When a business calls you, sets an appointment, then you call back to confirm the appointment and they tell you they have no record of your appointment, it is frustrating . Particularly when you re-arrange your schedule to accommodate them. This is no way to do business. I am done with this organization. read more

This used to be a nice company. I've been going for years....now they treat u like you're coming in for a free hand out. The people that work the front desk and the group people that just hang around it.... have become so rude and very unfriendly.. They talk down to you like you're a mooch or a lab rat. They overbooked people, and as you check in, they tell you they don't need you AFTER you just drove 40 mins to get there. They won't pay you . Even though its their mistake, not yours. They don't call you to cancel either. They now pay you with a digital card. It can take up to 48 hours to get after your study is done. No one seems to take them. I can't even buy groceries or pay bills with them. It's NOT worth it anymore.. if you want a prepaid card you that you can walk in and use at a store.... you have to contact the company and request it and wait 7-14 days to get a prepaid card mailed to you. The pay rate has dropped considerably over the years. What was once $50 to $60 is now only paying $35.00 read more

I dibble dabble in my share of focus groups and taste tests. Why not spend a tiny bit of time for a little moolah, while of course contributing to the greater good? :) Bryles Research is a bit more bare bones that a couple of other taste test places I have been to. Before you get accepted for a taste test, you fill out a survey per usual. Once you arrive to Bryles, they have you fill out the same survey. So tell the truth because if your answers are different, they could potentially turn you away. They ask you to get there 15 minutes prior to test time which makes total sense since you re-fill out the survey. The waiting room has a TV going (HGTV when I was there) which is a nice difference between the silence at other facilities. Right on time, they take you into a large room full of laptops. Each participant is divided by a partition but it's nowhere near the fancy setup I'm use to at other taste test spots where they slide you food/drinks through secret compartment doors. Once you sit down, you enter your survey responses for a third time! Again be sure to enter them the same way to be able to participate. Friendly people then explain the rules & pass out the samples. I don't know if this is the norm here but I had just one sample to try & answer some questions on. I'm used to trying about 5 samples with minor differences at other locations. In all, the test itself took me just about 10 minutes and as I left, they handed me $25 in cash. Not a bad payoff at all! read more

HUGE waste of time and gas!! Bryles is no longer paying for the market research studies!! They "send an email" with payment but never actually send it. Once upon a time they did cash, and then prepaid cards.... Eliminated those methods and replaced with "we will send an email on how you get your honorarium" and then you never get it.... read more

NEWSFLASH: According to a Bryles spokesperson by the name of Carol, "as of last year, we're no longer giving out cash, it's a thing of the past." What I'd like to know is, since when is cash a thing of the past? That's really dumb...as a matter of fact, so is this whole stupid company and the people that work for them, including Carol. And while I'm at it, I'd like to point out this guy by the name of Bob, the one who ALWAYS runs their focus groups. The one who's always pissed off and completely miserable at his miserable job! What's with the attitude Bob? Now their current protocol is to give unsuspecting respondents a useless Visa gift card, which is only good for merchandise, however, NOT for cash. You can't even get cash out of a frigging ATM machine with it like I tried to several times today like you can with other cards. What's up with that? IMO, Visa gift cards are totally worthless, for my money (no pun intended) CASH is always king! So skip Bryles you unsuspecting respondents and watch out for people name Carol! read more

Long time study participant. Company always seems in disarray. Nothing runs smoothly. Computers are always down. No one can answer questions. My most recent study I was not paid for because I never received an email link to a follow up questionnaire. Through no fault of my own even after several emails (every email was replied with a canned "we have no record of you finishing the survey) I remain unpaid. There are several other better run survey options in the area. I will no longer be dealing with Bryles. read more

Bryles does market research for companies and it is commonly in the form of taste tests. Yes, as others have stated they only pay you in the form of a Visa gift card. I agree that cash is preferable, but I'm not going to complain too much about getting paid for eating snacks. I've participated in quite a few "studies" and I've had nothing but pleasant experiences. I will say that if you live far away, it's probably not worth your time because most pay in the $25-$30 range. The place is clean, the employees friendly and it's kinda neat to try foods often before they reach the masses. read more

I've been here for several research studys. They are great fun and quick $! However the parking is inadequate. They have outgrown thir location. Yesterday, Mokenas' finest were out making sure noone parked illegally or in the lots nearby. read more

Signed up on a Monday and was able to participate in a study by Wednesday. The incentives aren't high but it's still fun and worth your time if you live in the area. The study lasted about 15 minutes and I received a $25 gift card. The place is run very smoothly and the process was easy! I'd definitely come again. read more

Signing up for Bryles research is a great way to make some money on the side. The studies range in the amount of time you're there and the amount of money you are paid. The longest I've been there was 3 hours and the shortest was 30 minutes. I've made between $30 and $125 dollars. It's really easy money. You show up, participate in the study (usually involves eating something and giving your opinion) and on the way out they hand you a giftcard. Boom. Done. Easy money. read more

Very nice people. Went there Friday night young blonde girl at the desk was very sweet. Love Bryles. The people who complain that they don't give cash and only give a Visa gift card should educate themselves. A Visa gift card can buy you gas, food at a restaurant, groceries, can use it to buy merchandise online, can use it to get car repairs. It's almost like cash. The whiners now are educated. read more

My experience with Bryles Research's claim of cash or the equivalent in merchandise for participating in surveys doesn't support their claim. After spending an hour giving all kinds of consumer and personal information, I was frequently contacted and after a phone interview , I was told I didn't qualify. I noticed that their researchers didn't have access to the information that I had supplied initially. Obviously, they were cold calling. In other words, you end up spending a lot of time talking to them and answering survey questions, without getting paid. I used their website and still didn't get anywhere. There are legitimate companies out there that offer cash for participating in surveys. When I was teaching, I was contacted by several companies, but they always required you to go to their location and spend a couple hours there, doing surveys, in order to get the money, usually $50. read more
