The food court was absolutely packed with people from a field trip so it was hard to enjoy the food we ate but that's not really their fault. However, the bathrooms in the food court are a joke. Not only does it smell like their was sewage that flooded the floor and they just mopped it up with a dirty rag and called it a day (smelt like feces and mold). The stall doors have holes where the locks should be (feels really safe and private). I really enjoyed the feeling of people being able to not only open my stall door while I was peeing but they could just peek in whenever they would like. The stalls also where all missing pieces at the bottom and felt like they could collapse on you at any moment. Just overall didn't feel sanitary or safe. Only reason I will return is because I love sea quest. read more

I don't live close so I never come here. I did today because I had a gift certificate to SeaQuest that I took my grandson to. (My review for SeaQuest is separate from this one) Mall is right off the freeway exit, and is easy to spot. I had no idea which entrance to park by until I saw their sign on the side of the building. Signage was miss leading as we tried to enter through the wrong door. The entrance that we parked by was the entrance to the food court which my grandson wanted to eat at when were leaving. Signs to locate SeaQuest once you are inside are well placed to find the entrance if you are paying attention. There is a small play area right in front of the entrance to SeaQuest that my grandson wanted to play at. I told him he could after we were done with our adventure. This play area on the bottom floor of the mall has enough to keep a toddle busy for a good hour. My grandson loved it and didn't want to leave. The mall was bustling with people. I don't know if this is normal, or if they were there returning Christmas gifts, or shopping their crazy sales that were going on. I really wanted to go shopping, but couldn't with a little one. I didn't think he would enjoy that, especially when he was having so much fun. Same stores as any other mall in the valley, so I will just shop at the one closest to my house. read more

I don't know how I missed this...I used to spend gobs and gobs of time there years and years ago. Of course, now the area is completely changed, transformed into something entirely unrecognizable from then and it's a mess, with everything clustered on top of everything else. Still, there are some gems to be found, but it will take some hunting. The inside is nice and clean, which is nice, but you really really have to want to go here, because you can't easily see stuff until you're nearly right up on top of it, perhaps the most marked change from those bygone days. Progress, I guess...maybe I'll come back in another 20+ years and see if it's still standing at all. read more

Over the last 12 years, I have watched this mall slowly fade into irrelevancy. I am unsure of who the investment group is, but their lack of attention and refusal to invest in the upkeep and appearance is shameful. Today, we needed to stop in for a quick clothing pick-up, from one of their national retailer tenants. The outside walls and surroundings are in desperate need of paint and repair. The entrance doors have missing or loose handles. It's rather depressing, to be honest. Once inside, it doesn't get much better. The floors are outdated and in horrible condition. Many store fronts are vacant and their is really no decor, to add to the ambiance. The main escalator is broken, which no big deal, life happens, right? However, they have a poster board sized professional appearance printed sign, in a metal store sign stand that reads escalator out of order. It would appear this sign has been up for quite some time. The best way I can explain what has transpired at this mall over the years, is to liken it to an experience some can relate to. It's like visiting an extended family member, who never cleans their house and sits around in a dirty shirt, drinking all day. Sure, you want to stop by and provide the attention and support they deserve, but after you leave... all you can do is shake your head and ask "what happened!?!?!?" Then, you progress to a feeling of sadness and want to figure out a way to intervene. So, I will leave it at this. The mall is aged and desperately needs some help. I appreciate the fact that a few national retail stores have continued to stay open. I am also grateful to have a mall near by. However, if it continues to be neglected and it's needs ignored, a day will come in the not so distant future, when there's nothing left in this location, other than an abandoned eye sore. So why 3 stars. Simply directed to the retail stores that continue to stay open and provide the opportunity to still shop their brands in a close location. They are saints for sticking it out. Without these stores, I would give the malls by itself, a sold 1.4 stars. To the Layton Hills Mall investment group or private equity owners. Shame on you! Get it together and clean this mall up. If you can't do it or don't have the financial resources to do so, sell this property to a group that will do what it takes to revitalize and renew! It would be a real waste to let this mall continue to deteriorate. read more

