Even breeders of championed show dogs will tell you that direct offspring of a champ can be "duds" as far as showing or working. Multiple generations muddy that bloodline but it doesn't mean the dogs aren't great pets. Just very expensive pets. The breeder is quick to reply and obviously loves all the dogs in her care. I also see evidence that hip, elbow and heart tests are done on all dogs they own. And, if for whatever reason you are not happy with the dog, or can't care for it, she will take it back. I also love that she doesn't believe in shipping puppies. Travel arrangements for delivery are taken seriously with the dog's well being in mind. I was disappointed that the dogs are not shown or worked. I don't believe in breeding pets. Generally a breed-specific breeder is interested in maintaining the integrity and standards of their specific breed of choice and that doesn't seem the case with Rock River, though they partake in water rescue style exercises for fun. I'm not saying to avoid this breeder, but if you are looking for a Newfoundland you probably have an interest drafting or water rescue. If that is the case, you will need to look elsewhere to a breeder who specializes in working their dogs, and will be able to recognize a puppy with the proper drive and determination early on. 12/18 Replying to the comment- pulling trees and "water work" are not necessarily evidence of participating in drafting course tests or water dog trials/tests. I was specifically looking for a dog to do water rescue. I look for not just breeders who show, but who train according to the standard in order to correctly pick the dogs whose genes and abilities should be passed on. My questions were valid, and I received answers that I felt didn't fit my expectations. I've never met a breeder yet who doesn't love their dogs like family. But a working breed has to fit a certain model.

We ended up getting one of the puppies from them. While the puppies were weaning off their mom and getting big enough to take home, they allowed us to visit the puppy we chose to purchase and bond with her. They kept in great contact with us during the whole process of getting our puppy. Any questions we had, they answered. They started to potty train the puppies and ours goes outside and knows what to do! It's been so great and we are very grateful for the care they have taken of the puppies!! It's only been a week, but our puppy is happy, healthy, and a pure delight!!

Last night we had a class where every dog there could be stopped on a dime, and called in, completely off-leash (no shock collars, no food, just verbal control)...that is more than any other training group I know of can claim. You have to commit to changing YOURSELF for the method to work, but if you do, the result is positively life-changing. Thank you to Pat and the whole quansa family. I have saved many dogs from being Vite dogs and likely euthanized or sheltered with this method, careered a few into wonderful working dogs, and trained my own REAL service dog that actually behaves like they are supposed to, without food bribery. He goes everywhere with me, and usually goes unnoticed in his vest because he is so polite.

The actual workers were amazing. Our house burnt down, again workers amazing, we put all our cats…read morehere. They cleaned them, medicated them after the vet visit, but they were there from Feb till July... We checked in on them, by phone as we were forced 9+hrs away from the home, but that's an insurance/mortgage issue...we were paying them, even drove all the way there to pickup one of our babies when they got sick. Emails, texts, etc...always in contact. Then, again the workers are amazing, a management person, I'm not giving names but I do have receipts and emails, decided to send a threatening email that they were going to give our cats to humane society because we weren't in contact with them, they hadn't been paid....all of which was bullshit again I have everything to prove the management was full of shit. Yes they were there a long time, our house is still being rebuilt, my family is in 4 different states, we're not even in personal housing of any kind so they were the safest place to keep them. So our neighbor, bless her heart, took them in for now and even that's running out because house is being built. I recommend the workers there but the management has zero clue as to what's going on, decides whatever whenever, never saw our cats, never talked to the workers who were also very confused as to why this was happening. If you need proof Ive got it on hand! 5 stars for workers and their ability to groom and love your pet. 1 star for management who just want to give your pets away to the humane society.

Took my 14 lb dog in for a groom. After 4 hours I called to see if my dog was about done and was…read moretold it would be another hour or so but they couldn't guarantee that because they hadn't started grooming her yet. In 4 hours the only thing they had done was give her a bath and she wasn't even dry. I told them I needed to pick her up in a hour at the latest because I had an appointment. Was told I should have let them know if I had anything else to do that day. Other people told them they had appointments so they put those dogs in front of mine. What? So what is the purpose of an appointment? So I went and got my dog and got charged $30 for a bath. Guess I should have paid attention to the bad but accurate reviews. Be a better dog mom and take your dog somewhere other than Bubbles & Bows, unless of course you want bad service.
