Stopped by Bubba's last week while in Safeway Center. Was not aware, there was no indoor seating so thought I would pass. Stopped in the following week and ordered the chopped brisket loaded baked potato and half rack of St Louis Ribs. They were out of potato salad. Friendly and helpful front end staff. Took it all to go with regular BBQ sauce which had a good kick. Enough food for a couple of evening meals while on a two day trip to Casa Grande. Ribs were fine, they are not suppose to be fall off the bone. Tasty with or without the sauce. Enjoyed a half baked potato with plenty of chopped brisket. We had to make a Safeway run, and checked out this place for dinner. Hubs and I both ordered the pulled pork platter and each had one side (potato salad and Cole slaw). I would say the portions are VERY generous as we couldn't even finish one meal! The pork was good, really liked the Cole slaw. The potato salad had a lot of celery in it for our taste. I plan on frying up the leftovers for carnitas :) $5.49 for a very large serving of pulled pork seemed pretty darn reasonable to me. Service was friendly as well. Chopped beef brisket was too watery. Dripping as eating. Mac & cheese was forced into a tiny styrofoam cup and held that shape like it had been in there a while. However, I must say, they have Excellent bbq sauce. If I try it again, I'd go for sliced brisket with different side. Walk up service takes a while. All orders seem to be in queue processed one at a time with perhaps only one person processing in the back. Call in orders trump people standing and waiting. Be prepared to take home or eat in your car. No inside seating. read more

The bbq here is banging, no question! We had pulled pork, a baked potato with brisket on it and a brisket sandwich as well as the Mac n Cheese. The portions were generous, and the flavor of the bbq sauce which they bagged separately was really good as well, so much so that it deserves its own mention. So why the three stars you may ask? There are a few reasons, the first is because the pricing is a bit in the high side. They do not sell meat by the pound which is a bummer, but for three people it became pricey pretty quickly. The second issue is the hours they are open, which are super less than convenient. I am not sure if this is a business or a hobby, but if the hours are as limited as they are they risk people going to other bbq places to get their fix on, and then those places become a customers regular go to out of habit if you are not open during normal hours or bbq such as dinner. They also only do take out. No dining in. So I would absolutely pick up from here again, if I am in the neighborhood before 4:00, have a few extra bucks in my pocket, and need a treat. read more

If you are looking for tender falling off the bone ribs, then this isn't the place for you. Purchased a couple full racks of ribs and had to put them in our air fryer to finish cooking them. Tried the coleslaw, it was nothing special. Wanted to also get pulled pork bbq meat only, but they were completely out on a Tuesdsy afternoon. Got 4 pounds of beef BBQ instead, but not tried it yet. This is true BBQ, A lot of people think sauce is the BBQ... NOT so, true BBQ takes real time and talent. It's the process and the meat that has to speak to me. Real BBQ doesn't need sauce. Sauce is okay but the meat is the star, the tenderness, flavor, the smoke ring and the taste, that's the real sign of good BBQ. Bubba's has that and their sides do also. the potato salad, mac and cheese are great and we just love the cornbread muffins. Bubba's shows that "Yes Virginia there is a real BBQ place in southern Arizona" Small and family owned, shows that when you put your heart in what you do you get excellences. We knew this place was under construction in the spring. So, we're back in the late fall shopping at Safeway and noticed it had opened. As much as we enjoy good brisket, we knew we had to give it a try! Walking in the door we could smell the wonderful smoked meat. Nummy. It must have been training day because the back was packed training new employees. Our cashier was friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered the sliced brisket sandwich and peach cobbler to go. The BBq meat remains good. Ordered one pint of their potato salad and they gave 3 individual servings of a potato salad which I do not think they made. Under each container was a same date expiration date. The mayo and/or eggs were bad. All three unedible. It was around 3 pm. No one would pick up the phone. I tried several times and ended up leaving 3 messages to call back. I did leave a detailed message letting them know something was wrong with the salad. Next day I tried once more, then realized, they were not going to call me back. How disappointing. Customer service is as important as the product. read more

Why do people think that "fall off the bone" is good? Here's a tip: if your meat is falling off the rib, they are overcooked. If you disagree, then you know nothing about real BBQ. Anyway, I came here yesterday and ordered the half rack with chili beans and potato salad. First, the ribs were cooked okay. Here's another tip, this time for the cook though...when you smoke ribs, you're supposed to remove the membrane from the back of the ribs. I felt like I was biting into Chinese rice paper candy on the back of the rib. Another thing, these ribs are not real BBQ. Real BBQ ribs are smoked, not baked in the oven. And if you tell me they are smoked, I'm calling BS on that, unless you did it on a Traeger, which is pretty much the equivalent of oven-baked anyway. There is no smoke ring on the rib, so that tells me they are not really smoked. Second, CHILI BEANS is also not real BBQ...BBQ baked beans is what you use for BBQ, and these aren't it. The potato salad was okay, just needs a little more salt. I will say this though...the Coca Cola was on point . And one more thing, and this may be nitpicking a little, but when you serve the ribs to go, please cut the ribs into their individual pieces. Giving a rack of uncut ribs to your customer and expecting them to cut them with a plastic knife is ridiculous, especially when the customer is eating in their car. I will say this though, the girl up front is very nice and sweet, and very helpful. So to recap, remove the membrane, buy or make a good rub to season the ribs better, give BBQ baked beans instead of chili beans, try to smoke the ribs instead of baking them, and get a better BBQ sauce. read more