Growing up, I remember my parents bringing me here to do back to school shopping at JC Penny and other stores. Every time I come here, there is a nostalgic feeling I get. I enjoy walking the corridors and browsing the windows and grabbing a bite at the food court. Brings me back to those simpler times With the way the world is shifting from brick and mortar shops to online shopping, it's been having an impact on the mall. I don't come very often but each time I do, there are less and less people here. I avoid busy shopping days like the weekends or Black Friday. The mall is clean. It is easy to navigate, and easy to access. Being so close to I-15 makes getting here quick. There is always ample parking on all sides of the mall. read more

This mall is quaint, yet it gets the job done. If you're looking for a place that has good ol' JC Penny's, Eyebrow Grooming Kiosks, and a tasty food court--you've come to the right place. I parked on the JC Penny's entrance, and every time I've been here, that parking lot seems to be less crowded. So hit that up if you're like me and love to park as close to the door as possible. My nose then took me on an adventure to the food court, where I basked in the glorious food they offered. Between Hot Dog on a Stick, Mrs. Fields Cookies, Chick Fil-A, and Dairy Queen, I knew I wouldn't leave without all of my cravings being satisfied. To top it off, there was lots of eye candy eating there as well, bonus point for the Layton Hills Mall. My best purchase of the evening was a Peanut Buster Parfait from DQ. Hot fudge and Spanish peanuts creating layers in between scrumptious ice cream--really I couldn't have asked for a better deal. I then headed downstairs to a store entitled "Cotton On". I've been looking for a cheap, yet nice shirt for a while, and they had some stellar deals. I walked out with a $10 baseball tee and a feeling of giving. You see, this store donates portions of their profit to needy children in the world, so-- "YES, of course I'd be willing to round my total up to $10.50 and donate 7¢ to the children!" Every little bit helps, and I thought that store was awesome. TIPS & TRICKS: * If you don't want to be stopped by the hordes of kiosk workers, just look straight ahead and act like you're on a very important mission. Odds are only a few will corner you into trying their latest and greatest hand soap. * This mall is small, but what's better than a mall that doesn't leave you out of breath walking from one store to another? * And elevator is offered for those who cannot take an escalator. read more

I've been coming here for as long as I can remember as I've always lived close by. My family likes to shop so I know this place like the back of my hand. I like to come in whenever I need a pick-me-up, or just want something to do. I don't always find things I need, but I love when I can find a good sale! I feel like there's frequently new boutiques that come in and as quickly as they do, they go out of business! I really enjoy the stores that the unique, especially like cosset! I'm all about supporting small businesses, and cosset is like a family owned Lush! Must stop in if you have the chance! read more

They were really clean and required masks. Not optional. I felt safe walking around in the stores and in the mall. They have Security walking around the mall which I think all malls should have so I give them kudos for that. Sometimes a few hooligans can ruin it for all so i think All malls should have mall cops. They were friendly as well. Most all people there were in a relaxed good mood. I will be back soon. read more

Layton Hills Mall is the bigger of the two malls in Davis/Weber county. Macy's is probably the best store in the mall IMHO. The food court is of decent size and variety. Most of the basics can be found in the mall and overall the stores are good. Not as good as malls in Salt Lake or Utah counties though. It is hard to review the mall as a whole as each store inside has its pluses and minuses. As a whole the mall is big enough to waste an hour or two before a movie or dinner. read more

Decent mall. There isn't much variety in terms of stores, but there are mall essentials such as clothing, phone repair, shoes, video games, etc. My experience here wasn't the most pleasant as I was stopped by someone trying to sell lotion at one of the booths who insisted I buy it no matter how many times I let them know I wasn't interested. I also went to GameStop, which had somewhat of a better experience. I would come here if needed, but not all the time. Though I have to say: there is a Pretzel Maker here in the food court, and their pretzels are soooo good. read more

This place is funny. It almost feels like a warped back in time to the late 90s. It's somewhat of a sad environment. It's almost like they built for high amounts of traffic but it just never panned out. None of the stores are vacant, but there's a definite lack of patrons. I don't know how some of these stores even stay open. I have to come here every couple of months to get our jewelry checked out at Zales. I suppose it's a totally average mall experience. Nothing extraordinary, no super high end stores, but it is across the street from some of the better sushi in the state in my opinion. read more

