BTB, formerly Big Ten Burrito, was my favorite cheap eat restaurant when I was a college student. It quickly became a popular late-night haunt for students for its cheap and filling burritos. Back when BTB first opened on State Street my favorite item on the menu, the vegetarian burrito, was only $3 and packed with rice, lettuce, black beans, and cheese. This was my first time returning to BTB in nearly 15 years. The vegetarian burrito is now $5.50 and less filling compared to the good ol' days, but the taste remains pretty much the same. It has since moved from State Street to Good Time Charley's on S. University Ave.

Can't follow simple order instructions on an online order. It's like they made it with no regards to customer satisfaction. $18 worth of a burrito trashed. Thanks BTB! will be sure to take business elsewhere.

Me and my friend decided to eat at this restaurant because we wanted some burritos after going to the gym. I decided to get the San Diego burrito while my friend got the bomber burrito. My burrito had steak, pico de gallo, cheese, and waffle fries. Having had burritos in San Diego and since it's been a while that I've had a burrito, I was pretty excited to try this. However, I was pretty disappointed. The cheese was overwhelming, the waffle fries were mushy, and the steak was flat. This made the burrito taste like a mashed potato cheese burrito with a little bit of steak and vegetables. My friend also said his bomber burrito was too spicy and was unable to finish it. The best thing was probably the pico de gallo. Overall, I wouldn't come here again.

Good place for quick and easy food. The burritos are pretty good quality with good ingredients. There are a few vegetarian and vegan options which is always a plus. On any given night out you can find a bunch of people getting late night food, so this serves as south campus' comfort food. It's a small establishment with one table and no room to move when there's a long line (which happens frequently). I would recommend ordering to take home and eat in the comfort of your own home without people bumping into you as they go up to order. The guys behind the counter are really nice! They ask deliver to certain locations if you order online!

In Ann Arbor, there are three main burrito places: Panchero's, Chipotle, and BTB. If you're looking for a customizable, organized dining experience, stick with Chipotle. To experience a college town joint, BTB and Panchero's are the places to be. BTB burritos are basic burritos with rice, pinto beans, and a lukewarm meat. For $1 more, you get guac and sour cream. It's nothing special but it's a pretty decent deal for the quantity. It's not quality - but nobody really cares about that around 2AM or later.

BTB, you saved me again last night! This is really the place to go for a burrito if you're downtown. Home of "two-meal" type giant burritos, BTB is fast, super-cheap and open until the wee hours. It's perfect after-bar food, but also a place to get a quick bite between classes if you're over near this edge of campus anyhow. I happen to live few blocks away, so it's sort of an ol' standby at this point. If you do go after the bar closes -- say Thurs-Sat. 2:15-3:30 am, be prepared for a line out the door (the interior dining and waiting space is tiny), and annoying drunk people on cellphones trying to elbow in front of you in line. Stand your ground and you'll be fine. They mean no harm, they're just drunk (as you probably are at this point as well), and just desperately want to get to the burrito goodness up at the counter. And it IS goodness. The portions are huge, and all of the ingredients taste unprocessed and identifiable, unlike with some burrito chains. My recent favorite: The vegan plate is a huge container of food (rice, black beans, pinto beans, salsa, guacamole) for only four bucks. Add on some chips for one dolla more, and you're got yourself a feast (potentially for two), whether you're vegan or not!

Take a seat anywhere you like; we chose to sit at the bar. This is a well-equipped bar for such a casual setting: Dos Equis, Modelo, Bell's, and Sierra Rose hard cider. Waaaaay better than Chi-Chis (and any real Mexican restaurant I can think of, too). And, my wife ordered a margarita, and she loved it. Best of all, the price was very reasonable: $17 after tip for the margarita and a large Dos Equis. Food orders are placed at a separate counter, and they are ready quickly. A single fish taco is a good size, and only costs $4.75. The daily special is $10.29, and includes two tacos, rice, and beans, with a small up charge for the fish tacos. I feel like I've traveled back in time to the last century with these prices. The fish tacos are outstanding. The fish is freshly prepared, and not fried. You will want to get more than one to make it a meal, and the rice and beans in the combo are a nice complement. The rice could have used more seasoning, but this is easily corrected by mixing in some salsa. This is truly a wonderful find.

I'm big on ordering enough for multiple meals so I went with the nachos and a kid's steak quesadilla and got 3 meals out of the deal! The kid's portion came with two mini quesadillas and a side of rice and they were definitely generous with the steak portions! They had hearty chunks of steak, perfectly cooked and seasoned, surrounded by a nice melty cheese. Really tasty! For my nachos I went with the carnitas though I think they may have accidentally given me the al pastor as I bit into more than a few chunks of pineapple, which honestly was not my favorite when blended with the other elements of the nachos. I'd definitely get them again but I think I'd pick a different protein just in case. Probably the steak since it was so good in the quesadillas. I went through less than half of the nachos since they were a huge portion and tucked away the rest in the fridge for the next day. Sure, nachos don't always reheat great but I tossed mine under the broiler to crisp everything back up and then added some fresh chips on the side and it was perfect. I still had a few leftovers even after that and took the rest of it and added an egg on top for a makeshift chilaquiles dish! Pretty good! My one regret was not trying the churros but I'll definitely be doing that the next time!

A small taco shop in a nondescript strip mall, Miny's is turning out some seriously impressive and authentic tacos on par with places I love in Southern California. My friends and I swung by around dinnertime and while it was not crowded, there was a steady flow of customers and take-out orders. There is no dining area, but there are tables outside where one can sit and eat. I ordered 3 tacos: al pastor, cabeza, and Cameron, with spicy salsas on the side. The total was about ~$13. The first thing that stood out to me was the size. These were some hefty tacos, lovingly double-wrapped in pliable, warm, corn tortillas and neatly packaged for takeout. Salsa can be hit or miss but the salsas here were SO GOOD. Made in-house, they add the perfect moisture and flavor to each bite. Their green salsa has a mild, tingling kick, and tastes very rich and refreshing. The orange creamy salsa, however, stole the show. It is spicier than the green, and has a super addicting smokiness that enhances, but doesn't overpower, every bite. I was bright red and sweating but could not put this salsa down. The al pastor taco was my favorite. Sweet, soft, smoky pork with the crunch and freshness of onions and cilantro, drenched in the above salsas, simply divine! I wish it had come with pineapple for a pop of sweetness, but it was still a super good taco. I was thrilled to see that Miny's offered cabeza and lengua, as they are cuts of meat less familiar to the average American diner. I opted for cabeza and was greeted with a pile of soft, collagen-rich meat, bursting with juice and oil. The meat by itself is definitely a bit bland so the salsas did the heavy lifting in terms of flavor. The gooey-soft texture though, that was all due to the perfectly cooked meat. This was a pricier taco than the Al pastor, and there was definitely a bit less meat than in the Al pastor, but still a very good taco. The shrimp taco impressed me the least. The shrimp were unseasoned and looked to be boiled. While bouncy and tender cooked in this way, I prefer the char and juiciness of grilled shrimp in my tacos. In addition, I tend to expect my seafood tacos to have a slaw on them, versus the standard onions and cilantro. With the salsas, this taco was fine, but I would not order it another time. A very healthy but uninspired taco. Overall, for where it's located and what it is, Miny's does some amazing tacos, though I will probably skip the seafood ones next time. I will be DREAMING of that orange salsa, and now understand why on their menu, they sell it by the carton.
