If you've read any of my other reviews you know I'm not the easiest person to please. I went to this place twice recently and was incredibly surprised by both of friendliness of the people and the quality of the food that was served. I ordered a chicken burrito and was it absolutely massive... Tasted fresh... and was served with a smile by two very respectful employees. One of them is Angel, a very friendly and upbeat guy. The other one's name I did not catch but he was amazingly polite continually using the word "sir. " You don't find this type of service in many places nowadays, especially take out food businesses. Expensive and just ok. Stick with Las Margaritas and El Limon, you get way more for your money. That being said, we never had Bubbakoo and wanted to give it a shot. I had a nashville hot chicken burrito and wife got a taco bowl. We also got some chips with queso. All three items were ok - nothing special. Honestly this place reminds me of Moe's Southwest Grill. I always order from this place. My husband and I absolutely love love love it a few days ago we ordered. I ordered my chicken bowl. The usual my husband got a burrito and I ordered poppers. My bowl was horrible. The bones, the amount of bones that I took out of that bowl it was horrible. I took pictures of it. I mean it was just horrible and I am a chef myself and I absolutely love this place but this time all I kept on finding were chicken bones, chicken bones, chicken bones, when I tell you, I had a paper towel full of them. Decided to give this place a try last night, as it is new to the area. Food quality very comparable to Chipotle or Qdoba. However, you get nickel and dimed for extras here like $2,49 for both Queso, $2.49 Guacamole, $.49 for Fajita Vegetables on your menu item. They tell you, "it's a little more." Not sure I agree with that assessment. The location is not ideal with limited parking. The restaurant is small with only 4 tables. I would consider this a takeout option only. The whole operation was very disorganized with like 10 people behind the counter and only 3 of them seeming to know what to do. We had to wait on our entrees for about 10 minutes, as there was no grilled chicken or steak available. They were both just being put on the grill. Considering they are new, I give them a pass on the service for now. However, the inflated pricing and comparable food quality will make me consider Chipotle or Qdoba instead. read more

I came to BB to try it out for lunch on a Thursday. Only one customer in the clean facility and the two employees talking and checking their phones off to the side. One looked up and saw me come in and immediately went to help with my order. Ordering menu is on TV screens above and I took a little time to figure out what I wanted. I ended up picking the shrimp burrito and got double shrimp. The service rep was very friendly and asked a lot of questions as to what fillings I wanted in the burrito. Ended up with brown rice, tomato, roasted pepper, and corn. Also got some cheese which was placed on the shrimp on the grill. I had $15 cash on me which I was certain would be adequate for a single burrito. Oh no, this average tasting burrito ended up being almost $19 requiring me to break out the credit card. It was filling, service was friendly and accommodating, but I'll never come back as the prices are ridiculous for a single burrito. I must have gotten nailed for the double shrimp and maybe the cheese? These upcharges cause me agita. I could have went elsewhere and gotten a better meal for what I paid. Should have went to Las Margaritas and supported a family restaurant instead of a chain but the convenience where I was I made the wrong choice. Not happy at all. But full. read more

This was my second time at Bubbakoos. I visited the Grant Ave location in Phila. The first time I had a burrito, and it was pretty good. However, my second trip was not satisfying. I ordered 3 tacos which came out to 13.60, which is on the high end of price for 3 tacos. Either way if you look at the tacos, the amount of meat on them is lacking by any standard. One of the three actually had a sufficient amount but the other two were extremely light. Anyhow, if your gonna charge the prices then you really should get a good taco. read more

As many of you know, I had a terrible experience(service wise) at the Bubbakoos of Cherry Hill NJ. I was driving past Grant Avenue, and saw a sign for Bubbakoos Burrito. At first I thought my eyes were playing a trick on me. So I googled BB, nearest location is the one on Grant Avenue. I was thrilled, told my hubby about it, we went ASAP lol... As we were walking in, we were greeted immediately by the staff. We look throughly at the menu without the staff rushing us. Hubby ordered Hibachi steak and Shrimp quesadillas. I also ordered Hibachi Steak and Shrimp but as a bowl. They were very patient with our questions. I added mango salsa to my bowl, it cost extra. They told me the cost right on spot, I didn't care for the extra cost but it is a nice gesture on their end. We really love our food. We added sweet chili sauce to our quesadillas and bowl for that extra kick. It was perfect. As a matter of fact, we were hooked on Bubbakoos so much that we came every chance we got for 3 weeks straight, sound insane?? I thought we were going crazy too lol...... read more

