I called Buckeye Electronics and spoke to Bret regarding a Samsung TV that was not powering on anymore. Bret's shop had a backlog of work due to COVID and he told me he wasn't able to get parts for months but now he can order parts. He took the time to troubleshoot the TV over the phone and diagnosed the problem to be a bad power supply. He gave me a reasonable "ball park" idea of the repair cost over the phone which I thought was reasonable compared to what others were quoting. I also found out Bret was an Air Force veteran like me and am glad he's using his military training to make a living on the civilian economy. There are not enough guys like Bret around anymore. I dropped off my tv from repair in June of 2018. I have been I contact with this place four times and once in person. We have moved out of town, but my Daughter was going to pick up the set. Well it is now August 6, 2019 and have to this day not heard a word from them. When I made contact in the shop back in January of this year I was told he couldn't get parts for it. said he was going to clean out his storeroom in the spring and may be able to find one off another TV. I have not heard a word from this person. This is a Samsun TV, how hard is it to find parts for ?. Bottom line is....He can keep the TV and the 100 dollars I paid him if he is that hard up. You my friend are nothing but a swindler, liar and a person who shouldn't be in business. Anyone thinking about this place for repair work, better think again. DO NOT loose your money. Throw the TV away and use the 100 dollars toward a new one. read more

Dropped off some audio equipment and was told it'd be roughly three weeks to repair. After four weeks and not receiving any updates, I called and asked for an update. I was told they were still working on them, and would need another week. I waited another week and called back irritated that it'd been now five weeks. I received an attitude, to which I told him to take out the components, return it to the condition to which I dropped it off and that I'd be in the following day to pick up my equipment. I was again met with tension and said I was not allowed to pick up my equipment and that they would not be ready to be picked up. I drove to the shop only to find it was closed, even though I went during business hours. Fast forward another six weeks and I finally received a call saying they were done. All said and done, I was without my equipment for a total of three months, nine weeks longer than the initial estimate. Finally happy to have my equipment back, I picked them up and heard they were working temporarily at the shop. I got home, hooked them up and the problem persists, only this time the static "hiss" noise is far louder and more noticeable. I am extremely displeased with how I was treated and that even after three months, my equipment is still not fixed. He does warranty his work for 90 days after pickup, however I will not be returning. I am completely disgusted with my experience. I understand some products may be more difficult and require more attention, but please provide status updates if repairs are going to take longer than expected. The fact that I was never given any updates and received a negative attitude when I would inquire about my equipment warrants a low rating and a warning to others. read more

It's interesting. I nearly never feel compelled to speak publicly when things aren't right. I live by giving credit when it's due because most of what we hear are the negatives. I also go well out of my way to provide benefit of the doubt nearly all the time. There is no longer any doubt here. In fact, this situation is the catalyst behind finally signing-up to this site. Though I should have run away when owner / service tech "Brett" told me to expect up to a one-year delay, I still surrendered my vintage higher-end audio receiver with him because, at least at that time, I was unaware of any other repair source for this sentimental piece of gear (wife's father's old receiver) and I wasn't in a hurry at all. Honestly, his surprising initial attitude appeared as if he wasn't even interested in doing the work. Nonetheless, he had no hesitation to remind me my $45 deposit was non-returnable. After three months, I called to check in and was told he was having a difficult time locating replacement vacuum tubes and though he had a Chinese source he did not want to use them. Disappointed he chose not to inform me of his search difficulty, I agreed to continue to wait but also followed-up with a request for him to get back to me in a couple of days with the identifying numbers for the tubes he sought as I was willing to take charge of that potentially elusive search. He agreed to let me know within a few days. After two more weeks of expected silence, I showed up and demanded my equipment be returned "as is" knowing I would lose my deposit. Once my equipment was in my car, I asked him, "why didn't you call me back with the model numbers of the necessary replacement tubes?" He responded, "Oh, I'm really uncomfortable putting in tubes I didn't acquire on my own." I replied, "I see, so instead of making me aware of your tube source discomfort when you originally agreed to call me with this information, you decided to leave me in mystery this whole time? And worse, you prevented me from helping myself where I could have been searching for a tube replacement source myself despite your unwillingness to work on it yourself?" Thanks for nothing. The MO of this place appears not necessarily interested in taking-in your equipment with intention to repair. But they have no hesitation to take-in your deposit money knowing it's theirs no matter how long they take to make your repair. Caveat emptor. And FIY, after a web search using the terms "AV" and "Specialist" I solved my needs well and quickly. read more

My experience was much like the other negative reviews here. So much so that I wish I would have come here first! I called the shop to see if they could handle the repair on my TV, was told it wouldn't be a problem. When I dropped it off, I was given an estimate of 2 weeks, all sounds great at this point! 2 weeks came and went, no word from the shop. I called and was told that they had "tried some parts and they didn't fix it". Ok...At 4 weeks I visited the shop for a face to face, was told the same thing "tried some parts, didn't fix it, more parts on order". At 6 weeks I had enough and stopped in the shop to take my TV home and demand a refund of the deposit I made. I was met with mild hostility and told not to come back, don't think that will be a problem. read more

If you want to throw away $100.00 (non-refundable deposit) this is the place to go! Buckeye Electronics had my TV for one entire month and not a word from them. I finally called them and was told they fixed the problem for which I had brought it to the shop but now there was another problem that wasn't there when I brought it in? We are now approaching the three month mark and not a word from Buckeye Electronics? I believe that is how they make their money, $100.00 non-refundable deposits! I should have known when I dropped off my TV set, the huge number of sets laying around the shop were in every available spot. Sigh,$100.00 down the drain. read more

I took a TV there to be repaired and it took 6 week for the owner to say it wasn't fixable. Every time I called he was very rude. I guess since he got my large deposit, he felt he could say anything to me. He made up a different excuse everytime I called to check on it. When I told the owner that I wanted to pick up my TV, he told me he had other deadlines to meet and didn't have time to put it back together. Finally, I went to pick up the TV and he was pissed off. So he gave me the TV with the power cord not attached. I called to see I could pickup the power cord and he said "what do you need the power cord for it does work" and said he wasn't responsible for keeping up with the power cord (that was already attached to the TV) read more
