Atmosphere and owners are very pleasant. Rooms are very comfortable. We absolutely have no complaints about the inn.

Airbnbs or bed and breakfasts are usually more our cup of tea, but the four humans of our family…read morerecently squeezed into a double queen bedroom at Hampton Inn Rutland for the camaraderie of staying with other ski team families. It was a blast and the hotel was quite pleasant for the genre (mid-range, family friendly). Pros: - There's a nice common room downstairs with a fireplace, where we were able to gather with a big group of friends and share dinner. It's also where breakfast is served in the a.m. - Breakfast service begins at 6 a.m. -- great for those who need an early start. - My kiddos love "Hotel Breakfast" as they call it, and this was no exception. There are two DIY waffle irons with lots of wonderfully unhealthy toppings; hot mini omelettes, sausage, and potatoes; muffins, bagels, toast; cold cereal and oatmeal; fruit salad and whole fruit. - We either had very quiet neighbors or the walls are reasonably well soundproofed. - There's a small, heated pool. It's hyperchlorinated as most hotel pools are, but a nice place to congregate and relax with friends after skiing. - There's a small, but adequate gym -- and a conference room should you need it. - The hotel adjoins a shopping complex that includes a Hannaford's supermarket, an Office Depot and a Michael's. Convenient for friends who had to find poster board for a school project due the following Monday. And we picked up fruit trays and dessert for our team dinner. - The hotel is dog friendly! We traveled without our pup this time, but did get to hang with some great guest canines. This is a massive plus in our book. - Beds were quite comfortable and staff were nice! Two people even dressed up as Santa and Mrs. Claus to say hello to the kids at dinner. :) Cons: - The elevator was out of order during our stay, so those of us staying on the third floor with lots of ski gear to carry up and down got a GREAT workout. - The pool is quite small, more of a cooler-than-usual hot tub than anything else -- so don't expect to swim laps. - There's no fan or ventilation in the bathroom. After four showers, it gets pretty steamy. Neutral: - It's about 30 minutes from Killington Mountain. There are more proximate, dog friendly hotels (e.g. Killington Mountain Lodge) and Airbnbs, but Hampton Inn Rutland may be better priced. - Our room temperature defaulted to 68 or 69 F. I love that it's eco-friendly and it was a good temperature for putting on ski gear -- but we usually keep our home a bit warmer than this. You can change the temperature of course, but ours kept defaulting to the cooler setting at night. - We're not big TV watchers, but for those who are, I think you need to sign in to Netflix, Disney+, etc... with your own account logins. The hotel does not have its own subscriptions. Overall, this was a great, budget-friendly place to stay with a group!

The TV is so small (estimate 36 inch ) and in the corner so far away. No fridge and when I called for ice the told me it was on a different floor but we had no ice bucket, it took them over a hour and a half to deliver one. The bathroom had terrible lighting and my wife couldn't put her makeup on. The entire suite is very old and needs a major upgrade before i stayed here again.

And at night there is so little light pollution you can see all the stars. Very pretty! The room we stayed in (Forest Glen) is cozy and pretty basic, but it did its job well. The bed was comfortable, and the fan and air conditioning were easy to control so we could sleep comfortably. The shower works very well with good pressure and heat. There is a small TV if you feel like watching anything, but definitely enjoy the area instead! The Vermont Inn has a bar inside that closes at 9pm. We didn't try it, but it looked so nice and cozy. If you purchase directly through the website, then breakfast is included each morning. Every day they offer pancakes, french toast, or eggs and bacon, and then there is a daily special omelette. We tried omelettes, french toast, and pancakes, and all were quite good. And the coffee is surprisingly tasty. It appears to be a family operation with the kids taking orders. They are cute and do a great job! Definitely a great place to stay if you're in the Killington area!

There are many cozy public rooms to sit, play board games, read or just talk. The hosts Mike and Kayla were very friendly and accomodating. The location is perfect as it is minutes away from Killington and Pico mountains. The views from the lawn of the mountains are stunning. Rooms were excellent and there was plenty of space. There is a Sauna and pool outside during the summer months. We met a couple that were staying there and planning their wedding with the hosts and it sounded like it was going to be fantastic. They also host bridal showers and other events. The breakfasts were fantastic and our waiters Emerson and Jameson provided excellent service. Thanks to Mike, Kayla and family for great memories. I would highly recommend The Vermont Inn and we will definitely be back.

Spoke to the staff and front counter asking for help and they refused to do anything. Would not stay here again. This hotel room might as well be considered a smoking room. Absolutely sketchy place. Update: holiday Inn and Priceline refused to help us. The second day staying there we pulled the chair out to use the desk and there was a piece of crap under the table. Again, no help. They tried to move us to a different room but that rooms air conditioning and heating unit did not work and it smelled of mold and was extremely musky. Finally the guy from the front desk grabbed a rag and some cleaner and came and picked up the poop... we reluctantly stayed in that room. Horrible experience

Maybe not exactly Grand to the standards of Vegas, but Grand in service, politeness, and helpfulness. I honestly cannot say enough about the people who work here and the level of professionalism the aim to achieve. The driveway was a little hard to find though, I had to drive around a few other buildings to find a way in. The woman at the front desk was polite and pleasant, and the room was clean, with a fresh, well made, and comfortable bed. When I called the front desk for help getting on the internet, the same woman who checked me in was helpful and patient. But...(and there are a lot of buts..) The hotel is pretty dingy. If my room had been $87/ night, I wouldn't mind, but I spent $207 on the room for one night. The hotel was pretty hot and musty. The air felt stagnant - though the common areas and rooms were clean. I turned the a/c in my room all the way down, but the room never felt cool. The walls and carpets were very dated and had a tired look that won out against the more updated couches in common areas. The internet was awful, it took me 30 minutes, one phone call, and a trip down to the front desk to get online, and then the next morning, it had kicked me off again. The bathroom was tight, but workable, the water took a long time to warm up, but stayed hot once it'd heated up. The bath towels were horrible though - a cotton-poly blend that was not absorbent at all. Overall, I would stay here again if I had to, but next time I'm passing though Rutland, I'll try one of the little, touristy, motor-court inns or a Hampton.

I came across this B&B because my daughter had just moved to Vermont and I was looking for a B&B to stay at. I wanted something nice because it was my first time going to Vermont. I was so happy I had found this place, it was a wonderful experience. The B&B and farm was so beautiful. The owners were amazing and the nicest people. I'm sorry I can't remember their names. I had a room on the first floor. I remember mentioning to her that I was visiting my daughter and that I wish I could cook my daughter her favorite meals. The owner mentioned that they had an apartment like room on the 2nd floor with a kitchen that was already reserved, however if the people who reserved it don't show up, I could have the room. They did not show up so I got that beautiful room with a outside porch and beautiful view. My daughter even slept over for a couple of nights and I was able to cook some of her favorite meals. The stay included breakfast which was the best. The house was so charming. It was the best experience I ever had. The following year I drove and called to book a room and found out no pets were allowed. I was devastated. I would have been a life long customer. I highly recommend this B&B. Also, best maple syrup ever!
