We were driving on the local highway and stop near by the gas station to spot this donut store next to it. We decided to explore the store and take a break. Our decision did not disappoint us. The clerk is very friendly to show us the fresh donut they have. They have cronut. I got the pumpkin cronut is delicious. Among the donut we also got cake donuts, special donuts off from menu. All of them are delicious. Price is reasonable. I hope they open in Tampa. But that not going to happen. We enjoy that while we are here. They also have boba drinks that you can select. Overall they are very good. Best donut in the area. Love the fresh donut.

Okay... doughnuts are important. They are necessary for survival! But when you're traveling around the country you can't ALWAYS find the very best of everything - unless, maybe, you're just lucky - like we were!! OMG! Fireworks!! Stars!! Trumpets sounding!! - How much do we offer them to travel around with us?? Does everyone HAVE a price?? Anyway, while in Knoxville... WE are only eating doughnuts here - we've tried ALL the rest, and we've settled on the very BEST!! - - of course! Their doughnuts are light and fresh with NO oily aftertaste!! The owners are amazing - doughnuts!! it's what they do!! The son makes the best mocha coffee in the world, too... if you're interested! Ya gotta get there early, though, if you want things like Bear Claws - doughnuts fly out of that place as if they have wings! You can special order, too! You'd never know, by looking at the small shop attached to a filling station, that heaven was waiting for you just a few steps aways - - - sigh.

Bright and Shiny Apple Fritter on a Gloomy Day... Yes Way!

In six words: I'm In Love With This Place. If those 6 words aren't enough, I'll elaborate: These donuts are buckin' good! A friend introduced me to this place several months ago and I've been here now probably 10 times, usually around 9-10am. If they were open after 5pm it would probably be my favorite dinner spot and my doctor would curse me. But all in moderation, I try to pop in a few times a month, jump-start my blood sugar and feel good about supporting a local owner-operated business. THE STAFF: For a seemingly small little operation, I see a lot of different helpful smiling face's behind the counter. They all seem to take pride in their work and that adds to my love of stopping in. The owners are definitely the lifeblood of the success here. THE DONUTS: Great variety and I'm slowly working my way through the inventory. I love the sausage roll (both spicy and regular). On the sweeter side, my favorite is probably the apple fritter (cherry is also great). The cinnamon roll is delicious, as are the cream-filled powdered donuts you ask for, which are made to order (you can choose white or yellow cream). These fried, stuffed and powdered dough puffs of goodness are likely to make a mess all over you, so wear the right clothing if you're munching while driving. I may or may not be speaking from experience. Hmmm... Yesterday, I tried the glazed red velvet donut. So good. There was also blueberry but red velvet screamed my name the loudest. I've tried the glazed twist, glazed croissant (Omg yes, the glazed croissant... I just wish it were bigger ). The egg & cheese breakfast croissant was also good. Next time I'm gonna try the Long John. There will be many next times. Many. THE COFFEE: Well... I haven't tried the coffee. It is definitely not a featured item here because it wasn't until yesterday that I first saw a little 4-inch square sign on the counter next to a tiny bell that reads "ring me for coffee". I do love my coffee, almost all day, so I'll investigate this sneaky offering later. I suppose any coffee with a buckin' good donut is good coffee, but I'll let you know if it teeters into 'great' territory. THE CONCLUSION: I love Buckin' Good Donuts and I think you will too. Until next time...

Birthday donuts

Ordered 6 dozen donuts for a birthday party and they turned out amazing!!! They were so fresh and beautiful. Pink strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate with pink and white sprinkles! The service was so kind and helpful. I called ahead and I'm thankful for them accommodating us with the special order. Thank you all at Buck'n Good!

Filled with Bavarian Cream

This is an average donut shop attached to a gas station. There's is nothing special going on, just average donuts, with standard selections. Actually, the selection was on the limited side of average. Customer service was just okay. It took a while for someone to come to the front counter. I ordered a cream filled donut. She asked if I wanted Bavarian cream, and I stated no. I went on to explain that I'm not a fan of Bavarian cream, and wanted the other one. She replied, "the white cream", and I said yes. Somehow, the Bavarian cream donut ended up in the bad. I'm not sure if she was trolling me, or if it was an honest mistake. Anyway, I tried a bite. It was good, but I'm not a fan of the Bavarian cream, so the rest of the donut went in the trash. I'd go back, but this is far from the best donut shop I've ever been.

