We have been looking for a 2nd pug for a while and I found a beautiful little brindle lady on the rescue website. She was listed as Brownie but now she is Kiki! Submitted the application paperwork, gave Sara a call and she was very responsive and wonderful. She answered all my questions. We drove to meet up with Sara and Kiki and fell in love with her! Sara is completely rude and has terrible communication. On the phone she said she had a fawn female available and then I asked to see photos. When the photos came, it was actually a black female. I politely asked if she could send a video and she was incredibly rude with the response in the photo. She said in snarky rude response that she didn't have time to send a video and to see the puppy in person. She said the dog would be adopted immediately if put on the website, which makes me further wonder if she was selling dogs on the side apart from the adoption agency. I am over an hour away from Moreno Valley, and she belittled my small request for a video if possible. I don't Understand why she needed to respond to rudely as I genuinely wanted to adopt. We adopted this sweet boy Patrick (now Kobe) and so far he is everything we were hoping for in a dog. He is so sweet, he's energetic when he's outside but when he's inside he's a little couch potato. Sorry for the delay. However about a month to a month and a half ago my wife and i adopted Rocky (now his name is Howie) Honestly greatest decision we have made. Howie us such a loving and caring puppy. I brought the vet card to my vet and had him checked out. They advised that it looks like he was taken care if really well as well his shots were done as close to up to date as possiable (he was too young for rabies shot) The meet and greet with Howie, my wife, and Sara went well at a local park. We love our pugs. But they came covered in fleas , worms from the fleas and both tested positive for giardia. We were not home checked, our references were not checked , no one has confirmed we have gotten the pugs fixed. This is not how reputable rescues work. read more

I adopted a kitten from this rescue and I have been delighted. Sara is great to work with and this kitten is amazing. He is clean and well adjusted and has brought us much joy. I have stayed in touch with Sara over the past few months and she is always happy to hear about our kitty and enjoys the pics as she watches him grow. Almost two weeks ago, I adopted a male puppy pug name Wookie from Bubba's Hug a Pug Rescue. From the moment I brought Wookie home, it was extremely obvious that he had been well taken care of AND even well behaved (my vet has confirmed he is an adorable healthy pug). Sara was quick to contact me as soon as I sent in my adoption application for Wookie via the webstie. So quickly, that I was able to adopt him the couple days after sending in my application. She communicated clearly how the adoption works and provided me with Wookie's vaccination information, as well as his current diet when adopting him. It was clear that she was grateful to have someone adopt Wookie, and from that I could tell that she loves what she does. I've noticed other reviews have mentioned how Bubba's is a scam. I strongly disagree from those reviews. This rescue organization clearly takes care of the dogs in their care. They need the donations to keep their rescue up and running, to keep the dogs healthy in their care. Taking care of these animals is ALL out of pocket for them. I am extremely grateful that I was about to adopt Wookie through Sara. Couldn't be any more satisfied with getting the puppy of my dreams! read more

Just got off the phone with Sara and I am so disappointed with the lack of professionalism she showed me over the phone. This is our first time adopting and I am fully aware that these dogs come from bad environments. Considering she's part of a non profit "rescue" I would think she would benefit from being kind to potential clients. I emailed her asking if the pup Boots had any underlying conditions we should be aware of and instead of emailing me she calls me to insult me for asking a simple question. NOT ALL ADOPTABLE PETS HAVE UNDERLYING CONDITIONS but apparently her rescues do. Not sure why she couldn't email me that instead of calling me and saying "These are living creatures, not robots" as if I was an idiot. I told her I was simply asking because we'd like to know as first time buyers and she chose to correct me again by saying "you're not buying your adopting" clearly shes annoyed with her job. News flash Sara paying $600 for a dog to "help" your non profit so that you can be disrespectful and insulting doesn't feel like the best adoption process and feels more like we're PAYING YOU to be an ass and potentially truly saving these animals from you. I really hope you're more kind with the animals you are rescuing and maybe you should consider a different profession if this one stresses you out too much. I wish all your animals the best of luck in their journey, you on the other hand should surround yourself with kind people so you can learn a thing or two about communicating with actual humans. read more

Horrible place. Do not waste your time or money with these people. They claim to be animal lovers but they just love how they can rip off people. Bought a puppy from them 2 weeks ago for $600 and come to find out it was covered in fleas, ticks, and infested with ringworm. After spending over $300 at the vet to get the proper medicine and shampoo to start fixing the problem we decided to give them a call. She claims that she works at a vet office and would of given the stuff for free but failed to ever mention this to us when adopting (more like saving this dogs life). She only told us this after the fact and never during the adoption process. She even told us we can bring him back for a refund but the contract stated we have to bring the dog back in excellent condition (which the dog was sold to us sick). She acted like this is a normal thing in dogs. But I'm sorry, dogs sitting in urine and feces from himself or others is not a normal thing. They will try and say this is just part of the rescuing process, but in reality they are just turning and burning these animals so they can make a profit. If they truly cared about them they would of have had the correct tests, vaccinations, and treatment before they are put up for adoption, especially if you work at a vet. read more

