In Florence for a few days and was recommended this place for lunch. So glad I stopped by! The smash burgers were SO GOOD! Cute little restaurant with plenty of indoor & outdoor seating. You order at the counter & take your number to a table. Cashier was super helpful in helping us decide. Food was brought to the table. Ordered a Buddy Burger and this month's special, a Caprese Burger & ice teas. (Got free ice tea refills!) Everyone working here were super friendly. Absolutely enjoyed our lunch. Stopped in for lunch here at Buddy's. Location is a little hidden, I would recommend some better road advertisements to properly point out the location and possibly some call to action on the building. The food was well described on the menu. The wait was basically nothing, very fast and fresh food. Food was at proper temperature, and the appearance was fantastic as well as delicious. My only criticism is possibly that the "steak fry chips" were not properly separated going into the fryer,this caused some to be nice and crispy and others to be soggy and undercooked. read more

I need to eat gluten free. Buddy's was terrific!I had the Buddy burger on a gf bun with a side salad. the fries are done in oil used for gluten contain8ng items, so NOT gf. The burger was the best I've had in a very long time. The dressing on the salad was perfection. I treated myself to a boozy shake and it was divine. I pass through Florence every few months. Frankly we've been here a hand full of of times the food is kind of hit or miss the first time the food was pretty good i was impressed had a beer with my burger and it was good...a bit more expensive than i expected but still not bad they have "adult" milkshakes which is neat. Second time we went was not so great service was a little slow and i wasn't terribly impressed. My burger was over cooked and i had gotten their daily special which wasn't great went back because someone wanted to go and i got something a little more simple and it wasn't bad...problem with "smash" burgers is the edges can get crunchy if cooked too long. Otherwise it's a fun looking place nice outdoor seating and the lower entrance to the rail trail is near by so you can go for a walk on a nice day. read more

I decided I wanted to try some place new while I was in Florence SC for the night. I found Buddy's and saw another review mentioning how "juicy" their Spicy Catch was. This caught my attention and I decided I wanted to give it a try. After eating it, I concurred that juicy is the perfect word to describe the Spicy Catch. I really enjoyed it as well as the Steak Chips that are surprisingly filling. I liked the outdoors seating and the service was friendly. After I finished my meal, an employee actually came outside and offered to take my trash after noticing me looking around for a trash can! Overall I had an excellent meal at Buddy's. Only thing is it was a little difficult to find as it's almost hidden behind other stores. read more

The customer service was absolutely fantastic! The food was spectacular, I went in to get a burger only having six dollars in my pocket and I was certainly not disappointed. I was there with my partner and a friend of ours, he only got a sprite but I got a few things and I was very pleased with the seating. I was very appreciative of Magic School Bus on the tv. Buddy's provided Exceptional Service and Food. I have Celiac disease and have a wonderful experience. Gluten free bun was fresh and fabulous. hope their food is better then their customer service. Heard about this place from friends so went to try them out today. It wasn't busy around 2pm. Walked up to cash register to order and girl just walked away. They had 4 people working and none of them said a word to us. We waited about 10 minutes to place our order. After no one waited on us or even said be right with you, we just walked out. If that's how they treat customers when not busy, they must not need new business. go to 5 Guys just down the road, they take your order immediately and say hi when you enter. read more

The fish sandwich is fantastic! Can't rave about it enough. Burgers are so good too! If you go, you have to get the "fries". They are large surfboard shaped fries that taste great dipped in the Buddies sauce. If you haven't been, just go! read more

What a disappointment. Good things: it was clean, the staff were friendly and patient with multiple questions from new customers. The hot dog bun was fantastic. Bad things: The burgers were so thin and overdone they were actually crunchy. The potato chip/slices were cold and served in a cup, which made them mushy. The coleslaw, which was inedible, was served in a condiment cup and cost $3.79! The ugly: the bill was $77 for 4 people to eat a lunch of 2 jr burgers, a chili dog, a buddy burger, 4 fries and 4 drinks (one was a milkshake, which was very good). We won't go back. read more
