Budget Dumpster LLC is far from budget-friendly. I used their service five times in San Diego, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend them. Each time, I ordered a 15-ton dumpster and paid $675 upfront per service. Months after my construction project was completed, I was shocked to receive a $2,000 bill claiming I exceeded the weight limit on every single rental. This is simply not accurate--several of the dumpsters were only half full. To make matters worse, on the final delivery, they dropped off a 20-ton dumpster while charging me for a 15-ton rental. They then billed me an additional $787 for "extra weight," which feels completely unjustified. Overall, this experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing. BEWARE - Budget Dumpster LLC based in OH may not actually be budget-friendly. The weight allowances are wholly inadequate. I rented a 15-yard (smaller) dumpster for debris from a townhome remodeling project (two bathrooms) in Phoenix, AZ. The dumpster was only a little more than half full when collected (and did not even include any toilets), yet I received an additional bill for exceeding the 1 ton weight limit! I'd like to give less than one star. I ordered it for September 15 but they dropped it off on September 14! That's a whole day earlier than I needed it. Since this was recommended to me by a customer, I figured I'd try it out for myself before using this company for my business. So far they also tried to pick up a few days earlier than what was scheduled and now they refuse to get it out of my driveway. My pick up date was between September 25-26 from 6am-6pm. Which is a long pick up frame when they don't even call when they arrive or if they are on location. All I got in response to my email on Monday was, "Hello, I apologize for the confusion, as we run on a 1-2 day window for removals you dumpster can be removed anytime between 9/25 and 9/26, between 6 AM and 6 PM. As today is the second day of the 1-2 day window this should be removed for you today." I bet they didn't even look my account or rental up. I emailed the 25th to be sure they were still picking up the dumpster and called the 26th to follow up when they didn't. When I called the 27 to explain the situation they promised to call me back in a few minutes. After a good 30 minutes I called them back and their office was closed. My pick up day was on Monday and it is now Thursday and they called me before 7:30am to let me know that because someone on site told the driver on Saturday which was 2 days before my scheduled pick up time to leave it longer and that my pick up date was Monday, I'm now going to get charged extra for this dumpster that is keeping me from finishing a project for my nieces birthday party next Saturday. On top of this, I have a pay another company $150 for everyday they come out to start their work but since a dumpster is literally in the way, i have to keep telling them to delay their start. I think they should be providing the drivers with the phone numbers we order the dumpsters with so they can call us instead of talking to stranger if they even come pick up the dumpster because I have been in contact with every person in the house and no one has seen or talked to the dumpster company. After reading the comments and reviews, they better not charge me for it being over a ton because the other companies I hired take the heavier items and sort through the electronics. So far, I am beyond livid and this company seems like another scam and if they can't communicate with their drivers or customers then they should focus on the orders they can provide better service to. I also work with the city of San Diego and poway so I will be sharing this experience with other businesses and small companies I work with so they don't get scammed into spending more money on simple projects. If this company tries to blame me for the negligence of their drivers and customer service workers then I will dispute the charges and report to them to the federal trade commission. I'll be posting some pictures that I'll be putting together to file a complaint. Do all yourself a favor and do NOT rent from budget dumpsters. *Here's an update on September 28th after speaking and emailing with Megan H about the dumpster being picked up up between Monday and Tuesday, and Christine P about the Saturday pick up refusal, I am not being charged $150 for a failed trip fee and $25 per day they did not pick it up. So the invoice they sent me is an additional $250 because they tried to pick it up a whole days day early and refused to pick up for an additional 4 days. So they want to charge me extra on top of delaying my project. Sounds like a scam I will be taking legal actions. Keep in mind, I'm not mad at the people working for this company. They do their best but they are frustrating to work with and I am thankful for the dispatched driver Jesus V. on Saturday for being understanding and way more helpful than the people in their customer service. THEY BACKCHARGED ME $225!!! I got a dumpster from this company dropped off the day after Christmas. There was a big giant phone number on the side of the dumpster so when my week was up and I called to have the dumpster picked up I called the number on the dumpster. The person at that number told me yeah no problem we will pick it up tomorrow. A week and a half go by and I figure they are just busy or waiting on a route to be near my house but they still hadn't picked it up. I finally called the number on the dumpster again, they told me I had to call another number to get it picked up!! After I had called and they said they would pick it up the first time. They charged me $225 without blinking even when I was pleading my case about the other number. read more

