I was randomly craving a waffle club & back in the day I used to get the roasted turkey club with pesto aioli, which was so delicious. They got bought out years ago & cut my sandwich from the menu. Had to get a chicken bacon ranch club on a waffle & hold the ranch. It was a far cry from that & tasted like Carl's Jr. (who also cut my favorite bbq chicken salad from their menu). Everything is more unhealthy & focused on cutting costs. Every time a restaurant gets bought out, it changes for the worse. The whole world has as every year goes by & especially since the Pandemic. I cud go on forever about this. But no one cares. I can't find anything I love anywhere anymore. I spend countless hours in an endless search for quality stuff that's got something sort of close to what I'm looking for and it's always a struggle trying to adjust & having to ask if they can do what they used to. The answer is usually no & if they even offer to try it's never as good as it used to be. Definitely not worth $30 for a chicken waffle sang & a shake. The cookies & cream was too heavy on the cream, so it just tasted like an inside of an oreo, which isn't my preference/balanced, & they put whipped cream, even tho she asked & I said no whip. The girl walked away right after I got to the takeout counter. So I waited until she came out with a bag of trash & there was no sorry/thanks for waiting. She saw me waiting & just said "Pick up order" & when she brought my shake I said it's not supposed to have whip. I said "This is mine?" She said "Yeah." Again, no sorry & I said "I guess I'll just have to scrape it off. Ok thanks." Happens every time, so I just expect it. I used to work at this mall for over 10 years about 13 years ago & every single thing has changed. Haven't heard of any of the stores except the staples. Felt like I was on another planet. Don't understand how they have a fancy-ish restaurant in a place with such high rent. I don't get it. Super disappointed & now I know it's not worth my time, money, energy, & gas! This Bruxie is located in the Collage at South Coast Plaza, which is a small food area. There's plenty of seating and the food didn't take too long to come out for my friend and I. I got the 2 jumbo tenders and fries, and for how much it's worth, it's a pretty nice deal. With how oily these types of places are typically, I found that Bruxie's isn't too bad and just the right amount for the spice to stick. The waffle fries were really crispy too which was great, I'm not a fan of places that don't at least do that much for their fries since I love getting an order of them. This Bruxie is honestly not a bad option to go to if you're in South Coast and just hungry in the moment and want chicken. We came at around 10:15 am when they just opened and I could tell the fryer or cooking surface oil hadn't been changed. It's frustrating cause that taste lingered. My wife and I along with one of our sons were shopping at the South Coast Plaza and all came to the decision to try the Bruxie location here. We looked at the menu that offered so many mouthwatering choices with a large waffle being the vessel your choice of meat it would be resting on. The young lady who took our order was very pleasant, helpful and patient answering all of our menu questions. We settled on two Holy Chickens and our son ordered Jumbo tenders with seasoned fries. We all ordered soft drinks for our meal. In short time, our order was ready. Seating for this location is rather limited in scope, but luckily we were able to sang a table as someone else was leaving. Our two Holy Chicken sandwiches were decent in size for the price. The chicken was properly cooked and not dry, thankfully! The maple glazed bacon added another level of deliciousness coupled with the now popped egg yolk of the sunny side up egg smothering the entire sandwich. Too messy (in a good way) for my wife and and I to pick up and continue eating with our hands: using our knives and forks looked much more civilized in a public space. Our son wolfed down his double order of the chicken tenders and fries. I got the chicken and waffle plate. I must say the waffle was super light and fluffy. I was kinda surprised that it was as tasty as it was. The chicken strip was very tender and juicy. Their Honey BBQ sauce is interesting - it has a flavor I felt was familiar but couldn't place my finger on it. It was something unique to a BBQ sauce - like they had poured maple syrup in it.
