I'm a former army NCO and officer. If you give me your word, I consider that a bond. The owners, Mark and Nikki of Budget 8 Septic Services gave me their word and their work exceeded my expectations. I hired Budget 8 Septic Services to pump out my septic tank. To save money I went ahead and dug up the inlet lid to the septic tank. I did not know that there was an outlet lid, because the last company we hired only drained the inlet side some 4 years previously. I called Nikki to let her know that I dug up the inlet lid. She informed me that I had an outlet lid to dig up and where to find it. After I dug out the outlet lid , Reno and Troy, Budget 8 Septic Services employees, came out to pump my tank. Both guys were very courteous. They pointed out that my concrete septic tank was cracking down the center, based on expanding gases in my tank. They also showed me where the concrete was deteriorating inside the tank. They recommended that I get a new tank. Well, I wanted to "kick the can down the road,"i.e., I wanted to avoid putting a new tank in. The new code for our area requires that you have riser rings installed on your septic tank that go to ground level, (thus saving people from digging the lids up.) Troy recommended that I get plastic riser rings as the weight would not collapse the ceiling of my septic tank, as concrete riser rings could. I took his advice. I ordered a couple of plastic riser rings. While waiting for the plastic riser rings to arrive, I put a tarp over my septic tank. After it rained, I went to remove the tarp. I stepped on the outlet lid. Yup, because of the deteriorating concrete the lid and I fell into the tank! Okay, I only my legs partially fell in. At that point I decided I needed to get a new septic tank. Mark invited me out to a site where they were installing a new plastic septic tank. He explained the installation process. It was very educationally. Basically, we had a handshake deal. Mark let me know that it would be a few weeks before they could begin as they had other customers scheduled ahead of me. Nikki, later sent me an email on the agreement and a receipt for a partial payment I sent. We started the process on 4 June 2020. Rick, Lacy, and PJ, also Budget 8 Septic Service employees, came out to begin work on 24 June. They excavated a large pit next to my existing septic tank. They placed the new plastic septic tank in and installed new PVC piping. By doing this they cut off my old tank. Then we had to wait for the County inspector to approve the construction. Once the construction was approved, they installed the riser rings, pumped the poop out of the old septic tank, crushed the old tank in place, and then back filled all the dirt, and restored my yard to its original configuration. By mid-day 26 June the job was complete. Rick, Lacy, and PJ worked like beavers in 90 degree plus heat. There was no bird-dogging or slacking off. Lacy, the owners' daughter, was an enthusiastic spark plug, learning her parent's business. I give Rick a big ol' salute as he provided stellar mentorship to Lacy and PJ, that reminded me of an old noncommissioned officer teaching a new "Butterball" Second Lieutenant officer the tricks of the trade. Every Budget 8 Septic Service employee I meet provided me with excellent customer service.
Here is why I like Budget 8 Septic Services:
1. Integrity - Their word was their bond.
2. Straight shooters - They told me what was what, without any up-sale
3. They called me to inform me when they would be coming out to start the septic tank install.
4. They handled getting the construction permit.
5. They made the calls for utility locates prior to digging.
6. They called the county health inspectors
7. We couldn't use our toilets for about 30 minutes when they cut out our old septic tank and switched our system over to the new tank! I thought that was really quick.
8. Their work was to code, and quickly accomplished.
