Absolutely LOVE my hair! I was in dire need of a makeover as it's been a long while since I last saw life in my locks. The salon was able to squeeze me in for a next day appointment...right in time for my vacay - yay! Carla is incredibly friendly and a pro at what she does. She was honest about what was achievable and steered me clear of further damage by going for colors that don't work well for my current situation. Fast forward a couple hours and I couldn't be happier w/ the results. I received so many compliments everywhere from strangers that made the time and money spent well worth it. Thanks so much!
I am so so happy I came here for a haircut !! I had an uneven haircut and it needed work. Long story short, Kengi saved my hair !! She was a good listener, meticulous, and did not rush . She took her time and made sure my hair was better than before. She did exactly what I wanted ! Haircut is $85 and is worth it when you have someone like Kengi. She is the best ! I'll be coming back next time.
Ellie took AMAZING care of me and my hair for my first ever perm. I am turning 30 this year, and wanted to do something different - especially since I work from home ever since COVID, and felt I needed a boost to feel more put together. My hair was thick, virgin (never processed or colored), and stick straight. I wanted some more wave and volume to my hair. Ellie understood, and helped walk me through what to expect with my first perm which helped, as I was pretty nervous that I would ruin my hair forever. The process took about 3 hours, and was a breeze. My hair feels just as soft as before, but with so much more body and shape - I am obsessed with it. See pictures attached - before, immediately after the perm, and after my first hair wash and style at home. I will definitely be back, and think I have finally found my "home" salon in SF!
Love to come back here everytime, It was my third visit last week and I love everyone here special mention to Yuni who's always friendly but "BLAIR" looks after my haircare. She has the most amazing magic hands I call them I am not even kidding. She makes me feel so relax and cared for. treats me like a Princess, It was so hard for me to find a new Salon & stylist for a while eversince moving to the area. I am so lucky to have found them.
I am so happy with my first creative color results from Kengi at Bubble Pop! Went in for a consultation for purple hair, and she really spent time making sure I understood the pros, cons, upkeep and maintenance of what I wanted. I had pics, but she also brought up more pics on the computer and helped me decide what would look best with my natural brown hair. We eventually settled on purple balayage. For the day of the appt, we went over the pics again together, making sure we both knew exactly what I wanted. Once she got started, she was so meticulous and thorough, didn't rush, and was fun to talk with so the time seemed to fly by. When it came time to add the color, she made a few mixes and had me choose which one I liked the best, which I really appreciated. The results were even better than I imagined. We had settled on "WOW factor, but still classy" and that's exactly what Kengi gave me. She styled it beautifully, took pics, and when I got home, my husband loved it as well. As I looked at it more at home, I found so much more beautiful dimension to the color that I hadn't noticed at the salon. It's been about 3 weeks now, and it's only slightly fading at the ends to a beautiful rose gold color. I highly recommend Kengi to anyone wanting creative color!

I've been coming here for the last year to get mani/pedis with Mai, and she is PHENOMENAL. Her gel selection is stunning...she is thorough and fast and detail-oriented...she has gel foils and holographic powders and all sorts of fantastic options. Additionally, she has a little dremel kit that she uses to zip through filing and buffing and whatnot...honestly she is the most advanced nail specialist I've found in the city, and she's so sweet and kind to boot, and her prices are incredibly reasonable. I always leave so happy and feeling pampered!! She's like part mom, part mad scientist, part master artist...and she remembers you and treats you like a friend. Definitely worth coming back to, time and time again.
Fantastic salon , lovely staff & great work . Shelly is amazing . She knows her stuff & they all seem very talented . Many stylist dressing hair beautifully . Also , had a manicure , really sweet tech and nails look perfect . :) The owner is charming . Of course great neighborhood to shop and dine before /after salon treatment . Definitely deserve 5 stars , really cannot say enough good stuff about this hip & comfortable salon . On California @ Fillmore . Check it out ,you will be happy you did !
This review is for Mai, the nail artist! I had been on the hunt for a new sf nail salon where they do hard gel manicures and was so happy to find the service here. Hard gel nails last longer than shellac "soft gel" only and my nails are finally long enough for the coveted almond shape. Mai is fast, clean, and the pricing is modest compared to other nail-only salons. I make up for it in the tip for this hard working woman!
I'm still speechless with the result of Shelly's work to my hair. She made an amazing job!!! I am so impressed with her passion to her work of art. I am not goin nowhere for my hair color coz I finally found whom I want Thank u again Shelly!, Can't wait to see u soon I highly recommend Shelly! Respect!!!
I love this place! From the receptionist, owner, music and their casual atmosphere. Of course the most important reason why I love Bubble Pop is cuz of Kengi! I tried to go blond a couple years ago and I turned orange! Kengi fixed me up in a couple hours and now does my color and cut every 6 months. She is cool, easy to talk with and open to feedback. I recommend her highly!
Update: The salon owner, Yuni, called me and apologized. She said that she understood my frustration and she agreed that, while my hair looked good when it was done, it had not been what I wanted. She offered me options to resolve the issue including credit for my next service or a refund. The owner was incredibly kind and I truly appreciated her taking the time to give me a call. The 4 star review is for the great customer service. I can tell the owner cares about her patrons and wants them to leave her salon looking and feeling their best. I went to the salon today with virgin blonde hair seeking "icy blonde". The first picture is the inspiration picture I showed the stylist, Kengi. The second picture is what my hair looked like when she was done. I don't have a before picture, but basically, it's exactly what the after picture looks like. Though I'd normally just call it a loss and pretend I was happy, I couldn't. I'd spent $320 for less change than I would see squeezing a lemon in my hair and going to the beach. When I showed her the inspiration picture again she said, "well, she has a shadowed root, and that would look unnatural on you." Perhaps she could have said that to me before she started and we could have discussed other options. I'm sure people come in all the time with unrealistic expectations, but I am a blonde. If a natural look was what I wanted, I would have stayed at home. The stylist offered to try again, so I came back during her next opening. The third picture is what it looked like after the second treatment. It's, again, not what I asked for. She asked if I wanted her to do another round of highlights, but honestly, I was worried my hair would be damaged after 3 treatments in a day. Not to mention by that time I'd lost all hope in getting what I wanted. I feel badly writing this review because the stylist was very kind. I could tell she wanted me to be happy, and she offered to fix it, but I feel like she was not listening to me at all. I am basing this rating off of what I received for the price I paid.

