I think his leather's said Thom C...but the people in the class were calling him John? That confused the heck out of me. I also had Terry as my riding coach. The ratio was 3 newbs to 1 instructor. Had a veryyyy good experience the first time out. The owner of Fastrack Riders even came out and gave a class ending speech and thanked everyone for attending. He also roamed the garages and chit chatted with the folks out there and checked on us! Fastrack Riders is top notch in my books. They run their trackdays at Auto Club Speedway (formerly California Speedway) in Fontana. It was professional, SAFE (that is the KEY world here) and fun! All of their employees from the check in staff, to the Techs, to the instructors and corner workers were A+! I highly recommend them and I'll be back to work on my leaning skills again in the near future. They also give you a transponder to track your lap times. I only got up to 131 mphs on the front straight. They said 170+ for the pros? WOW!!!! Bring your own food and drinks.

He graciously opened the doors of World of Racing to our community and allowed us to take over the venue for an exclusive three-hour private gathering. His willingness to collaborate with us and help bring our vision for the event to life made the experience that much more special. Our guests had an amazing time experiencing the racing simulators and getting a taste of what it feels like to be behind the wheel on the track. The simulators are incredibly immersive and realistic, and they added such a unique and interactive element to our event. We came to celebrate for my partners birthday and was able to walk in fairly easily on a Saturday afternoon. I never experienced anything like this before, and comparing it to Mario Kart would be a disservice to the equipment available at this venue. The physics are realistic, and the specs/riding experience can be tailored to real-life cars. Be aware that turning off track or spinning out of control can cause the wheel to spin vigorously so I would say this isn't meant for younger kids. It made me really appreciate car racing more because it's another level of precision and control needed to make sharp turns while maintaining as much speed as possible. This whole experience had me gripping the steering wheel with exhilaration the whole hour of racing. 10/10 and despite being notoriously bad tolerating virtual simulations due to motion sickness, I was perfectly fine doing the esport simulation.

After visiting PECLA several times, I've surmised that the acronym should really be changed from Porsche Experience Center Los Angeles to: Pushing Every Car to Its Limits...Always PECLA offers an immersive introduction to the Porsche brand, along with a variety of Driver Development courses. Through their website, you can reserve an experience and choose the type of Porsche you'd like to drive. You can even select a model you already own, giving you the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of how your own car handles in different environments and situations. I've had several different experiences here at PECLA, and every one has been exceptional. On two occasions, I was invited to participate in an all-ladies event where we tackled specific circuits: autocross, wet skid pad, off-roading, kick plate, the track, and my personal favorite...the launch pad. In the Turbo S, you'll rocket alongside the 405, going from 0-60 mph in less than 2.5 seconds. Tip: Be sure to place the back of your head firmly against the headrest before launching. Trust me on this one! On another visit, we were treated to a private tour of the impressive workshop, visible from the showroom through a massive glass window. This is certainly not your typical service center. Here, they work on race cars and heritage vehicles, making the workshop a fascinating behind-the-scenes glimpse into Porsche's racing and automotive history. If you're into SIM racing, there's also an area where you can hop into a SIM rig and race against other drivers, or simply chase your own personal best (PB). It's a great way to practice the driving line, find the apex and work on braking points. Then there's the dining experience at Restaurant 917, located upstairs with sweeping views of the pit area and track below. Reservations are a must and can be made through OpenTable™, as lunch fills up quickly. We've dined here twice for special evening events and twice for lunch. The food was wonderful! They even serve adorable little pats of butter molded into Porsche sports cars. The setting feels intimate, polished and wonderfully exclusive. Probably one of the most incredible experiences we've had was partaking in a delivery experience of a new 911 Turbo S (992.1). We enjoyed an afternoon of circuit driving, then was escorted into a special delivery room and asked to sign a numbered placard that would be displayed on the wall. The placard was later mailed to us as a keepsake; a wonderful memento of a very special day. Another unforgettable experience was having the opportunity to build a GT3 RS and send it through CXX in Germany. It's so much more than simply speccing a car; it's the ultimate automotive indulgence of choosing virtually every detail, including whatever exterior color and interior combination your heart desires. Amy at PECLA finalized everything for us, and the finished car turned out beautifully! Lastly, the one experience we haven't yet managed to do is the Morning Shift, held every third Sunday of the month. Be sure to check their website for the current schedule. One day, we'd love to make the drive down to Southern California and partake in this awesome cars 'n coffee gathering. We absolutely love the Porsche brand and would highly recommend PECLA to anyone who wants to experience what these cars can really do in a fun and controlled environment. We can't wait to return!

The ultimate driving machine is BMW. This amazing and awesome event is free and is held all around…read morethe US every year. The Orange County one is at the Anaheim Stadium. Parking is also free thankfully. You do need to sign up and RSVP on the BMW North America website first though. It goes on for several days and different times throughout the days. AND the thank you email that you receive after the event, gives you $1,000 off your next qualifying BMW! Total time for this driving event is an hour, but you are supposed to show up 1/2 hour early, and you might take another 30 minutes after to take photos and check out the different models they have on display. I had my eye on the beautiful M2 coupe! But they also had an M4, and the all new and all electric iX SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle). The models we took on the course was the 330e, which is a hybrid, and and the all electric i4 BMW. Both handled the road perfectly! If I were ever to get an electric car, it would be the i4, cuz while driving, you can barely tell that it's not a gas vehicle. I recently purchased a BMW 2-series, so I got an invite for this event sent to my email. The driving instructors are all professional drivers. Some have been in the business for 30 years. You first take a vehicle for a couple of swirvey and speedy drives through a course following traffic cones, that you are supposed to avoid touching. Then you ride as the passenger with the instructor showing you what these vehicles can really do. And they do amazing! This brand really is high performance at its best.

Before I even got back to my car two male patrons walked up to the door and he unlocked the door and let them in immediately after her denied me entry. When I asked why they were let in and why I wasn't, the patron screamed back at me "we've already been here" even though I watched them pull into the parking lot and park, and get out of their car. A few minutes later another patron was exiting and two additional patrons were able to gain entry. Not sure what's going on at this store, but clearly they're lacking in communication and customer service. Highly recommend heading to O'Reilly a half mile down the road who will not only greet you with a smile, but actually assist you with your needs. They unfortunately did not stock the part I was looking for, hence how I ended up at AutoZone in the first place.
