First, it started in the waiting room with loud, jungle music playing. It made me nauseous and put my nerves on edge. I was told that it couldn't be turned down because the system is all connected. Perhaps the young staff has never heard of radios. You can buy one for each room and put it at the volume and on the station that you like. Second, they automatically included the cost of prp in my estimate. I have had prp on my foot. I don't think it is worth the extra $600 but apparently patients aren't given a choice. I am going to my previous implant dentist for a consultation and see what they say. Money is definitely a consideration since I will be paying almost $6000.

During the consultation I was quoted one amount, and when we arrived for the surgery I was told it would be another $600. But I paid it, as my daughter desperately needed the surgery. If you read the reviews from the Gross Pointe location, this seems to be an unethical practice of theirs, and the owner uses the excuse that they're a growing company, so errors like this are basically normal! And this kind of response from an owner further explains the reason for the poor customer service and their unprofessionalism. They "claimed" that they couldn't do the surgery because she had small veins, so we were told that the surgery had to be done at a hospital. That was over two weeks ago. And I never heard anything from their office regarding rescheduling the surgery, yet they charged my credit card for the almost $2k payment. Due to Tonya's and Tammy's rudeness, lack of empathy and HORRIBLE customer service today, I requested a refund and I was told that I would NOT be getting a full refund AND I would have to wait weeks before my refund is processed!! Running away with my hard earned money is never an option, so I will be filing a claim with my credit card company, I'm submitting a case with the Better Business Bureau, I'm sending a letter the attorney generals office and I'm filing a complaint with our dental insurance company. Not everyone knows their consumer rights, but thankfully I do!! So let the legal proceedings begin! **BEFORE YOU BOOK AN APPOINTMENT WITH THIS OFFICE, do yourself a favor and read the negative reviews from their other offices...regretfully, I didn't read them until today, and now I'm paying for it!! Horrible business practices and even worse customer service!!

I thought McKinley - Holloway was going to be a great Dentist. Started off good with filling a bad…read moretooth that my original dentist recommend the tooth being pulled and suggested a surgical extraction - I went to McKinley - Holloway she said she could fill the tooth - which I agreed to. Then they did all kinds of procedures that I didn't approve of - thousands of dollars of work was recommended. I told them I didn't approve any of these procedures done. I was given a credit and later had a tooth filled and a different tooth pulled. So the credit I had was used up. I went to a new Dentist this week they did X-rays etc and found two teeth that need to be removed and recommended another Dental Surgeon which I met with today. The charges for the two teeth is going to be less than I paid for one with McKinley. So in closing - the prices of McKinley is way to high and appear to only want to do expensive procedures. Very disappointing. I will say this the Dentist did do a good job as far as the removal of the tooth. Unfortunately the tooth she filled is now one of the teeth that will have to be pulled so I wasted a lot of money having it filled.

We saw reviews on Yelp for this nearby dentist and decided to come on in. I am a huge dental-chicken but I will definitely be going here after I witness how they treated my mom. The work was quick, excellent and priced fair. What I really liked were how nice the people were! Every single person that you have to interact with were kind, knowledgeable and understanding. The actual office environment is very inviting & bright with books and artifacts to put you at ease. I found the music to be a bit loud in the waiting room but I'm sure if I said something they would have toned it down. DDS, Ray McKinley wrote a fascinating book; you can read it or purchase it while you are in the office.

I got all 4 wisdom teeth removed in one go, and it could not have gone better imo. I basically had no pain afterwards, but made sure to follow their care instructions they had provided. The consultation is the tough part, they're usually booked up, but once you get through that, they have plenty of dates for the actual surgery. The entire staff was very sweet, and got things done pretty quickly. I really appreciated two things - that they went through everything with you, and that they are very professional and do things quickly so you aren't stuck waiting too long. I really loved that during the consultation and after the surgery, they went over everything, so I wasn't worried at home. It's also super convenient that when you call, they have an extension just for pre- and post-op questions. I left a message once and they got back to me within a few hours. Cannot recommend them enough, can't explain what a relief it was to have such a phenomenal experience!

Dr. Pokorny was very professional and informative about the procedure. The day of the surgery, the staff was very welcoming and professional. Dr. Pokorny came into the room and again reviewed the work that would be done. He had to draw some blood to pack the surgical site. His blood draw was better than most of the phlebotomists I have seen. Dr. Pokorny offered me the option to be under sedation, which I chose. Shortly after the blood draw, I was out. The surgery was done quickly. I went home and have had a quick recovery. Their office has prepared post-op instructions that are very detailed and informative to help with a speedy recovery. Dr. Pokorny followed up with a phone call later that evening to make sure everything was ok. He is a very reassuring and professional doctor. I highly recommend this office. I would not want to go anywhere else.

I had my initial consultation around a year ago just to see what needed to be done and how the process worked, and about 8 or 9 months later I called back to schedule my appointment and because of when I scheduled it, it hit right in the middle of coronavirus so it got pushed back for 5 additional months unfortunately. At this point they were causing me serious pain that I hadn't previously had so the wait was just getting worse day by day and they kept pushing it back. During my initial visit we went over the treatment plan, cost and everything associated with it so I should just have to schedule my appointment and be ready, but no... They require FULL payment up front on day of surgery which normally is fine BUT they require a predetermination from your insurance, they won't take your insurance and say they assume they'll pay this amount so you owe us $xx today, they need 30 days to call your insurance before your surgery to see what they will pay and then you pay your leftover payment on your day of surgery and in my initial visit they did a predetermination with my insurance but later on I found out it was only good for 30 days and they wouldn't do another one unless I came in for another exam before my surgery, so not only was my surgery pushed back 5 months they wanted me to wait another month for an exam then another month for the predetermination and probably another month for the next available appointment instead of just doing the predetermination in the beginning when I made the appointment 5 months ago they waited until a week before my surgery date to tell me this, and I had to have another exam because they said my last one was outdated and things can change in a year and while I don't doubt that, I got charged on my surgery bill for 2 exams that insurance doesn't cover and 2 x rays that insurance doesn't cover so it was just more out of pocket for me that wasn't due to my fault which is SUPER frustrating. I found Rochester OMS through other reviews and had an initial consultation with Dr. Sonpal and liked her, which is the only reason I kept dealing with this to get my surgery done. My dentist recommended I go elsewhere to get them out. My wisdom teeth were impacted and coming in side ways and my dentist said I needed them removed soon because the veins could start getting around the wisdom teeth and I could lose feeling in my jaw if I wait too long to pull them, the doctor said that was a little dramatic but accurate. My doctor was Dr. KATHRYN SONPAL and she was very nice. I spent little time with her but when she was with me she answered any questions or concerns I had and walked/talked me through the process. I'm a few days post-op now and I expected much worse, its just extremely sore with the pain medication and without the pain medication it is very uncomfortable. The surgery itself went quick and I was put under anesthetic. When I woke up I was in a lot of pain and they only had a Motrin 600 to give me which didn't really do much for me. They also gave me a free tropical smoothie coupon, or in other words a $2,500 tropical smoothie. I like the doctor and everything is healing nicely but I wouldn't recommend this practice particularly for them waiting until last minute to tell me I have to either pay the bill myself up front next week and deal with my insurance reimbursing me or wait another 30 days and pay for another x ray and exam out of pocket too. Not cool.
