It only took them a couple of days, and they fixed them just in time for the huge snow dump. Service was friendly, I got a phone call when my boots were done, and I didn't have to pay for them until I picked them up. Happy cozy feet at a reasonable price. Check them out if you've got a wonky zipper or a dress that needs taking in.

That's why the Outlet stores (I've been to the ones in both Calgary and Edmonton) are worth checking out first. This particular Roots just happened to have some nice sales when I was there, so their great and stylish selection of clothes and accessories were even more tempting this time around.

Huge selection of boots of all materials, even some that are illegal to buy in the States: alligator, kangaroo, python (and, of course, bull hide). I'm no cowboy, so I felt a bit lost. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and they made sure I was fit properly. They also instructed me on proper care and gave me the necessary leather care and even a boot jack. Prices vary, and the exotic leather boots are not cheap. However, that's because they're high quality. For myself, I settled on two pairs of python skin boots (I couldn't decide).