The wait is worth it if you get there before 8 am. The omelettes had a lot of filling and were very good. The buckwheat pancake while thin had a really nice texture. The pot roast eggs Benedict was good but the biscuit is so thick and soft and the meat is soft that it would be better with an English muffin for a texture factor. Place is cute log cabin vibes and very busy.

People are frustrating--especially on vacation. But, if you are irritated, do not assume that you won't be understood. I speak 3 languages well and understand more. The wait was awful, but to be expected. And our waitress was helpful and friendly--though not super attentive. She was busy, though, not lazy. The food was decent. Not earth shattering. Bottom line...if you want BIG food. And you have 1.5 hours to wait for food...it is a great tourist spot. The biscuits were light and fluffy. The cinnamon roll bread is well done...but the flavor was tame and the glaze was not good. My son loved the Aretha Frankenstein pancakes. However, if you want good food, there has to be a better spot.

Well, this was a fun surprise!…read more We were looking for a cool brunch place that we'd never tried before, and although it was outside of town, it was totally worth the Uber. It's ADORABLE. Love the decor and the pretty and interesting atmosphere. Lots of cute little things in this spot. Everything was delicious and the portions were impressive. I was really surprised by this one and highly recommend anyone coming here for a good bite. Server was super sweet and took great care of us; she helped me decide on my order because I was truly so stuck.

Right when we walked in, we were asked if we had a reservation. It was our first time, so we didn't realize one was needed. When I said no and asked if we should have had one, the host responded, "Oh, that would have helped." That alone felt a little off-putting. We even offered to come back another time, but she said they had a table available--just that it was reserved for 1:00 PM (it was 11:55). We asked if that meant we'd need to leave by then, and while they tried to reassure us, it definitely set the tone for a rushed experience. We had barely sat down when the waitress immediately asked if we were ready to order. Caught off guard, we asked for water and coffee first. As soon as those arrived, we quickly ordered beignets, chicken and waffles, and biscuits and gravy--trying to be mindful of their time constraint. Unfortunately, our food took over 35 minutes to come out... which didn't align at all with the expectation that we'd be out before 1:00. When it finally arrived, the food was underwhelming at best. The chicken was okay, but the waffles and biscuits and gravy were cold. And the service? Just as cold. Overall, the experience felt rushed, unwelcoming, and disappointing from start to finish. Needless to say, we won't be returning. I truly hope they reconsider how they treat guests--especially first-time visitors who come in excited to try their restaurant.

Headed to a Smokies game, we chose to stop into SmashCity for a pregame burger…read more The service and burger came up quickly. I opted for the truffle smash and large fry. My buddy opted for the Spicy Smash. The burgers were mmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmm great, Juicy and the bun held up. Fries were fresh and would like to see maybe a topping or poutine option for them. Cool spot to get some AC and great burger before a Smokies game or a night in the old City.

We already had 250 miles under our belt for the day. 4 more hours to home. I was sick of fast food…read moreand we were making good time so we decided to venture off the road, but just a little. SmashCity wasn't far off of the interstate, it had good ratings and although we'd been eating burgers and fries quite a bit on this roadtrip, a good burger and fries really sounded good. All of the reviews were right on - this was absolutely NOT fast food - it was fast, really fast, but the speed was just bonus. As we usually do, we split. We chose the Carolina BBQ smash. The burgers were juicy - if you're not careful, I guarantee you'll be wearing it. Two critiques, it definitely needed more sauce - I just added some of the SmashCity sauce from our fries and it worked but I really would have liked to have had more BBQ sauce. Second, the fried onions were quite burned. I pulled off most of them. The hand cut fries were piping hot, just the right amount of greasy and seasoned perfectly. Splitting the burger was a good call - I'd never have eaten the whole thing myself. The burger and fries were just over $20. When you consider a Big Mac meal at that clown place is $14, SmashCity is almost a bargain. Paul, the owner was like the energizer bunny - he was everywhere at once. Personality oozed from his pores. Make sure you tell him Sue said hi! (He won't remember me but just say hi anyway!) Now I wouldn't say SmashCity has the best burgers - that award goes to our friend Jerry. He makes a pretty mean smash burger on the blackstone. If you have an extra half hour, skip the fast food burger joints, get off that highway, and go let Paul fill your belly for the rest of your trip! You'll appreciate it!
