I don't recommend this place because I think there's not much knowledge with the color theory. I wanted to do my highlights and I wanted a really light color, but they made it really dark. The one mistake I did was booked the color appointment instead of highlight, but I was really clear to the hairdresser that I wanted a really light highlights. I also showed the reference picture and also she asked me the contrast that if I want it light or dark and I made it clear that I want light contrast. Before the process I said I don't care, I want something that is warm color for my highlights and they made it still dark and cool tone. I feel like as an artist, as artist myself , you should be knowing the basic skills for colors as what are cool and warm tone and I think if you don't know that I would not consider that you should be even giving service if you're not capable of basics . The hairdresser was pretty nice, but she did realize that she messed up and I could see her tone and the way she pursued me changed into very nice way. at the end, she was telling me it looked really good but the color did suit me, but it was not what I wanted. I wanted the light highlights. The end color looked like one solid color I just did it myself. Would not go there again and would not recommend for color. read more

TL/DR: 1. Bubbles made me feel inconvenient for my thick hair. 2. They Bleach burned my hair. 3. I had to cut off all my waist long hair to my shoulders. I cried!! 4. Management Jocelyn and Morgan Taylor refuse accountability and will not refund me for the damaging service due to 'timing'. 5. Bubbles has no refund policy, their decisions are arbitrarily made. Let me preface this Negative Review with: I have been going to Bubbles since I was a young adult. They have always been the place to go if you're unsure and just need to get the job done. Bubbles has never failed me before until now. I went in on July 2nd to get Babylights. The stylist was nice and seemingly knew what she was doing. However, she kept making comments about my hair thickness and worrying about how long the top was taking to lift. She sat me under a heat lamp for a long time. She told me due to my hair thickness and how long my dye job was taking her that she had to push back an appointment twice so next time I need to let them know I have thick hair... *Anyone who has thick hair knows, once someone complains about your thickness and how it inconveniences them, you are never letting them touch it again!* After my appointment at Bubbles I could not brush my hair. It was knotting and dreading, I even had to cut out a hair tie! That's when I realized something was wrong. I had previously tried multiple hair masks but nothing was working. Since I work full time managing two companies and am also a full time student, I made an appointment at a salon next to my house as soon as I could, which was last week. At my appointment they informed me of the following: My hair was bleach burned from Bubbles. It was completely fried underneath and the top wasn't properly developed. Apparently the stylist is supposed to use a slow developer underneath and fast on top! However Bubbles used the same level all over my head. The best recommendation they could give me was to cut my damaged hair and then give it an extensive Olaplex treatment. Apparently Bubbles did not mix their bleach with Olaplex either. This is where Bubbles earns the bad review. Hair mistakes happen. My hair was down to my waist and it's now to my shoulders. I absolutely cried. I also had to pay for extensive hair treatment twice in two months. So I called Bubbles to rectify the situation and got the complete run-around and unnecessary attitude from Jocelyn, the assistant manager. Jocelyn told me technically she could refund me but since it was two months ago, upper management would call me back to discuss. 48 hours passed and I called back to receive another waiting game for the manager to speak with me. I submitted an online form. In total 4 days passed, I made 4 phone calls and submitted two online forms. The manager finally called me back. Her name is Morgan Taylor and she is the District Manager and very busy. So I am to accept and understand her being busy as to why she is delinquent in getting back to me- but that logic doesn't go both ways. She denied me a refund. As I came to understand it, Bubbles has no refund policy, they just arbitrarily decide who is worthy. Morgan deemed me unworthy because it took me too long to have free time to assess my damages and ask for a refund. She also alluded that I could be making this all up. Through our conversation I could tell that Morgan had not taken any time to look into my account before calling me to see I have been a loyal customer. She did not even offer me credit to keep my services. She just didn't care. From this experience I've learned that Bubbles has very poor management on all levels. They are unprofessional and don't take care of you. Unfortunately making my hair feel like a chore, burning it, giving poor service, and not taking accountability has lost my business forever. read more