I was expecting this place to be amazing, and in the end, I was let down. But it's alright... I suppose I'd come back again. I understand this place just recently opened. I would always see them popping up in NJ but this seems to be the first Philadelphia location. My first impression is that the employees must still be new and getting trained on how to put the food together. Everyone just seemed scatterbrained and I think thats part of the reason why I was a little unsatisfied with the experience. I decided to create my own burrito bowl. I asked for the protein to be the vegan Boca patty and the young man behind the counter said they were out of it. I opted to get the vegetarian fajita option with no rice. He asked me what else I wanted on it but he didn't explain anything that they had so I went with the flow. A bed of lettuce, shredded cheese, guacamole (extra charge) onions and sweet chili sauce. It was actually good! The guacamole looked like it had been sitting out. It was starting to look brown-ish. No big deal. My boyfriend got a burrito with grilled chicken, among other ingredients. The dude making his burrito tore the tortilla at the bottom by accident so they had to dump all the ingredients onto a new tortilla. Someone was obviously not skilled at folding burritos... Went up to the cashier to pay. We ordered chips and guac and asked if we could just take a bag off the counter. Cashier says, "I'll get someone to put the chips on a plate with the guac and bring it over to your table." I had a chocolate chip cookie in my hand and the guy who ripped the tortilla kept raving about the gluten free brownie and somehow convinced me to get the brownie instead. He said I wouldn't regret my decision. For everything, it was about $27. A little on the expensive side, and honestly, I prefer Chipotle's menu over Bubbakoo's. Bubbakoo's does have online ordering and they do catering as well. I'll try one of their other locations in the future. I ordered online and left a tip. I built my own burrito bowl. The rice was not seasoned, the fajita vegetables consisted of a few green peppers and onions. I ordered salsa and they did not add any. Barely any cheese or sour cream. It was almost tasteless. I had to add my own sauce to it. They need to season their rice and fajita veges. Doubt I'll be ordering from there again. Wanting to support some local businesses, gave this place a try. We were first time customers and I am so sad to say we were very dissapointed. We ordered the tots with cheese and bacon and it barely came with any of that. The childrens quesadilla was paper thin with barely any cheese. The burrito was smaller than expected for the price although my husband did say it was good. I received the taco salad. It could use more lettuce and did not get any pico de gallo as requested. Portion of that for the price was not bad. Flavor was ok, but was a little on the cold side. Overall was definately not worth the price. I feel like around the corner you could pay the same and get full size restaurant food for the price. I really wanted to love this place and experience, but could not. read more

The first time we ordered it was amazing, great food. The second time was horrible. They didn't send any of the sauces and they didn't send the 2 orders of rice and beans. I called to let them know but the manager insisted that he sent everything. You can see the picture attached, it isn't there. He actually argued about it, and he got the cook involved. The cook was yelling in the background "it's there, I cooked it into the food". He tried to convince me that he added rice and beans, general tso's sauce, buffalo sauce, bbq sauce, ranch dressing, and sweet chili sauce to my tacos. I ordered the 3 taco + chips twice this week. The first time was delicious and everything was as ordered. The second time was not good. My taco shells weren't cooked/ heated, the meat wasn't what I ordered ( got the grilled chicken but ordered salt pepper shredded chicken) the veggies weren't cooked. They threw on raw bell peppers and onions instead of sautéed onions and peppers. I was missing pickles jalapeños from my order as well. This place is clean, staff is friendly, food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. My husband and I only spent $17. For 6 custom tacos. The menu is pretty cut and dry. 1st. Pick ur serving style (bowl, taco,burrito,etc) 2nd. Pick ur meat (shrimp,beef,chicken,etc) and how u want it ( Grill, crispy, hibachi, etc) 3rd. Pick ur toppings ( rice, beans, a variety of salsas, lettuce, cheese,etc) 4th. Pick ur sauce (My favorite is the Sweet chilli) And enjoy!!! We will definitely be back again. Welp it was my first time every in this location and my first time ever eating their food. Food was okay, but the customer service HORRIBLE. First thing i said when i first walked in was "is my first time ever here give me a sec." The worker never said anything to me i was just ordering, i order a quesadilla, i tough she would put the toppings after the fact it was cooking but apparently i was nvr told so i didn't even get to put any toppings in it. 11 dollars for a basic quesadilla! Family Sunday dinner pick! I ordered three quesadillas,1 burrito, cauliflower bites & side of guacamole and chips. Positive: quesadillas were crispy upon arrival and good. Cauliflower bites had good flavor. Cons: They give a side of pico with the quesadilla, I always look forward to adding it on top, well... LITERALLY a teaspoon & watered down. Idk what is going on with the portion sizing. Did nothing for me. Burrito barely had any lettuce or cheese (seen other reviews about this also) Is the guacamole made in house? A few weeks ago stopped by to checkout this new offering in the area. The burritos I got were ok, tasty albeit not that well made. The process left a lot to be desired. Upon entering I found the menu board to be a bit confusing. It was also located facing away from the ordering area which made it difficult to reference. The place is set up as an assembly line and I found the staff helpful. The items or toppings/fillings are in unlabeled containers and so I found myself having to ask multiple questions when all I wanted to do was pick up a quick vegetarian burrito. I asked for the peppers and onions and they scraped the bottom of the container shorting me of both items. Frankly, after a long exhausting day I really don't want to have a summit meeting about a burrito. Too many questions, options and decisions required to pickup what should be a quick meal. On an assembly line one indecisive customer brings the burrito building to a halt. Simplifying the menu and locating it behind the assembly line might help to speed up ordering. Even though the burrito was ok, I don't think it is worth the effort, but may try it again once they have gotten a little more practice with their prep and ordering systems. It seems like a less fresh Chipotle, since they primarily have Mexican food and you pick what you want as you go down the line. I checked Bubbakoos out for a quick to-go lunch this week after seeing it open about a week ago. After having great experiences at Andale, a similar chipotle style restaurant, I figured I'd give Bubbakoos a shot m. The menu was a bit all over the place so I decided to ask the staff for some advice (as I usually do at new places) but unfortunately they were disinterested and unhelpful so I was left to figure it out myself. I ended up making a brown rice and chicken burrito bowl. Everything appeared to be pretty fresh but was severely lacking in flavor. I tried to spice it up a bit with the Bubbakoos habanero hot sauce but it ended up just being repackaged Frank's. Personally, I don't think this place adds much value to the Grant Ave lunch options but I guess in a pinch I might give it another try! read more