Honestly, we don't come here for the shopping. It's usually a short escape out of the house if it's too dark or cold or rainy to play outside. Our routine usually consists of Chick Fil A in the food court, letting my toddler play in the play area (created by Weber State) and maybe a Mrs. Fields cookie on the way out. Tossed Pizzeria is really good. I recommend that! The individual businesses are employed with friendly people. The mall itself is a little depressing. Not many places that interest me and not many shoppers. But im not really a mall lover, so youll probably never see an outstanding review of one. I'm not really helping them out by stopping in to use their free play area, but my kid loves it. It's pretty cute! It's outdoors/Ogden themed, with slides, a canoe and a log to crawl in and out of, red box turtle to climb on. The toys are padded, so they're soft and easy to climb. Thr the floor is carpeted and extra cushy for the spills and dives expected by kids. Sometimes it gets way too crowded and we have to leave before I get too annoyed, but it's usually pretty pleasant otherwise. There are padded seats surrounding the entire play area, so parents can sit and zone out on Facebook while their kids disappear. No really, put your phone down. I've seen parents frantically looking for their kids that slipped out of the entrance. This mall kind of seems like it's hanging on, trying to do "big mall" things on a tiny scale. And that's ok. Being big doesn't always make you the best. Just a few kiosks, which is ok because I hate being solicited. A small play area, which is ok so you can keep an good eye on your kids. Just a few places in the food court which is ok so the choices aren't overwhelming. The parking is ok and that's ok. A little walking never hurt anyone. There's always a lot of cars, but when you go inside it doesn't seem to match the handful of people. I'm beginning to think the new interactive aquarium they have there is where everyone is. It seems pretty cool. We haven't checked it out yet. We priced out hiw much it would be for us three and extras, like feeding the creatures would cost. We're going to have to wait, but that's ok. It will give us some time for thr newness and possible crowds to die down. This mall is ok. I'm glad it's there and will be bummed if it ever closes. Check it out. I walked this mall in 10 minutes...TWICE. Really small but has all the basic components of most malls in the US. Personally, I'd rather just drive the extra 30 mins to SLC for better options. read more

Nothing over the top or out of the norm. Selection and variety of stores is very standard and basic.

This is a nice mall. Has the usual stores, and was pleasantly surprised by the kid's play area. The mall in our previous town also had a play area, however, most of the structures were repaired with silver duct tape. Layton Hills Mall's play area was well maintained. We were there about an hour, and there were a few kids who were far too old to be there. Would have been nice to have someone patrol every once in a while. read more

Next best mall is in SLC so if you are in Northern Utah this is your best mall. They just added Dick's Sporting Goods store and that helps. Gateway is SLC is still Utah's best mall but Fashion Place may become that soon. read more

If you go here, don't waste your money at their Orange Julius (smoothie/drink place at food court). Worst customer service. I bought 3 smoothies from them, when I got my order, They had mixed up the order. My niece order a pina colada, size medium and i order a blueberry pomegranate, size large. When they give it to us, they had given my niece a large pina colada and myself a medium blueberry pomegranate. when I went to go tell them that they mixed up our sizes, the people there were so rude. Idiot workers, if they had shut up and listen for me to explain that they had messed up our sizes, I wouldn't be angry (side note: I wasn't even mean when they messed it up and didn't even argue). They were rude and didnt even let me finish what I was saying, instead they started to raise their voice and try to argue that I was wrong. I knew what I order losers. Anyways, just my rant of these dumb little kids providing poor customer service. If you order from this location, hope they didn't mess up on your order and if they did, hopefully you guys didn't get the kids I got serving. read more

Steve(The store manager), at the Diamond Wireless Verizon Store, outright lied to try to sell us new phones. We asked him specific questions about our plan and if certain options were possible. He told us no. We left that store, went to the layton Verizon, and had everything taken care of exactly how we wanted it. Not only was it possible, it took all of five minutes. Beware, these guys are just out to scam whoever they can snag walking by. read more