I came here because my stylist moved out of state. I needed a trim badly. So I booked an appointment online. The reviews seemed decent. I didnt know they are sister stores with Hair Cuttery, which is a step down. Cassandra was my stylist. Very nice and friendly when I entered. She prepped her station before I got there. Very clean and sterile place. I had explained that I haven't had a cut since the pandemic started. My hair had dry ends. I had asked about lightening my roots, and pricing. So she asked some older woman kinda tall and thin with brown curly hair, I think she was the manager. From the beginning I did not like her vibe. She began to ask questions with why won't you use this or how come. She sounded really insulting and sarcastic. First of all, I'm not your child to be grilled like that. I simply asked, because I can dye my own hair fine, it's the roots I need help. I had end the conversation, because we all know how female hairstylists can be gossipy hens. I was, you know what, it's ok. I'll go elsewhere for roots... Not only that I asked a direct question to her. I didn't ask a question that could echo all throughout the salon. However, I can expect this childish behavior at these type of salons, they tend to say petty things like omg you have so much spilt ends or you have so much hair etc. However, Cassandra was always pleasant and was very engaging. She gave me a nice clean cut so I can grow out my layers. She styled it nice and did not weigh down my hair with products, I will come back for my haircuts. I made an appointment for 6pm on a Tuesday. I arrive 10 min early thinking I would be able to start earlier. I walk in there was no one at the front desk, there was three employees working all together, all saw me walk in but continued to do what they were doing. The lady sweeping the floor saw me twice and was on her phone. At this point I was pretty frustrated as I was waiting for 10 min with no acknowledgment. Finally at 6:05 the lady comes up to me and asked if I needed anything. Yes! I have an appointment and been waiting here for 10 min! However, she did apologize for babbling on the phone and not coming sooner. My hair stylist was Athela. Friendly but didn't really seem like she knew what she was doing. She was very messy and rough with my hair. As she was washing my hair water went all over my face and neck. She asked what I wanted to do with my hair. I said in the past when I come here I always get a trim with long layers with an angle cut and then in the end with a straight iron style. She seemed very confused as what I was talking about as she didn't know what angle cut I was referring to. I tried to explain it to her the best I could but then opted out of it. As my cut was ending her 6:45 appointment came and she still had to style my hair straight. She rushed into it and in the end my hair wasn't fully straight. At this point I was extremely tired and frustrated I was just ready to leave. Won't come back to this location again. read more

My stylist name was Rose. I got lucky because I had a vague idea of what I wanted. She walked me through the entire process. The picture is with the sun beaming so it looks a little light with the sun. It's going to get blinder gradually but I'm very happy with it! She covered all my horrific grey roots and evened out the multiple box colors I had in my hair. I plan on returning and gradually going lighter because I want to be blonder first the summer :) great experience, very good service. read more

Do not go here if you have "textured" hair. From the moment I walked in, I was treated differently because of my hair. My hair type is 3c and I was told that any service I received would be extra because my hair is "thick and textured". It was apparent that the stylist does not know how to work with black hair types. I was repeatedly reminded that my hair is thick, she didn't use heat protectant when blow drying my hair and had to ask another stylist for oil for my hair, which they did not have. If I didn't have an event to go to the same day, I would have left. It's really sad that in 2023, stylists are not properly trained to deal with all hair types and the micro aggressions I experienced that day, ensured that I will never return. read more

Before even making an appointment, I messaged the business and asked who specialized (and I included photos of my last haircut) in the hairstyle I had. They recommended Becky. So I made an appointment. I arrive and she sits me at her station. I show her all the angles of the pictures my last stylists in Tampa took to show future stylists the shape and length. So then she shampoos my head and gets to work on the cut. It didn't make me feel anymore comfortable when she told me, "I just learned how to cut that style"..... :face palm: wow great recommendation. From the front, the length and style look great. Enjoyed conversation with her as well. When she dried my hair and turned me around with the mirror to see the back my reaction was, "What the f***, it's way too short! (Something along those lines...). Becky then says "it looks exactly like the photo you showed me. NO!! It does not! The back is way too short and you clearly can't see that! Take a look at the photo I'm posting. The top pics are what I showed her and the bottom is what I received. Not the same at all. Sorry I'm not coming back here. I have been a consistent and loyal customer here for 5+ years. Wow I will never return due to their extremely poor customer service tonight. I arrived 12 minutes late to my appointment for myself, my 4 and 2 year old. I walked to in check in and the stylist serving as the receptionist told me she had called me and gave my appointment away after waiting 15 minutes. I looked at the clock and it was under 15 minutes from my scheduled time and NO phone calls were made to my phone. She refused to give me the managers phone number and refused to reinstate my service as I arrived and the replacement client was not even there. The hair stylist I usually use saw me and offered to take me after her client but I was too turned off by the poor customer service received. I will never be back to any bubbles salons and suggest you do the same!!!! read more

