Slight flooding of the cuticle on the right side of my thumb. The other nails look okay, though!
Frances C.

Let me preface this by saying that I am extremely good at doing my own nails and I'm very meticulous about it. The only reason why I pay to get my nails done is if I'm too busy to do them myself and I have to attend a special event. I've been to Bubble Bath about 3 times based on the great reviews here on Yelp. They're decent but not excellent. The salon itself is very clean and relaxing ambiance with quiet music, and the tools used are clean or disposable - this is all great. They have a very large selection of shellac polishes, which I like because while I own many nail polishes, there are always colours that I don't have. My gripe is that in my 3 visits, I have yet to be wowed by the application of the polish. Each time, I have had a different nail technician and I expect a better job but they're about the same. For example, I've experienced flooding of my nail as well as polish on my skin. These are both fairly minor issues, but issues nonetheless. What bothers me the most is that they don't paint the whole nail - there's always a visible gap of bare nail on both the left and right edges and sometimes there's a large gap between the cuticle and where the polish starts (I like when the polish is really close to the cuticle edge without touching it). I always ask them to repaint my nails if I see this, and I'm thankful that they do fix it every time. Price-wise, it's slightly cheaper than other nail salons in Toronto that I've been to. If you're not super anal about your nails like I am, you'll probably love this place. Overall, I would give it a 3.75/5. The price is good, the colour selection is diverse and the salon is well-kept. I just don't think they do a good enough job to justify me going on a regular basis.

Shellac after less than 2 weeks

I have been coming to this nail salon on and off for several years since it is conveniently located near my office. Their shellac manicures generally don't seem to last as long as other spots I've been to but due to its convenience I kept coming back. However my last experience has guaranteed that I will never return to this spot. After just a week and a half my nails started to chip and bubble. When I went in to enquire and see if I could get them fixed the head lady at the front was incredibly dismissive and said they don't do touch-ups after a week. In the middle of explaining this to me the phone rang; she picked it up mid-sentence completely ignoring me as I stood there. As a nail salon who's business is dependent on repeat customers I was shocked by her behaviour and complete disinterest. I will definitely not be coming back.

Great price, clean interior and awesome customer service. My manicurist was very meticulous and didn't rush the appointment even though I came in 40 mins before closing time and it took a couple of tries to get my old shellac polish off. I can't say how much I appreciated the manicurist taking her time and ensuring the finish product was professional. They have a huge ran of shellac colors, and I can't wait to go back and try one of the many colors. I notice they have sterilizer machines and they also use a spray on your hands to prevent staph infections. The interior was clean and bright, and they had Netflix going with subtitles. The whole staff were friendly and again, didn't rush me because it was almost closing time. This is my new nail place and I will be recommending bubble bath spa to my friends.

This was only after 2 days.

I was given a gift certificate for a mani, pedi, and facial. It's a mixed review, hence the 3 stars. The mani chipped the next day, and by day two all 10 finger nails were chipped! I'm sure if u go back they would fix it, but it speaks to the very poor quality and I love far so it would be a waste of my time! The pedi was alright. While the toenails looked good, the lady didn't spend much time on my heels that still had lifted bits of dry skin on them when I left. The facial was AMAZING! There was a head and neck massage with it. There were many lotions and gels applied and removed. I left with my skin smooth and glowing!

Was so awful! I want a refund. I went in to get a wax before México and I warned the woman I had sensitive skin and j needed something more gentle like a sugar scrub and then she started waxing normally and now my legs are COVERED in red little bumps. I'm in so much pain and so irritated. It absolutely ruined my vacation and I would never go back for a wax at this place. I'm breaking out all over my legs and they are so sore it hurts to wear pants or anything. I'm very disappointed and would like some sort of action taken.

I loved my experience here! Jane did a wonderful job with my manicure and was very precise with the shaping and application! I'll be back for more of their wonderful list of services!

Great manicure by Kelly. Good value for the money. Highly recommend this place between College and Dundas, off of Bay street.

Rea at Follikill is the best electrologist I found in Toronto. I reached out to a couple companies…read moreas I was new to electrolysis, and their responses were nonexistent or less than ideal. Rea responded promptly and scheduled my sessions over a couple months. I am ecstatic at the results. Rea is the best around and offers the best pricing for her services. I never knew I could be hair free and it is doing wonders for my self esteem. Thank You Rea! If you have ever wanted to be rid of unwanted hair growth, try electrolysis, it's the only permanent solution and you are worth it!

After delays due to covid restrictions, I was finally able to see Rea in early March. I also…read morerecommended 2 people to her as well. I understood her policy was very strict and for the two appointments I had, I arrived on time. I was really excited because I do believe she's great at what she does and she specializes in black skin, which is a plus. A couple days ago I was alerted at work that my covid rapid test had come back positive. I was asked to take a follow up PCR test then go home. I knew I had my appointment on Monday, so I gave Rea notice. She requires 48hrs, I gave 24hrs. Bear in mind, it is Sunday afternoon and I've just been told that I've tested positive for covid. I explained that to Rea and she immediately informed me that I am to etransfer her the amount for my "late" cancellation ($195.00) or she will cancel all my appointments. I was taken aback and was very put off by this response. I respect the policy of any business I frequent, however I strongly belive that sensitivity, tact and compassion are pillars in customer service and in that moment, Rea was deeply lacking in those traits. Fortunately she was able to cover an hour of the appointment and told me to send her $65 instead or she will cancel the rest of my appointments. Because I was still willing to move forward with her despite insensitivity, I e-transferred her the amount. But after much thought, I decided that I am not interested in doing business with someone who cannot understand that in uncertain times like this - life happens. It's unfortunate because I was really looking forward to finally being hair free after struggling with this for so long. However "good work", as she calls it, means nothing without sensitivity and tact. P.S. I'd like to note that she requires payment for missed appointments or late cancelations because that means she loses money - which is fair. But I'd ALSO like to note that as a client, I'm paying for gas/transit, parking, my time, as well as paying for the actual service. I'm not requesting a free service or special favors. And although she has "no exceptions". I think exceptions should be made for Covid. I even told her I could send her a copy of my results to prove I was being truthful, because I was that serious about moving forward with her.

Since she left, however, the quality of service has noticeably declined. The new provider is consistently 30 minutes late for appointments, which is frustrating and unprofessional. I also recently received a peel that had no visible effect -- it felt like a waste of time and money. I plan to complete the few remaining treatments in my package, but I likely won't return after that. It's disappointing to see such a drop in standards after Nadia's departure.

I get the same procedure and the same amount of units every year. I decided to try this place out since they were offering a promotional pricing at the time. After I received my injections, I waited a month with no visible result what so ever. Mind you, I know how much of a significant difference this procedure makes for my jaw line, as I severely grind my teeth at night and tend to overproduce my masseter muscle. Hence why I get the injection every 8 months or so. I don't know if the injector was not experienced or if the Botox was mixed with saline water to compensate for the promotional pricing but I would never go back here again.