Do not rent. Beware of fine print. When budget dropped off the dumpster I had a great person who dropped it off. They were very kind. The dumpster suited my needs. However their customer service on the phone is TERRIBLE!!! ****I will post screenshots here where I followed the directions for removal of my dumpster. I found out the next day I was not scheduled. Although I followed their policy sent to me with the rental documents, I was ignored. They did not follow the policy. When I try to explain this to the two girls on the phone they instead tried to blame it on me. When I do business with someone and pay good money I want to be taken care of helped out and left satisfied. Too many different people on the phone answering and texting you as a customer yet when you tried to contact them you get screwed. Their own instructions and polish sent to me with the Rental Agreement. THEY DID NOT HONOR THEIR OWN POLICY! Renter beware This started out as a good service until you find out that their 20-yard dumpster and the measurements they give on their Webpage are not correct. This company contracts with other services and does not know the correct size this other contractor will send you. When I brought the size difference to their attention, they said we talked to the delivery company, and they said it was the correct size. I could not complete the clean-up of the house and will now have to order another bin. Just an FYI: 20 Yard Dumpster Dimensions The typical dimensions are 22 feet long, 7.5 feet wide, and 4.5 feet high. It can hold up to 20 cubic yards of material. 540 cubic ft One cubic yard is equivalent to an area of 3 ft x 3 ft x 3 ft, or 27 cubic feet. So, a 10-yard dumpster is equal to 270 cubic feet, and a 20-yard dumpster is equivalent to 540 cubic ft. I will never use them again. Fool me once..... Bye read more

They tore up my clients parking lot picking up the second dumpster on the same job, I filed a claim, took almost 2 months before anyone got back to me. Never never never use this service. These people are so disorganized it's a crime. Took 4 days for the sales team to talk to the dumpster team just to organize the rental of my dumpster. Now once they finally dropped off my Dumpster. They DROPPED OFF THE DUMPSTER AT 6am!!!! They woke up my entire neighborhood with their loud truck and banging. By the time I got outside and dressed. The driver was gone and had blocked my entire driveway. My car is in the garage, and now I can't pull out my car. There is plenty of space in the driveway for the dumpster and car, but because they placed it in the center of the drive way...my car is blocked. I called budget dumpster service team, to ask them to move the dumpster. They said they could TOMORROW. With a 150$ additional fee. WTF. After arguing with a service rep for 10 minutes. They did not budge. Said I'm screwed if I don't pay the additional 150$. Worst company ever. Do not go through Budget Dumpster if you need a dumpster. They will screw you over. read more

We had a large amount of yard waste (way too much to haul) and Budget Dumpster turned out to be the most economical solution. They were so easy to work with; answered the phone promptly, helped us evaluate the correct size dumpster for our needs, and were priced right! The driver who delivered the dumpster was very professional and helpful, placing it exactly where we needed it with the doors facing the way we wanted, too. Pickup also went smoothly - we weren't home but didn't need to be and they sent a text when they were on their way to pick it up. Would definitely use Budget Dumpster again! read more

If I could give them Zero stars I would. This place does not care about their customers or reputation. My 74 year old oxygen dependent mother reserved a 20 yard dumpster and they did tell her at hat time it might have to be a larger dumpster than she reserved because they weren't sure if it was available. On the day of delivery, the driver determined it was too large of a dumpster to fit in her driveway or street because of the curve in the street. She was told they would try to outsource and find her the one she actually needed, and she didn't get a phone call back for hours...only to be told, sorry, we don't have it, bad now we're charging you a $150 cancellation fee!! After multiple hours of phone calls, and supervisors later (Zach and Olivia and one other), we were told she had to be charged. I asked why, and was just told that since they warned her it might be larger, that they aren't at fault! I am shocked and appalled. Terrible customer service. Taking advantage of an elderly woman like this! DO NOT USE THEM! Tell everyone you know! Only giving one star because it's required to continue. Don't use this company. The dumpster we ordered was delivered with the door open, which resulted in it being unable to close, as there was a an incline and landscaping boulder in the way. When we called, we were placed on hold repeatedly and then disconnected. Finally called as 'new' customer and reached a real person right away. Who promptly placed us on hold and then disconnected us. We emailed them and they said there would be a $150. fee to "relocate" the dumpster. This went on for days. Long story short, we had a different company go out and lift it and close the door. It turns out that Budget dumpster is a broker. They take your money to provide a dumpster and hire another company - doing nothing and making a profit for crappy customer service. read more