I adopted 10 week old puppy from this rescue, and everything went smooth: I found them thru PetFinder, contacted them thru the app, and Sara answered all my questions and she was also sending me additional pictures. I had to pay half of $600 adoption fee, in advance as donation to the rescue, and then following weekend we went from Las Vegas to LA to get our puppy. Our girl was adorable and so sweet from the first sight. We paid the rest of adoption fee, and took her on long ride her back home. She was quiet and calm all the way, and I am glad that she is so good with travelling.. After several weeks Sara called to check on our puppy, and how she was doing - and that was really great, seeing that this rescue checks where puppies go and if everything is good. She is now 5 month old healthy, happy and smart puppy - and we are so happy to have our girl. read more

RIPOFF OR RESCUE? This rescue has no address on its website to send the police to. They posted photos of 5 dogs as being 8 weeks oldand they were not that old. It is illegal to sell dogs under 8 weeks old. I trusted the site and Sara Gains when we purchased our for forever dog. Took her to the vet the next day and she told us there was no way she was even near 8 weeks old. Her back molars have not broken the skin. She also told us she tested positive to a tick disease. But Sara Gains and Tammi Hill still sold the sick pups for about 300% profit and no checking who was getting the dogs. They also used PetSmart legal forms without any authorization signature from PetSmart. PROFIT OR RESCUE? Where are the ethics here? Wonder if well see 4 pups back at the pound due to their profit! read more

Unfortunately 12/26/18 we had to put our puppy Holly down. She was far too sick. Luckily, Tammi from the rescue worked with me and returned my adoption fee of $600 and paid the vet bill of $2800 - which was only fair. We were devestated but take comfort in the fact that Holly is no longer suffering. She was in so much pain at the end, but we wanted to give her a fighting chance, and boy did she fight. read more

I recently adopted a Yorkie from Tamie, and honestly it was the BEST experience ever. She is so sweet and you can tell she definitely takes good care of her rescue babies. My Yorkie "Chewbacca" was not infected with fleas like others have mentioned. But he did have a bit of a loose stool. Tamie told me to bring him back and come to find out it was tapeworm. When you had to put your puppy down, this fine rescue not only refunded your adoption fee, but also paid $2800 in vet bills you incurred. A backyard breeder, under similar circumstances, would have told you, "see you in court." This rescue did right by you and you gave them a one-star review. You're pathetic. Couldn't have been better! I have to admit, I was very nervous about adopting a pet as I've heard horror stories about various rescue organizations. The old "they are available", then "oops, sorry . . . " and then you can fill in a 1,000 different reasons they will give you. Plus there are so many other variables - health, temperament, dam / sire, etc. Sara couldn't have been more accurate, responsive or thorough in her communication. I can only imagine the volume of emails and this is done in her spare time. You can tell this is an act of love which is supported by her family as well. I found 'Boo', my 3 month old Yorskshire Terrier Mix on Petfinder and made a donation ahead of time to secure our face to face meeting in person. My heart was set on her and didn't want to lose the opportunity. This all transpired over a weeks time as I reside in Palm Springs and had to drive to Riverside to pick her up. All of the shots and spay / neuter were included in the adoption fee as Sara is a vet tech and works for a Vet Clinic. Plus we got some great perks / coupons while adopting at Petco. You always hold your breathe a couple of weeks when bringing a new puppy home in fear that they may be sick but I have nothing but wonderful and positive things to report! Boo assimilated immediately into my home with 2 senior dogs, loves to play, is full of life and keeps everyone on their toes. She is happy & healthy. . . you can even see it in her smile here. Hello all, i absolutely can NOT recommend this rescue ! recently i adopted a 10 week old puppy for $650 from Tammi. We brought the puppy home to find it was COVERED in FLEAs and lethargic. I called Tammi who we adopted from and was incredibly rude and unapologetic. We asked if she could just cover our vet visit and flea medication -- she did not. A week later the puppy starts pooping bloody diarrhea. So we take it to our vet to find out it has 2 parasites : giardia and coccidia. I can understand a dog rescue not being able to pick up on the parasites bc some dogs are not symptomatic right away, but how are you oblivious that a dog is covered in fleas and lethargic that you've been caring for weeks. I just do not understand. SHAME ON YOU. How can someone be so oblivious and neglectful running a rescue. Tammi the lady who we adopted from had a bunch of other dogs and animals coped up in such a tiny space( all of which are probably infected with parasites and fleas) Absolutely disgusting. This place is a scam that just wants your money. Asking for $650 for a sick dog that had absolutely no tests done. Do not adopt animals from this place -- there are so many legitimate rescues where animals are being properly taken care of and treated !! read more