I was hesitant about going here bc off the reviews. All I wanted was a very simple blunt cut, all one length, no layers. I got Kate who was very nice. She seemed to understand what I wanted. I didn't want the blow dry bc I prefer to do it myself. The cut looked fine. When I got home, I cried and flat ironed it and you could see how uneven it was. And on one side. I called the next day and they said to come in free of charge and a senior designer would fix it. When I showed up, I was informed that the senior designer was busy and Susan who is a designer, like Kate would fix my hair. I kept showing her where it was even and that she needed to cut from the shortest layer ask around to get it even. She kept cutting the back. I would say yeah, but you can see her on the side The hair isn't even. So she'd go back to the back of the head and cut more. She then went on to tell me that bc my hair is wavy, it will never be a blunt straight line. Which I find not just ridiculous but tells me just how unskilled they are in cutting this simple cut. I've had my hair in a blunt cut forever. I've had stylists that know they need to cut from underneath. The only reason my hair was so uneven that I wanted out cut was bc during quarantine, I cut it myself. So my hair, was cut by Susan mostly in the back, hardly at all in the side that was uneven and the left side wasn't even touched at all. I just rejected and said yeah that's fine bc I wasn't getting what I wanted. The stylist was clueless. This $50 + tip was a waste of money. I will never go here again. She is an amazing stylist - very detail oriented in all she does and she listens to what you want while adding in her expertise. It was my first time getting my hair colored at Bubbles but my second time getting it colored professionally. She quoted me for everything before she began. I had hair coloring done (balayage), shampoo, blow dry, and curls. She did an absolutely beautiful job. She explained the process to me, how long it would take and answered any questions I had. They also overcharged me for fees and added extra to my visit without approving with me. I did not realize until after I left so I reached out to a manager to discuss but no contact back. I have never been so upset with a hair cut. My hair was literally HACKED off! I asked for it to be just below my shoulders and instead have my hair almost to my chin! Tammy cut off literally 6 inches at least of my hair. It took everything in me not to cry as I sat there knowing there was no way to fix this awful cut. It's my daughter's first Christmas and now all I'm going to see when I look back on pictures of this holiday is how awful I looked and felt due to this horrible hair dresser. When I told her how upset I was she didn't even care, no discount, nothing. She asked how she could fix it, how am I suppose to know! Oooookay! Let me start by saying this was one spontaneous move I did for tonight. Before going to Bubbles I called to make sure they were taking walk-ins & asked about the prices. We went in at 730pm. The receptionist was really nice greeted us & offered us drinks. I liked the environment since it's new it's looked good to me. I had Sunny she was wonderful. She dealt with my "knotty" hair. The only remark I really didn't like about her was how she said my hair was a birds nest. An upscale hair salon should keep it professional. Other than that she really did a great job and also had patience. If anyone visits this Bubbles she's is a good one. I highly recommend her. The next incident that occurred was my sister. She wanted to get her hair done too. Sunny was busy with me. There was one other stylist available complaining and complaining about work and the previous stylist leaving their areas dirty and leaving everything a mess and just complaining you can tell she was not having such a good day. Sunny had asked her if she could do my sisters hair. The other stylist did not know that she was my sister so she said well maybe we can reschedule her and Sunny said well that's her sister. So obviously we came in together at the same time and asked if we could be attended so why reschedule her if we had our both spots guarantee. So Sunny asked her can you please wash her hair before you leave?... The stylist never reply and just ignore the question and left. I felt bad because I know it would have been easier for her. We felt a bit uncomfortable being there and the last ones we felt as if we were a bother. The next incident that occurred was the pricing. I had called ahead of time to find out the prices because since it was a spontaneous move I had enough for only what I need it and it was exactly the $40 ($35 for the shampoo,cut, & dry & $5 tips) no one had mention to us the $10 extra charge for having long hair. So when I was checking out I was surprised that the total came up to $45. I felt bad because I told her she had specifically told me it was $35 and neither the receptionist or the stylist or anyone told us about the extra $10 charge. Honestly money is never an issue with us but today we had just came from fixing my car and I was left with the $40. One suggested "just call your parents and ask for a credit card" so I called my boyfriend and asked for the card and after they said oh we have no way to put the info in it's only swipe sorry. It was a bit frustrating but we were able to fix the problem and charge the initial amount they had told you. At a upscale salon things should always be kept professional and accommodating. Overall, I loved the outcome of my hair, but the experience was not so great. I am giving it a three star 1 for Sunnys great job, 2 for how my hair came out, & 3 because the salon looked nice. read more

This place is the worst! In 2015 I visited Bubbles Salon...and it was horrifying!Rosa is the name to avoid!!!!! She is terrible ..her customer service skills are non existent... she acted like she didn't want to give me a bob ..which is the only thing I wanted.and argued with me about the fact that she didn't know how to correctly do a bob.!! I immediately got out of her chair paid 5$ for her hair washing skills .. I could've washed my own hair but I was happy to run out of there.. I almost forgot to take the cape off. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon and they were able to take me in right away. i asked for Shampoo, Cut & Blow dry, she asked a lot of questions regarding my styling preferences before taking any inches off. Such an upsetting and disappointing experience at Bubbles. I'm typically a PRatPartners client but they were booked and I really needed my hair blown out. The blow out was fine but she used AWFUL products in my hair and then blamed ME for having dry roots! NO your products are TERRIBLE and my hair looks like straw now. I also could not believe the INSANE prices for what was the WORST hair treatment of my life! After a haphazard blowout she strained the flat iron through my hair. Anna K cut my pixie which had no shape to it and was slowly morphing into a mullet!! She listened to everything I wanted and gave me exactly that and more! I couldn't be happier with my haircut. it's so hard for me to find someone I trust with my hair because I have short hair and any little mistake is very visible but Anna did a great job!