Don't let these guys fool you with a local phone number....they are not local. They are in Ohio. They will place your dumpster wherever they see fit even though you tell them where to place it. They will then twist your story and tell you that you agree on the phone to place it wherever the driver sees it best. This is how they defraud you by charging a fee to move the dumpster to where you originally told them to place it. Please research dumpster companies and use a local company. Just started my dumpster rental journey and so far it has not gone well. I called and ordered a 20 yard roll off for delivery today. Paid in full and was waiting for delivery. The morning of the delivery I get a call, no 20 yard roll offs are available, I need to take a 40 yard roll off or wait a few days until they have one. I had other things lined up, so I accepted the larger roll off ( by the way, the same weight restrictions apply- you just have a greater chance of someone illegally dumping into your dumpster and you having to pay for the extra cost). They then tell me the driver is picking up the roll off and will be able to deliver within the hour but not more than 90 minutes later. 2.5/3 hours later I call and ask when he might arrive, since we were waiting. I was told they would check and call back. They call back 20 minutes later to tell me that the driver will be there in an hour. I explained we had been waiting 3 plus hours already. I then told the customer service person that thus far, my experience has not been good and just to make them aware that I was disappointed. She said thank you and basically said good bye. My take on this, there are a ton of companies out there. Sadly, I didn't pick the incorrect one. If I were you, I would shop around and take a pass on Budget Dumpster. I am wishing I did. read more

Unfortunately, didn't receive the greatest of service. We explained that we were emptying a house and needed a dumpster due to a family member passing. The one they sold us said it would be good for a cleanout-10 yard dumpster, one ton limit. It was a lower dumpster, and far from being enough in size. When we called and asked the cost for the larger, taller dumpster, it was about $25/more. We offered to pay for the new one and the old one could be picked up, but they would charge for both, the first and second, though we were misguided. The dumpster was filled within two days, we asked for them to come pick it up. Then several days later, got an email stating it was over the weight limit and we owe $20 more. Terrible experience! I was overcharged and misled. I was charged $329 for a 2 ton dumpster. This is the largest they had and i told them I would be removing tile. I received a bill 2 months later for additional $279 because they said I went over my weight by 5 tons. The materials were not even close to the top and they are telling me I doubled the amount of materials allowed in the dumpster. Surely, they have a better prediction of the material weight. They also have no way of proving this weight but said it came from the landfill. They were unwilling to work with me at all. read more

Zero understanding of the concept of customer service. All phone calls are recorded and they throw it in your face if you have a question or issue with their service. Do not even bother with them. They will tell you something on the phone and do the opposite. The office is in Ohio so you have to know what time it is there to reach "customer service". Had a terrible experience with this company! My initial experience with Darrel was great! Then it went down hill from there! On delivery day we stayed home waiting for our dumpster! Driver showed up and called me 3 times in a 2 minute span and because I did not answer the calls, as I was on a business call and these calls were showing as a toll free number, he left and I was charged $150! He never got out of his truck, even though our garage door was open, and multiple cars were in the driveway. When I called back I spoke with Chris L. Who said he was a supervisor, told me the drivers never leave their trucks and since I didn't answer the 3 calls made in a 2 minute time span I would have to pay for a miss delivery. When I asked for his supervisor he said he didn't have one, so I asked for the owner and he told me the Owner doesn't speak to customers! REALLY.....an Owner that is dependent on customers for the livelihood of his business won't speak to customers! That is amazing! So beware of any Owner that doesn't care about their customers! I canceled my order and will be filing a complaint with the BBB because nowhere in the contact does it say they only do delivery by phone and they won't get out of their truck to make contact when the reach the site and a customer is obviously available.
