I've been wanting to try Moonflower for many months now and had a chance the other day. Their marketing game is on point, beautifully packaged and presented product. The shop is set back from the road so you can easily miss it, maybe some additional signage would help. The shop is consistent with their refined aesthetic but is tiny, maybe only two customers can be in the shop simultaneously. The younger staff who helped me was very nice and knowledgeable about the product. The macarons are sublime, gorgeous and authentic (crisp on outside, proper feet, slight interior chew). The flavor variety is delightful. I love that some of the flavors are unique and unexpected such as frosted animal cookie. My favorite was the pistachio raspberry, there was an actual raspberry in the center. They change up their flavors every month. Truly a one of a kind bakery in the area. Clearly a lot of care goes into the product. I will return again and again. Merci!

They also sell some very cute greeting cards, earrings, magnets, etc. We ordered two drinks (Ube Espresso, Crème Brûlée latte), a flower pot mini cake (chocolate cake with raspberry filling in a decorative flower pot), a crème brûlée donut, and a spinach puff. The desserts were good, with the flower pot mini cake being our favorite. The chocolate cake was moist and the raspberry filling was balanced. We didn't love the flower frosting on top, but it was very pretty. The donut was very unique and filled to the brim with a fluffy cream - though we both thought it could've had a bit more flavor. The dough was perfect - soft and pillowy. The crème brûlée top made for a fun eating experience as the thin hard sugar had a satisfying crunch. The spinach puff was also delicious. Flaky pastry and cheesy filling - very comforting. The stars of the show were the drinks. The coffee was superb - balanced, smooth, and rich in flavor. While I didn't find the ube flavor to stand out, the ube espresso drink was still one of my favorite coffee drinks I've had. The Crème Brûlée latte was my friend's favorite - it was the perfect dessert drink. It even had the sugar crust on top. I would definitely come back to try more of their menu!

Well before it's charming renovation, back to when it had leather bar stools at the bakery counter and Jim in the back making the best apple fritters you've ever had. I come whenever I'm in town and it's always good. I think more than anything I come for the nostalgia. The Rice Krispie treats are always a solid pick and I enjoy them a lot. Same with the smiley face cookies, the bakery frosting is the best. I got a parfait for the first time since high school though and was sorely disappointed. They used to use wake robin yogurt (which I do remember them discontinuing some years ago), but now the yogurt is SO sweet. Overall it makes the parfait too sweet with the homemade granola and blueberry coulis. I couldn't help but notice how much smaller the parfait portions are too. They used to be full sized cups and now they're nearly half their former size which was definitely disappointing considering the price has certainly not gone down. In summary, the bakery will always hold a special place in my heart. Been going since I was a baby. The treats are good, sandwiches are solid, and they have a wide variety of beverages. I decided to try the apple tart and the rugelagh. The apple tart was flaky and the filling was classic apple pie flavor. The rugelagh was a different type of pastry but equally as good. They are take out only but there are so many places to sit and eat ( when the weather is nice) and the views of Skaneateles Lake are amazing. If the weather is bad, take it home or just eat in your car!
