Kara is an experienced professional who has been in the pet grooming industry for over 14 years and has recently decided to begin at home pet grooming. How it works - Kara comes to your home with all her supplies and sets up shop right in the comfort of your own kitchen. She has all the professional accessories and gear which is quite impressive. She uses your kitchen sink to bathe your pet and then sets them on her grooming stand to dry them quickly (with her number of professional dryers). She then proceeds to cut your pets hair to the length and style you desire. What is so awesome about her service is you can sit and watch her work so you know your pet is safe. But what is even better is she talks with you the entire time and explains to you what she is doing and why. She is very informative and teaches you many things from information about your pets breed, flea application and overall pet/care information. Every single time, he is given a bath, nails trimmed and given a hair cut PERFECTLY! Kara comes to do at home visits, which makes my life a million times easier, as I don't have to drag my cat down three flights of stairs and into a car, across the city. She simply grooms the cat in the kitchen sink, or whatever large basin/sink you have available. Figaro would rather see Kara 10 times than see the vet once, she is that gentle and loving with him. Kara listens to what each pet wants and makes sure they are comfortable at all times. Somestimes if Fig is a little grumpy, we do not get his belly or tail trimmed, which I appreciate not forcing him to do anything he does not want to partake in. She is a wonderful and amazing person, and I always look forward to our chats while Fig is getting groomed. She has a ton of professional equipment, and uses whatever works best for your pet (ex: The louder blower dryer actually worked better than the quieter one for my cat, but I am sure with others it would be the opposite situation). She is knowledgeable about animals/breeds/etc, and is more than willing to share any information and suggestions. After the original owners of Puppy Love chose to retire and sell their business, everything…read morechanged, and none of it for the better. A horrific experience with the new ownership that required a visit to my veterinarian after a week-long stay traumatized my little lady, and I chose to never use them again. That is until the (2nd) owner chose to sell the business to Graham and Kathleen - the newest owners of Puppy Love Playcare. Similar to the original owners, Kathleen and Graham also live on site. After learning of the new change in ownership, I chose to give them a call and spoke with Kathleen for quite some time. Kathleen was forthcoming and answered all of my questions. I then decided to give Puppy Love another try and am so thankful that I took the chance! My little old lady was terrified when we first pulled up and she realized where she would be staying. I'm sure she was remembering the trauma she had experienced with the previous owner. But after picking her up from that week-long stay, I couldn't have been happier. It took Kathleen and Graham a few days to get her to let down her guard and relax, but she finally did so. And she showed no signs of stress when it was time for her to come home. After such a positive experience, I chose to use Puppy Love again for a two night stay, with the same results. This time my little lady acclimated even faster and enjoyed herself even more. If you had previously used Puppy Love prior to Kathleen and Graham's becoming the new owners and are afraid to give it another try, either because of a bad experience or reading some of the horrible reviews posted during that period of time, I would suggest putting those fears aside and giving the new owners a try. Going forward this will be the only daycare or long-term boarding facility I will use for my little old lady.
