All I wanted was a koozie, just a koozie No it's not a b-side lyric from a Suicidal Tendencies…read morealbum, but I was actually in a search for a collapsible style can koozie that wasn't a beer or sports advertisement. You would think it'd be easy, but when you're in search of something it becomes ever so elusive. Anyhow I walk into Spencer's... and low and behold I find a humorous solution.... a koozie that reads in pink lettering: "I'll drink all of you bitches under the table." It would have been perfect, because I actually don't even drink. So here I am with my best friend, with my $5 to be foam can sweater in my hand figuring I'd browse the myriad of other stupid crap they have in the store. Well that was until the clerk decided to inform me that I wasn't allowed to take photos in the store. See I did have a camera on a strap hanging across my back. Was I taking photos? No. Were the trade secrets of the novelty garbage they peddle ever in danger? No. Was there even a policy against photography posted? No. I'm a professional photographer, so things like this really irritate the hell out of me... seriously Spencer's is a dark hole of a store full of dumb ass wanna be x-rated overpriced plastic crap. Not much of it is worth photographing in the first place. And even if it was, who in the hell cares? So I put back the perfect koozie and I left with my $5. The store was dead. The mall was dead. Oh and I put a curse on this store as I left, so you probably won't want to visit it either.

I stopped into Kohl's yesterday on a whim to see what kind of dresses they had in stock. I'm…read morecurrently on the hunt for a royal blue dress (which is harder to find than you'd think), and sometimes I get lucky at Kohl's. While I didn't find the dress I was looking for this time, I still ended up leaving with a few things. I picked up some cute decorations for St. Patrick's Day and Easter, which I'm excited to put out, and also found a small clearance section with Valentine's Day décor that was marked down, so I grabbed a few of those items too. While walking around, I tried on a few boots, sandals, and heels just for fun. There were definitely a couple pairs I liked, but I already own way too many shoes and talked myself out of buying more. This location had a pretty small Fiestaware selection, but I still checked to see if there was anything I needed. We also browsed the graphic tees, which are always fun to look through. Before checking out, I stopped by Sephora and grabbed a few clearance items, then headed to self‑checkout. Honestly, I was so happy to see they have self‑checkout now. I used to dread going through the regular cashier line because of the constant credit card push. I know they have to ask, but being asked over and over, especially when you're buying one or two items, is just annoying. No, I do not want to open a credit card for this purchase. So yeah, self‑checkout was a very welcome sight. I couldn't believe how many people were still waiting in line for the cashiers, but that just meant I was able to get in and out quickly. I do think Kohl's is like a smaller version of a mall since they do have a ton of different brands and lots of options for just about anything you might need.

It was hard to locate and I had to ask a sales associate where they were located. All of the Juniors, women's, and plus size swim suits are mixed together, so you have to sift through them to see if they have your size. Outside of the swim suits, the store was very well stocked in every department. They had a pretty decent sale going on, and a lot of clearance/marked down items. Staff were friendly and helpful. They have a separate counter for Amazon returns. Store was clean and organized. Plenty of parking outside.
