This place has been a God send. Having to renovate and clean up an uninhabitable family estate, complete with algae and critter infested swimming pool, Buddys has been our go-to place for saving the pool! We have made frequent trips for advice, guidance and products which helped us get the pool ready to show on the market - all without a pool service. Truly a DIY project and Buddys made that possible. read more

I dropped a pool rover off for a repair, I had to call to check and see if they had diagnosed the issue (4days). I was told it would be another 4 days before they would be able to evaluate . I decided to ask the people at Leslie pools if they could look at the rover. They explained that polaris rovers self diagnose, within minutes as they ripped the machine apart the problem was solved. Unfortunately, the machines cord and motor were defective, resulting in a repair bill that made no sense. Leslie pools sold me a new rover. The owner was knowledgeable and kind, I highly recommend them!!! read more

I'm not sure why there are low ratings here, however, Buddies pools have always done great work for us. Their staff are friendly, they get back to us in a timely fashion, and their technicians are knowledgeable all at a good value. I highly recommend their service. read more

I used to love Buddy's. The past few years it has been hard to get them to call back or respond to an email. I have moved on to another pool company. read more

I had Buddy repair a broken pipe under the concrete of the pool deck. Due to unforeseen circumstances the project took a bit longer than anticipated. Buddy completed the job including pouring new concrete and did a great job. Then he winterized and covered the pool at no charge for the inconvenience on his part. I will deal with this company again. read more

Customer service is terrible! The overcharge for services and they don't do a good job when they close. The owner is rude, obnoxious, disrespectful and a bully. Customer service staff is not pleasant at all!! read more

I reached out to Buddy's to open our pool this year because our regular service provider could not schedule us prior to putting our home on the market for sale. These people are so awesome! They fit me in their schedule, and got my pool beautiful in time for listing pictures. Now, my pool vacuum has broken 2 days before home showing starts, and Buddy's was able to fit me in at the last minute again to vacuum my pool tomorrow! These people are so helpful! 5 stars! read more

I was charged $800 for the deluxe service. They didn't clean the pool, didn't balance the chemicals, and they didn't clean the filter as promised. They only removed the cover. Two men were in and out within one hour. Complete fraud. read more

I give Buddys 5 out 5 stars from the store to the service department they are great.thank you Walter Denmyer Jr read more

Just arrived home to find this company had pulled a high powered hose up to the edge of my neighbor's property line, aimed it towards my yard, AND EMPTIED MY NEIGHBOR'S ENTIRE SWIMMING POOL IN MY FRONT YARD. When approached the technicians replied "calm down it's just water." We got a non-apology from the owner and a 'thank for for telling us, I will call and let the guys know." How a company rectifies their wrongdoings is just as important as the quality of the work they perform- this company obviously falls short on both fronts. read more

Have been less than pleased with almost everything buddys has done for us. The technicians did not close our pool properly for the winter which caused all of the water to drain out. Not only did it flood our lawn, but the inside of the pool then cracked from being dried out for many months. Buddy's adamantly denied any fault. We had two other pool companies take a look after and they both said the cause of the cracks was from the water leakage. Buddy's did absolutely NOTHING to make this tight whatsoever. This company is fine to go into the store and purchase equipment, but absolutely do not use any of their services or technicians work on your pool. We used them for 5+ years and had nothing but problems read more

very poor customer service and experience. they didn't tell us when they were going to show up, and they showed up when we were away/out of town, and used up our three visits without fully completing the service that we paid a premium for, because all the 'visits were used up'. we explained multiple times that we're new to having a pool and needed someone when we were present to walk us through things, show us how to turn on the water, etc. and they never did and never gave us the chance to correcct the issues in between because we weren't around to get instruction nor did they send us any notes after their visits. I spoke mostly to Trish who was consistently pretty rude and short and patronizing, even though we explained we were new to all of this. the retail store staff and technicians themselves are significantly nicer and understand how to help customers. next season and for winterization, we'll go with someone else. read more

If I could award more than 5 stars, I would do that. We had what was seeming to be an unsolvable problem this spring with cloudy water that neither chemicals nor filtration was resolving. The great folks in the store (notably, Nancy) shared our dilemma with Buddy and he was out here that day to check it out. Ended up with Buddy, Jr. installing a temporary additional filter to the pool. Then either he or Buddy was out every morning for a week to backwash their filter and check progress. Thankfully, they got it cleared up and Buddy still calls to make sure that all is well. We're grateful for a level of care, concern, and service that goes well beyond what we would expect or ask. Thank you, Buddy's!! read more

I just purchased a house with a pool. I needed some assistance with information on care and pool closure. The person I dealt with was demeaning and rude. I was willing to pay for my pool closure and maintenance but now I will go to a shop that appreciates my business. read more

