WOW!!!! All I was looking for was a quick sandwich. Instead I got a food religious experience. The…read morefirst eye opener was the smells. If you're older like me or just lucky you'll remember walking into an honest to goodness mom & pop deli and that smell they all had. Oh my, there it was in this unassuming small specialty shop. How small? One deli display case and lovely sausages etc hanging on hooks in the back wall. I was welcomed quickly by who turned out to be the owner. I said I was looking for a sandwich and the owner told me there was a list of available sandwiches on the other side of the deli case. Sure enough there was a very simple listing of very basic sandwiches. She says I make almost everything here. Which takes my food mind racing a bit. All the sandwiches looked good but none initially caught my eye. So I resorted to my tried and true "what do you recommend?". I had been thinking about a traditional Italian sub earlier. So I told her and said or whatever you can recommend. Kind of like telling a sushi chef you want "Omikase" aka chef's choice. She got a big smile on her face and asked "do you want half or whole and all the way?" Which of course I did. She disappeared into the back. I just stood there engrossed in all the smells and varieties of cold cuts, sausages etc. she then appears with a bag and says anything else? Of course that released the food Kraken in me. I'll take 2 of those and one of those and... she turns her back for a second and then whirls to give me a hunk of dried sausage and well, there it was. Holy Smokes, all I could say was I'll take that as well. I don't even know what it was. I think it was the spicy dried kielbasa. Who cares the flavor was so good it doesn't matter really. I quickly paid, CASH ONLY is on the door, so I was prepared. I thought I was going to make it home. I did get to start the truck. But the smell just took me over. So if you see the picture I posted of the sandwich please realize 2 things. It's the second sandwich and I had dropped in the bag and it fell apart so had to cobble it together for the shot. I ate the 1st "half" already. Anyway the sandwich was made EXACTLY as I would have made it for myself. I like onions but they don't like me so I shave them as thinly as I can and use them sparingly. Next is the tomatoes which I like thickly sliced and finally I like my sandwich lettuce fresh, crisp, dry and about a 1/4 thick. With plenty of really good condiments. OMG this lady was my sandwich sole mate because it was PERFECT. The mustard was a taste sensation on its own. But the hook was she had heated the sandwich up. I know we can get sandwiches hot many places. That was just it. It wasn't hot or toasted etc instead it was Just heated to a taste enhancing yum warmth. Ok, ok I know this is a lot for a darn sandwich. BUT if you're one of those. Those people like me where food isn't just fuel. And one of those who loves fresh flavorful baked bread and ingredients that are so good by themselves that put together the right way is one of the simplest little pleasures in life. This was one of those unexpected moments. Enjoy!

I knew that this would be great just by smelling the BBQ aroma in the air. We shared the BBQ Brisket Sandwich with added corn and an added grilled poblano pepper. This was a giant pile that you need to eat with a knife and fork. But they don't get the 5 stars for generous portions. They get the 5 stars for taste. This started off on a very tasty bun that was baked with cheddar cheese and jalapeno peppers IN THE BUN. The smoked brisket was so flavorful and so tender and was a perfect mix of lean and fatty. That really delicious fire roasted poblano was the perfect delicious embellishment to the sandwich. This was really great. Hope they are this great all the time!

Pros: They serve alcohol. Including my favorite draft Big Blue Van. Brisket and pork both had pretty good flavor. Cabbage in the slaw was fresh. Cons: All proteins were cold. Like not even warm. Coleslaw even though the menu specified cilantro and jalapeño I only tasted raw Cabbage . Ribs weren't tender. I know they should have bite but mine was tough with a artificial smoke taste. Brisket was shredded not sliced. Service. Bartender was nice and personable but I sat for 10 minutes with a empty and she never asked if I wanted another even though the place wasn't busy. Bar itself is a sh!t hole no points taken off because they are remodeling. Overall the meal as a whole was meh! Decently priced but...I'm not sure if it was worth the trip.
