and am using another home warranty service and was assigned an electrician from another company and he was on-time, communicative and understanding. I will be leaving Fidelity for this other home warranty insurer and pray that I am never assigned Budget again. If you can avoid Budget, please do! read more

We submitted a service request through our AHS home warranty and were assigned to Budget Electric. It was after work hours. It affected our fridge and stove, so AHS put it as expedite/emergency. The next morning we were contacted by BE, and they found us a canceled appointment time for the following morning. In the meantime, I searched BE for reviews and saw quite a few negative reviews, leaving me nervous for our appointment. Based on the service we received, I don't know how they have bad reviews. The women answering my phone calls were very understanding and patient with may many phone calls. Michelle and another woman handled all my questions and concerns. There were a couple of times I wasn't able to reach them, but I'm assuming they were handling other calls or were at a unch break. Although it was an hour outside of our service window, we had an electrician show up soon after. With the storms, I think they're busy and sometimes run a little behind. Michael was the best and completely blew away all concerns as soon as he arrived. He was courteous and positive the entire time. He asked permission for coming inside, opening doors, going into rooms, etc. He patiently explained everything he did. He wasn't annoyed by curiosity or my questions. He was thorough and had diagnosed our problem in less than 5 minutes. Although it ended up being an issue for PG&E to fix, Michael double-checked the circuit breaker and boxes. He replaced a faulty fuse box to ensure no additional issues. After our service was complete, I shared our initial concerns based on previous reviews. Michael was still positive and genuinely courteous. He had positive things to say about Miguel and Abraham as well. He explained they have a high volume of service calls. He didn't make excuses. Without dismissing the other reviews, he said that with the volume of calls they do, there are probably some negative reviews. We had budget electric because of AHS. The electrician broke light/fan in the main restroom while trying to fix fan in the guest restroom. Then he blame the insulation company for breaking the conjunction box in the attic. We need to pay him $240 for further inspection on the attic and the insulation company should fix it instead of budget electric. I called budget electric many times and the phone is not reachable for more of the time. Finally someone answered the phone but refuse to admit their fault. I ended up finding another electrician, who inspected the attic and found no conjunction box. read more

My bathroom fan isn't working effectively where the water is dripping from the fan after taking a shower and the entire bathroom is wet, and you can start to see some water damage from the water just sitting in the ceiling. This was the company American Home Shield contracts out through my warranty with them, and they have come 3x just to tell me it turns on so there's nothing to fix. This has been going on for nearly 3 months. To avoid further water damage and not waste time with them, I decided to just buy a new fan of pocket. When my contractor opened the fan cover, he said the fan design is very "unique" where the fan is actually sideways instead of pointing downwards to suck up the air. When looking at the cover, he was also able to identify where the water was dripping from without me showing any photos that I had taken. The fact that Budget Electric hasn't even bothered to open the fan cover to examine more closely shows their competence. 1 star for showing up. 0 stars for identifying the problem. read more

They are the worst company. They came to look at my ceiling fan, which is covered by my home warranty. All parts and components are covered. They wrote the report in such a way that the company denied coverage!! This was contrary to what the electrician told me when he came to my home. I spent a week trying to get someone on the phone to discuss this with them, as most of the time, calls go to voicemail. They finally said they would revise their report, but when I was told what they said, it was worse than the first time. Sergio was the electrician who came to help us fix the burnt wiring for ceiling light fixture. He was quick with his work, had all needed equipments and materials, informative and mounted the light back as well. It was a great experience with him. read more

I wish I can give them 0. The company kept provide the warranty company with false statement, trying to get the diagnose fee and doing nothing. The first time, my air-conditioning was not working with a lot of circuit break shut down, the company claimed that is because we have 100A which is not enough for 3 ton AC. They did not test whether that is the internal or the external circuit breaker, or anything simpler at all. This company asked us to pay for $5000 out of pocket to replaced the whole panel, because they claimed the circuit panel is 30 year old, and they have no replacement parts for the switch. While I hired another electrician, he easily found in 5 min that it was because the wire was loosed, the circuit breaks are in great condition, and the panel is 120A not 100A, and it works even for 3.5-4 ton AC. I also asked 3-5 air-condition company come by and review, they all claimed the circuit panel and the capacity is good enough for 3.5-4ton AC. The company send bs to warranty company, and voided my claim, while the fix is just 2 min stuff. In this year, my chime is broken, the company comes again, and said because we are having a smart doorbell, so they will not fix it because it is "smart". The other electric company assigned from warranty company took 5 mins to fix the issue- replace the chime everything works. I have no clue about how could they get any business, just because they are cheap? How could an electrician company goes so unprofessional! read more

The part was not immediately on hand (estimate was two weeks) and so it required two visits. Since then I have not been able to reach Budget Electric. I hired budget electric on a big project on a house where a fire occurred. At first, I was really worried because the city and fire department had shut off all the power and they wouldn't turn it back on. Not only did Budget Electric contact the city for me, they didn't charge me extra and they re-did the entire house cheaper than any other electrical company.
