This business was excellent when it was ProShred. However, the business has been sold to vital records control for about a year now and the customer service is nowhere near what it used to be. They used to be very polite, helpful and accommodating. You used to be able to call in and ask a question and speak with someone on site or get clear answers about the process. Now there's a lot of ambiguity in the process. You used to be able to go in without an appointment and have your documents shredded if there was a truck on site. Now you cannot just go to the site. You have to have an appointment scheduled in advance and canceled in advance if you cannot make it per DeShawn and Customer Service. read more

My small (Elmhurst) office has 2 Pro-Shred lock-boxes on site. As they were full, I called for a pickup a couple weeks back. Fella said he would fit us in for a special 11/24 pick-up. Great. But nobody showed up. I e-mailed and was told our regular pick-up was being pushed to back to 12/1. It was as if my original phone call had never happened. Again, Pro-Shred was a no show on 12/1. On 12/2, they tell me they show their (phantom?) truck was here yesterday morning. Perhaps I am imagining it, but our shredding sits untouched in the hallway. It's been 2-weeks, and I am still trying to get them to make a pickup. read more

Elaine Rose and Dennis, in the Tinley Park office, and Jovar, the onsite technician and supreme driver, are cheerful professionals who guided us through the entire process, making this task almost delightful. We were able to actually see the papers getting fed into the grinders. In and out in less than an hour and their fees were exactly as quoted and very reasonable. Hope we never have to do this again; but, if we do, ProShred is the only shredding company we would trust to destroy our confidential files. Pro shred of Chicago the Tinley Park location located right off of interstate 80 on the frontage Road between Harlem and 80th avenue very professional. They offer many services you can have a setup schedule like if you have a small business where they'll come out pick up your stuff and shred it or you can have it shredded on the spot. Their prices are beyond reasonable I came in with a tote about the size of a large laundry basket with approximately 5 years of receipts and credit card bills and all kinds of other personal things tax papers I wanted shredded and I was hoping to watch and not just leave. Well if you have lots and lots of stuff if one of their trucks are down they have to use one of the other trucks too run a route because they do do a lot of route pickups. They said the truck wasn't there at the time which I understood however after speaking and they saw what I had they were able to fire up the one little box truck with the shredding machine after they weighed my documents and all my crap that came out to be a roughly in the $30 range. They give you the first 40 lb for the can and everything else it filled up about half of it. I'll put some videos up as you can watch how it works it's pretty damn cool she was very very pleasant and very professional and fired up the little Freightliner truck idled it up and then started the shredding machine and drop down one of the old cans and put mine up put a couple of twists down the dial brought me over and said here you can watch and see how it goes and sure enough you could see it getting shredded on the little videos I'll put up which is kind of cool watching it right on the spot. They offer many services here picture will be posted with all the different kinds of things they accept and the weight limits and prices as of the 19th of October 2021. so if I ever have anything else I need my computer monitors and other stuff which I don't have but if I did I would not hesitate to use this Tinley Park location it was simple and it was done in less than about 15 minutes and my stuff was gone. read more

If you are a business, they will send out a truck to pick up your materials. If you are a private individual, you can load up your materials and drive them in for on-site shredding service. Nice user-friendly website to learn about the services offered, location maps included. As to premises, nice clean storefront staffed with attentive personnel. If you want to watch your materials being shredded, no problem. They will help you dump the papers into a bin that is then wheeled up to the shredding truck located just inside the warehouse door. Go right in with the operator and watch him mount the paper bin on the truck for shredding. They even have a little camera attached to the shredding hopper so you can watch the shredding drum actually destroy your papers...and you see when the hopper is empty, proof positive your materials were shredded. Wow what an awesome experience. We hired them to take all our 2016-2017 office files and shred them and the process was so easy to setting it up to getting it done. We used them in 2017 and I believe 2018 as well. This is just my first time experiencing what happens and what goes on when they come. We got a confirmation call the day before which is so very helpful and also a confirmation call when they were ten mins away! That is great customer service if you ask me. Great experience. Call ahead to make sure the truck is there. You can actually watch them shred your documents right in front of your very own eyes. I prefer this modality of shredding paper because if you drop off at a location like UPS or any other shredding facility there is still a possibility that someone within the store or company can see your private documents. These guys are a bunch of crooks. They removed equipment from my office, damaged my door. They refused to repair or assume liability. I have them damaging my door on video camera. Getting my legal team involved. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. They will smile and laugh in your face but when it comes time to billing or canceling service, you will see another side to this company. Guaranteed me an 8:30 am service call on 6/10 for helping out. 6/10, this morning, I left 2 VM & 1 text message. Never called back until a supervisor called him directly to contact me. Quality, fast and professional. The every third Saturday walk in service is fantastic. They say they open at 9. The service office was open at 8:50 when I pulled in. The service rep was so courteous, which is a lost art sometimes. He even got up and came from behind the counter to open the door when he saw me carrying in multiple bags and a computer. Just a shout out to proshred. The guys showed up in a very timely manner. In 10 minutes 5 years of personal papers bills and a lot of other unnecessary paper clutter was destroyed. I did not have to lug the huge amount of material (2 giant Rubbermaid totes) to a shredding location or a potentially less secure holding area at an office supply store. They did it all for $120.
