This was our first return to Putting Edge since they moved into the Colossus plaza after the huge…read morefacility they had near IKEA/Dave and Buster's. We were a bit skeptical of how it would measure up, because it's in a much smaller unit, but we turned out pleasantly impressed. The one obvious improvement is that it's newer than the old facility, but it's been a few years since they moved. Yet, it is still very fresh and clean. We booked our tickets online prior to going, as recommended on their website, to avoid any wait behind others to get started. Sure enough, we only had to wait a couple of minutes once we arrived to get started. In the meantime, we wandered among the arcade amusements you can enjoy. You can purchase ticket packages in bulk if you want to enjoy the arcade machines and games in lieu of or in addition to your mini golf experience. We were handed out putters and able to choose what colour glow-in-dark ball we wanted. We were able to begin right away. Throughout the entire 18 holes, we rarely had to worry about waiting on people ahead of us, or causing delay to anyone behind. It wasn't perfect, but it was a testament to how well they manage to stagger entrants. All of the holes were different, in terms of layout and paint design. Everything was aesthetically pleasing. The challenge level was a good medium so that you don't want to scream with frustration, but not so easy as to make it absolutely boring. I'd say we spent maybe 90 minutes or so in total to complete the course. We were asked if we'd like to have a scorecard to keep track, which we did. It wasn't always easy keeping up, moving along, and writing scores on the fly, but it made it a little more fun to keep the competitive streak running. We dropped our putters off before exiting the course and were done. It was a great family activity, which I'd recommend with any group you might want to play with. They also offer party packages, with a full sized party area to accommodate a celebratory meal. We'll definitely return every so often for a fun, family experience.

The staff were super nice and the price wasn't bad at $16 per person for mini golf. There is an arcade at the entrance that is fun but warning, it's very expensive and the credits are consumed very quickly! We went through $80 worth in about 15 minutes, just waiting for our name to be called, despite that we had a reservation (they tell you to go early, now we know why). The other issue was that they didn't space the groups up enough so we spent a lot of time waiting in line for the next hole, and there's not much room so you feel like you're in the way of the course. We really wanted to like this place, especially for a good rainy day activity. Doubtful that we will be back.

Lots of free parking, large space that is well marked, organised and staffed. All events are outside, so dress accordingly to the weather. Inside the main house is the washrooms and food. They serve big scoops of Kawartha Diary with almost all the flavours made. For mini put, there are two courses to try; Shipwreck or the logging theme. Shipwreck is slightly more challenging. Somehow my kids got the par for the course which is labelled on a sign at each hole. They now think they're big shots and want to go pro, meanwhile my ball enjoyed the water features in the Shipwreck course. The batting cages are self explanatory. Sign at each cage tells you what to expect from ball type to speed level. One token gets 15 pitches, just get the 5 special pricing, it doesn't expire. Bring your own helmet and bat as the ones supplied may not be the greatest. This area is either empty or packed with teams going there to meet up and waiting for a certain pitch. It would be better if they could adjust cages depending on needs of the group. Otherwise the wait can be long.

In addition to the putt-putt, the main large room has midway games and arcade games that my daughter and her friends enjoyed in particular. The prizes could be better but this is not a deal-breaker. We have returned a few times as it is a great place in Stouffville to meet up for playdates.

This driving range is literally right next to the Barrie "airport" (more of an air strip but in any case). There are about 20 grass tees and about a dozen carpet tees off to the left. The place is well maintained and not too busy, even on a beautiful 25 degree sunny day on the May 2-4 weekend. The prices are reasonable (about $11 for a large bucket or $15 for a jumbo ~150 balls). There is a sand trap and a green with 4 holes by the carpet tees to practice your short game. There is also a mini golf but it's in a ditch, the carpet is in pretty bad shape and it looks like it hasn't been used in a few years. All in all, this is a very convenient and affordable driving range if you're living or visiting the north end of Barrie.
