I called Avis rep to tell her I was trying to make my 4:30 pm drop off time but I was sitting at a standstill on Interstate 81N in Lenox, PA. She didn't seem to care, but explained I would be liable for additional fees if I didn't get there at the agreed upon time. I called back again when I got stuck in traffic again on 81N in Scranton, PA. Same story from rep and she was very matter of fact and short with me. Avis reps really need to work on customer service skills. I get to the drop point at 5:40pm so I'm an hour & 10 minutes late. I'm walking in and I pass a woman (Avis Rep) walking out of the door but I didn't realize it until the girl at the front desk of the airport said "Oh, you just missed her. You passed her on the sidewalk and she is gone for the day but your good. I'll take the keys and give them to her in the morning. So I leave for home and check my receipt the next day and get charged $15.00 and 14.75% tax for total $17.21 for 70mins late. Ridiculous.

(2) Vehicle was picked up very filthy. Empty hard cider alcohol bottle in drivers door, napkins, papers, candy wrappers, tissues and empty bottles in vehicle, mud and leaves in cargo area. Interior not vacuumed or wiped down at all. (3) I rented using my AARP discount and received 4 days for $290. Great deal. Added one extra day but was charged for $125. I could not seem to get the agent to see the problem and ended up paying double for one extra day even though returned early on the fifth day. (4) I picked up the vehicle and the fuel was not full. It was between 3/4 and Full and about 60 miles of distance capability. I, of course returned it full so I would not be charged additional fees. This had to be the worst car rental experience I have ever had. The agent was absolutely no help at all and said to just call the number to complain and blamed the Avis hub in Syracuse for the filthy condition of the vehicle, and unable to address my other concerns. Terrible experience! I will not use AVIS in the future!

After we talked to the insurance we realized that they would only pay for a portion of our repair since it has tons of after market additions. (Yup we will be litigating) and we had the wrong insurance for that. It is a lifted Jeep with lots of add ons. So we opted to buy a new car and slowly have the car repaired. I ended up in the ER the next day. So we figured this out 2 days after my accident we called to have the car towed back to our house. It is literally 5 miles away. The owner never answered. We called again the day after. We also called and emailed during the weekend. No answer. The next day was a Monday. My husband called and he told him it was $950. He also told him that I refused to have the vehicle towed to my house. PS I never talked to this guy on the scene of my accident. It was a rollover and I was able to walk away but I was stunned that I lived. So my husband called him on an 3 way call. I explained that it was asked if he could take it to our house since he has to take it by our house and again he stated that I talked to him. He stated that I stated that I didn't have cash on site. I never talked to him. He then stated that I also didn't have insurance. Umm yes dumbass or I did or I would have been gotten a citation at the scene. He then stated that I pay up or give him the title. Nice scam! He doesn't accept any other payment but cash. Wtactualf? So I showed up with cash and again he was a raging asshole and then it was $200 more dollars to take it 5 miles back to my house. He then said again stated that I didn't have insurance. I offered to show him. asked for an itemized receipt and he wrote the delivery fee in? Scam again. He also couldn't deliver my vehicle until the next day.cause he was too busy cleaning his camper worth his Mother? I have heard others say that the same thing has happened at other Budget offices too! I feel finally DONE with Budget forever, considering the horrific lack of decent customer service. Booking.com has just as good, if not better prices thru Hertz.