Every time I get my hair done, The reactions are crazy ! I'm a server and bartender so my customers always mention 'I really have to tell you. Your hairs amazing!' I was walking on the street and a guy chased me and said 'I just wanted to tell you that you are so beautiful and your hairs amazing!' (First time guy followed me) She's been doing my hair over 16 years so she has 100% understanding the condition of my hair and what could bring 200% effects. If you explain exactly what you want and be honest about it, she will turn your hair to what you want. Just explain! read more

After neglecting myself for a very long time, I decided I wanted to do something fun with my hair for the first time in my life. Initially met with Ellie who gave me the contact information for Yuni, the amazing color expert. I was treated with such kindness and care. Yuni spent so much time to talk about what we could do within my budget, and gave me lots of tips and information to know what to expect. She was all about the details: giving consideration to the different ways I usually wear my hair, my hair texture, and different ways of styling and parting it. Yuni is exceptional! You are in the hands of a master when you step into her salon. I can't wait to go back for more fun color again in the future! read more

Yuni fixed and saved me from an unsuitable haircut that had been bothering me for the past few months! I had originally gotten a haircut in Singapore that immediately after washing did not work for me. I literally could not put my finger on the reason why. It was not until I visited Yuni that I found out my Singapore, extremely layered haircut wasn't the best for my hair texture and thickness. Yuni warmly welcomed me and was very honest. She said she would try her best to fix it and have my hair grow out more smoothly. She followed through with her promise and I felt so much happier/relieved afterwards. Highly recommend for people to visit her while her client list is still open! I'll def be coming back! Btw they very recently moved their salon location to 1610 Post St, Suite 106, SF 94115. I had the most ridiculous, awkward and funny experience today at this salon. I m a business owner too and don't want to harm anyone. At least i can give you some tips before you go there. Bring your own water, don't ask for anything, don't compliment and have cheat-chat with masters. While you think you are having a warm conversation it actually can turn out to different way. My master was Blair . I loved her work. She did great job with coloring and blow dry but unfortunately couldn't get hair cut because she wasn't in her mood. But i have to be fair she felt sorry about it and didn't charge me for the service . Yuni ( salon owner) cute lady but I think she has so many things on her plate, that's why take easy on her. Don't ask for help. She doesn't know how to solve the complications. In general salon is nice, masters are really good but customer service is meh. If you have a strong nerves and you are careless about it , then it's not a problem. At least seating quietly you will get a beautiful look:) Thx to the team for the unforgettable memory and free hair service. read more

I came here to get my hair done 20s style with finger curls for a holiday party. Carla was awesome and my hair turned out great. She was super friendly, informative and listened to my requests. It took about 2 hours but it looked awesome! I got lots of compliments on it during the party, thanks Carla! However, the only thing that I wasn't satisfied with is that when I called to make the appointment, the woman gave me one price over the phone, and when I actually paid I got charged about $40 more than what I was told on the phone. read more

A week later, and I'm still getting compliments on the fabulous haircut Carla gave me. I would recommend her services to anyone... In fact I have done just that on a number of occasions as the compliments have begun pouring in:-) The salon itself is chic, stylish, clean, and in a great part of town; their staff took great care of me. The front desk attendant was particularly attentive to my needs during my session- making sure I was taken care at all times. I have a pretty unruly mane of hair; and to make matters worse, have been attempting to cut my own hair for the last few months, so needless to say Carla had her work cut out for her. Despite the challenges, she managed to give me a stylish, versatile look. I can slick it back w/ product for professional occasions, or let it fly natural when I'm performing with my band etc. Her rates are also very affordable, meaning she and I can continue sculpting a unique look w/ "touch up" appointments every 2-3 weeks. No more taking matters into my own hands...I won't trust my hair to anyone but Carla. Thanks guys! read more

Great experience great haircut and color!!! Originally I had planned to go elsewhere for a color and cut, but because they were fully booked and couldn't take walk-ins that day, I had to look elsewhere. I called in at 10:50 AM, they had a last minute appointment cancellation, and said they can take me if I can be in at 11:15. My hair is very "wirery", thick, dry, and have been unmanageable. My hairstylist was Shelly, and she is amazing, the whole time I was in the chair, she explain to me how my own hair works, the best way to manage my hair, and gave me the best haircut I've ever had! My hair was also crazy with different colors and washes from previous dyes and years of weird colors and fades from over washing. Shelley took the time to mix up four different batches of dye for different areas of the hair and it turned out so beautiful! It even looks super attractive the day after, after I slept in it. Shelly is an amazing Styleist and I'll definitely be going back! read more

I love my cut from Kengi! I came in not really sure what I wanted done and I last minute decided I wanted to get bangs. She made sure that the style of straight bangs that I got suited my face, which I'm super happy about! I will definitely be visiting again! Great customer service, friendly for four legs, and two. My husband love this location for their expertise and the experience. Walk in are welcome and their nail designs beautiful and they offer luxury pedi and mani. There's a meter parking lot right next door superb convenient. Tips are only acceptable via cash!! read more
