Okay so here's the thing, this store needs a revamp desperately. And I don't just mean fresh coat…read moreof paint. This place tries but its failing in my opinion. Here's the Good.. *Every staff member I've encountered was just as nice a could be *The wall of pictures is a very cool and attention getting idea that could be tweaked but Def a good point of the store *The separate area for Furniture is great, I love that this place is so big that everything can have its own area *You have a nice parking lot, plenty of space for more shoppers to be there. But now lets move on to to the changes that need to be made... * Let's start with basics, the pricing is HORRIBLE. Clothing items are WAY overpriced for the quality and condition they are in especially due to the fact that there is a WAY cheaper option only a few minutes away in the Goodwill pay by the pound store. Example:$7.99 for kids or adult VERY used jeans? $6 for super worn kids pajama pants that were probaly $5 originally at Walmart? No. *The dress wall is NEVER sized, its just chaos and alot of the items are very old which I understand, these items are donated but price them that way. If you want to label it as "vintage" and keep the higher tag then develop a Vintage area and vampire ot up. * Also the tagging system, the hand written tags need to go. You need a more (and I hate to say upscale because I dont mean to only attract people with money) but trendy vibe. And just use real tags. It just looks better and little things like that do matter if you are creating a shopping experience. *The Fitting rooms are bad... This last visit i am happy that it didnt smell like someone went to the restroom in them but it still wasn't great. You have several fitting room, make them look nice. Yes a coat of paint would be great and plaster over the open holes in the walls. But also add some flair to them. Im sure you get donated decent rugs. Pick one for each room, clean the rug and then add a few accessories to give each room a theme that cute and attractive especially targeting female customers who are more likely to continue to shop and try on more items than a normal man would. *The floors in the dressing rooms are horrendous, they need to be covered and it would create a more welcoming area to linger and continue to try on things rather than wanting to hurry and get out because your afraid something might crawl out of one of the holes in the wall.... * The place needs a redesign and I dont mean you have to have money to do this. Use the donated items, hang some pics, add decor, the walls and space is all white but its not CLEAN bright white so paint the walls or maybe even just an accent wall. Add some mannequins, just ask for donations from the neighborhood or customers since you are doing a remodel. This place could bring in WAY more business which means you can raise WAY more money to help others which is why you are there in the first place. I SEE beauty in the possibilities that a Creative and Inventive Person with a passion for helping others and a good knowledge of retail and shopping trends could do to change this entire place around. I've never been inside the store and seen it busy, always just a few people wondering around but this could be so much more with just effort and heart! I hope someone reads this and sees the value in what I am saying. I have many more ideas but the is already pretty long;) If someone does read this and you are ready for that change, ready for someone with vision, desire to help others, experience in retail and the dedication to make your store the best it can be for others, then come find me. I would love to step in and manage this store and give it new life for your customers.

This is a Goodwill outlet (or sometimes called Bins), but basically a further discounted Goodwill…read more I posted the price chart (see photo). Plenty of parking. This place was huge with many bins filled with all kinds of things. You need some time to go through everything. I'm not experienced but there are professional searchers there so I just stand next to them and watch them go through it and if there is something that I like then I will take it if they don't. I got a cool Spider-Man/Venom shirt for about 50 cents. There are many good deals but you will need some time.

Have you ever dropped a broken Cheeto at a picnic and reached to pick it up, and then realized…read morethat's unnecessary, because the bugs will take care of it by nightfall? I think that's why the Goodwill Outlet exists. Staff don't label or stage or toss broken stuff. They leave it for this crowd. I saw broken items and intact items. I saw dirty items. I needed a shower by 5 minutes in and I stayed a good 30. I almost bought a few wooden hangers for a friend, but it turned out she didn't need them, so I left them behind. Someone else's treasure. I didn't visit the clothing area because I doubt I'd wear anything that came from this Goodwill Outlet, though I'm sure there are some gems. Goodwill Outlet is a scrapper's paradise. Not just a reseller's... I mean a metal scrapper's. Someone filled a cart with all kinds of metal goods. I didn't check prices, but the last time I checked, most things were by the pound. Tip 1: Get there early or you'll be waiting around for parking. Tip 2: "Early" may also apply to the afternoon, as the hours online suggest they close for 2 hours for lunch.

I love Refresh (5/5 specifically for their dresses). It's a beautiful secondhand clothing shop in…read moreBrentwood with a great cause!! (Proceeds go to St. Louis's foster care coalition--their HQ is also in this same building). They have a selection of normal clothes -- women's and men's -- on the bottom floor, along with shoes and accessories (earrings and jewelry). But what really stands out is their cute formal dress section on the second level! Perfect for prom, wedding guest, bridesmaid etc. They have floor length dresses for $35 and shorter dresses for $25. They even have a few floor length wedding gowns for brides for $100!! (Plus a section for mother of the bride dresses). I've gotten 2 formal dresses here so far with lots of compliments (wore one on a beachy vacation and another as a destination wedding guest)!! I visited again this week as I thought I'd look for a wedding dress here since they have super affordable options. I didn't end up finding a dress in my size since they only have a few but it was still really impressive they had some in stock at all! And at this price point. There were some beautiful dresses in smaller sizes as well with big princess-like ballgown-style trains. They also accept donations. You can either get a tax receipt or a $5 off coupon! The staff there have also been very friendly every time I've gone!! They have the store decorated currently for their prom season--girls who are in foster care who are accepted into their program get to shop for a prom dress for free! So cool!

**May 2025: Monday Afternoon Visit**…read more My friend and I wanted to check out the thrift scene in St. Louis, but unfortunately a lot of the charity shops were closed on Memorial Day. I called ahead to see if Refresh had different hours and fortunately, they were open! There's a parking lot behind the building and when I stepped in I was really impressed by how nicely arranged everything was. It definitely gave off boutique vibes and there's a dressing room on the top floor along with many aisles of formal/prom/wedding dresses. The price point for the casual day-to-day items were a little higher than that of a Salvation Army/Goodwill, but everything was steamed and in really good condition, plus all the proceeds are given to St. Louis's Foster Care Coalition (and no tax). The men's section was pretty small, but the women's was really stacked. When I went to the 3rd floor to check out the formal wear it was like a kid in a candy shop. They arranged the formal dresses by size and there were some really incredible finds there. Unlike downstair where everything is priced individually I believe all short dresses were $25 and the long ones were $35, and my guess is that these dresses are left over from their Cinderella project (gifting girls a fairytale prom experience without worrying about money). I think I spent almost 2 hours in the shop and I still didn't get to try everything one, but I was happy with my purchases. One thing to note in the future - I will wear proper spanx/strapless bra to improve my formal dress shopping experience. Otherwise, this charity shop is a fantastic place to support a great mission and treat yourself! It's a win-win!