A tree fell in our pool due to a bad storm in the Carroll County area. We were working with insurance to come up with a quote for the storm damage. Buddy's had a great first impression. It is a family business, and the son came out (Buddy Jr.). He told us for the storm damage they would have to drain it and said when they do, we could also get it resurfaced (non-tree damage related). We told them to give us a quote for the storm damage plus one for resurfacing so we could see how much it was. One week later, we finally got the quote. It was all wrapped up into one quote instead of two, and also didn't include the cost of water replacement. After we called them and explained things to them, Buddy Sr. was going to come out. As I waited for Buddy Sr. to arrive, staying home from work in the morning, he never showed up...all day. Upon calling them, the person on the line could only offer, "I'm not sure where he is." At the end of the day, they told us he would be there Tuesday (the following day). No one showed. No phone calls. It is now a week later and I called back (the initial visit was June 18, and it is now July 10). I asked the individual who answered what happened, and there was no record of any of this. Before putting me on hold, I said, "If you cannot get someone out in the next day or two, we'll have to look somewhere else." The individual came back a minute later and stated, "The scheduling person messed up. We can't get someone out there in the next day or two." That was it. Terrible business practice. Our pool is now a swamp of frogs because they told us not to put any chemicals in it to prep for draining. Thanks Buddy's. read more

I needed to have a motor replaced for my Pentair Stainless Steel SuperFlo Single Speed Almod Pool Pump 3/4 horsepower pump. I was quoted 381.38 with a cost of 289.95 for just the motor and 91.43 for other parts and services. A basic amazon search netted me a brand new pump shipped for 280.61 and the motor if I wanted to just purchase that would only cost me 162.64. So for those who did the math the full cost of just a repair would cost me 381.38 whereas if I just bought a brand new pump it would cost me 280.61 that is 100.77 over the cost of a new pump. read more

When I lived nearby, I used Buddy's Pool. Their prices are quite high and services are pretty bad. I dealt with Trish and she was quite slow getting the help. She did not bother returning my calls and explaining to me what was going on. Well, she might be thinking that all the poor customers would have no place to go. I sometimes wondered why I worked so hard to get her my business. read more

We hired Buddy's Pool to do our pool renovation. The job consisted of sandblasting, tile & coping, plaster, 2 skimmer replacements, new plumbing, LED light and a 4ft cement perimeter around pool. The My husband and I worked with Buddy Sr. and he did an incredible job with answering all of our questions, scheduling the work and seeing the job through. Buddy personally showed up at the job several times throughout the entire project. The quality of workmanship that went into renovating our pool was amazing. Every day the workers were at our house by 6-7 AM. Buddy kept us informed about each step of the process and we knew what was going on the entire time. Furthermore, all aspects of the job were performed on schedule. After the job was completed, Buddy came out a final time and personally coached us on how to properly maintain our pool and ensured that we had all of the proper chemicals and dosages. The pool is GORGEOUS! We are so pleased with how everything turned out. If you are considering building or renovating a pool then I highly suggest reaching out to Buddy's pool. You should feel 100% comfortable and confident in the company you choose and Buddy's is one of the few that can deliver a great experience and superior work. --Amber & Frank read more

Excellent service and support. I have a 30 year old pool that came with the house we just purchased and needed some love. After calling 5 pool companies to provide estimates on opening and resurfacing Buddy Jr. came and we discussed all of the options. His estimate and willingness to work with my budget reached far beyond the other overpriced options. I almost gave up resurfacing my pool until I came across Buddy's. He worked with me and my budget so I could save money and still get something that would last our family a lifetime. Throughout the whole process Buddy Jr. was responsive, easy to work with, informative, and even came to the house a few times to ensure I was able to maintain the pool appropriately to ensure the new plaster will last for years to come. I am still new to maintaining an in-ground pool but I will always be able to count on the knowledgeable experts at Buddy's to get me through my challenges. read more

It's November 10, 2014 I just got off the phone w/ 'Trish' re pool closing. She's very abrupt and could use some serious one on one personal training in the sales & charm department. I reminded her that I'd called over a month ago and was still waiting for the contract, which they require... completed and paid for in full, up front, prior to doing anything for the client. While she disavowed knowing who I may have spoken with, it was a 'no brainer' for me... "you, I remember the attitude!" Our original pool guy quit the business; his replacement team didn't know much, if anything about our fully automated Pentair System so we replaced them with another promising outfit who, unfortunately seems to have also gone out of business. Why Buddy's? Well, apparently they're the only 'authorized' Pentair Dealer in the area, staffed/stocked to repair full on Pentair Systems otherwise, this afternoon's experience w/ Trish has me biting my lip... and hoping that the rest of their team is much more outgoing, customer friendly and come with a great attitude. Otherwise, since I've worked on my share of cars, cycles and whatever else in my lifetime, perhaps closing our pool should be one of those 'services' I just bring back in house.... after all, 'service providers' don't ever think for a second that chores are delegated to the service industry for any host of reasons, many having to do w/ time and convenience vs. any lack of ability to perform them. Stay tuned... if the service team earns 5 stars (and I hope they do) I'll report back! read more

we have owned a spa from Buddy's pool and spa for about 3 yrs. in those 3 yrs we have had nothing but problems. just recently the motor in our spa has gone bad we have made repeated attempts to contact the service department to make arrangements to have it serviced. not only do they not return phone calls but when we went into the store to speak with the manager who assured us they would be out to service our spa, not once but twice they were a no show. not even a phone call. this is unbelievable treatment of customers and despicable way to run a business read more
