From my memory, you get a deal on tans for writing a good yelp review, so keep that in mind while reading and making your decision. Ok, so my spray tan appointment was a while ago. In May my boyfriend was being discharged from the military, and we were driving across the country from DC to HB, with many stops along the way. I didn't want to worry about my white skin in the beginning of summer, and yelp reviews for this place and Donna was wonderful, so I booked my appt and in I went. THE WORST SPRAY EVER! I even made it a point to inform her my primary concern areas were legs and arms, as I wasn't planning on doing much bikini dwelling. At the end when she stepped out to allow me to get dressed, I checked out my legs and they were striped as a Zebra! I asked her to go over once more, and she did, but it didn't really help. Maybe the terrible flourescent lighting in the tiny spray area is a problem, I'm not sure. I turned COMPLETELY ORANGE and was so embarrassed during my trip, it was horrible. At one point my boyfriend said he was "gonna squeeze me and turn me into orange juice". Just terrible. This was not my 1st, 2nd, or 3rd spray, so I know I did everything right in the way of caring for my tan. Also, you pay for your tan (which means you tip) BEFORE you receive your services. I thought this was sort of odd, but figured I was in good hands. HELL NO. I believe I tipped 10$ on top of the 45 or whatever it cost and I got sprayed orange. I would never go back, EVER. read more

I just graduated on Wedesday (May 23rd) and I really wanted to look my best. I researched tanning salons in Huntington Beach and Brushed came up. I read the reviews all of which say amazing things about the salon and about the owner Donna. Well I went in on Tuesday and I can speak from experience, and say she is awesome and so is her salon. I love the way the salon is set up it is very inviting. I decided to get the airbrush spray done by her and I felt so comfortable the whole time, she is very easy to talk to and answered the many many questions that I had. I'm very self conscious about my body and I can honestly say that I pretty much felt at ease with her right away. She took the time to fix any imperfections if I smudged anywhere and she clearly really knows what she is doing I really appreciate the wonderful customer service that her salon provides and the fact that the owner is there and present and so involved is also awesome. I don't do a lot of spray tanning, mostly just for special occassions or for when I really want to look good but she took the time to get the right color for me and make all of the specifications just right. My tan came out great and it just made me feel a little glamorous for my big graduation day! So whenever I need a spray either versa spa or an airbrush I will definitely be going there!! read more

The color came out a little bit darker than I expected but it's because I ask the lady to make it dark. The tan stay for a whole week the hue is natural and even. It costs me around $45 for the tanning and the UV light air dry. Not a bad deal at all. read more

Was heading to Vegas for the weekend. . . in two days. . . pool season had just started. . . and I was looking like Casper. Needed a quick fix and this studio came highly recommended by a friend. I have avoided spray tans, as I'm sure many have, because of the horrible jobs I have seen done (orange hands, oompa loompa faces, streaks, etc) so needless to say, I was a bit nervous coming here. I called to make an appointment for that day and luckily they were very accommodating and stay open late. I chatted with Donna on the phone and went over the best practices: exfoliate before coming in, don't have lotions or oils on and don't shave right before coming in. All of which I would've done the opposite of had I not talked with her. The studio it is very small and cute, with great smelling candles for sale I might add. Both the receptionist and Donna were very friendly and professional. Donna made the situation as comfortable as it can be while I stand there half naked as she sprays me down. The tan itself actually looked amazing, very natural deep coloring no orange undertones. There were no streaks or heavy concentration areas. I definitely plan to go back anytime I'm in a pinch for some color. read more

First of all, don't believe the review that says you get a discount for giving them a glowing YELP review. I went in recently on a recommendation from my roommate as I had never gotten airbrushed before but really wanted to find an awesome place for my upcoming engagement photos and, eventually, my wedding. Donna is AWESOME. She makes you feel so comfortable, is very quick and efficient, and just a pretty cool person all around. She explained everything to me as she went, knowing that I hadn't a clue because it was my first time. I chose the "medium" tint, knowing that it might wash off just a little before the photos, and it was PERFECT. Pretty dark at first, but one or two showers late it was gorgeous and even and still a beautiful shade of golden. Didn't come off on my clothes and didn't smell weird. Your first time is $35 and I believe it goes up to around $55 after that. WORTH IT! I'm going back before my bachelorette and my wedding this summer. read more

I truly recommend lash extensions with Sylvia she is a master of Volume lashes and she use high quality products. My lashes are amazing even I do not have a lot of my own lashes. They always stay on for 4 weeks. I can wash them and treat like my natural lashes. I had a bad experience before until i found Sylvia some technicians ask me to do not touch, wash or wet my lashes which I found ridicules. I also had too much glue which hurt my eye. I came across Brushed Studio and Salon in HB after seeing a deal on Yelp. Sure glad I bought it before it had expired. Made the appointment over the phone and was seen the day after with no issues when I showed them my voucher. Donna was the first person to greet me and asked what I was looking forward to get done for the day, I stressed to her that I was very pale from head to toe since I'm always in between traveling for work and hidden in our office during the week but had an event to go to in D.C later on at night, so I needed something quick to get my skin darker without all the harsh skin damaging sun ray. Donna suggested getting the airbrush tan which would develop a more natural and settle look within the evening and my tan would look perfect if I showered, shaved and exfoliated before coming in, good thing I did all that after hitting the gym before coming in! I had a little make up on but Donna still sprayed the tan on and my make up did not smeared or melted which was good cos I didn't want to scare the public with my pale face. I LOVE how tanned my skin got - it wasn't a messy dark orange tan, I didn't looked like I got sun burned, no missed spots or streaks, and it was as fast as counting to 3 (Mississippi-lessly). Brought in my home made sarong to wear after my spray since I didn't want the tan to smear off on my jeans. Was given the proper airbrush post care - no showering or sweating til the day after, which was ok cos I just went straight to my hotel room when I got to D.C. I definitely loved the compliments I got right when we set up our work's trade show booth the next day. Bragged about my experience and some colleague of mine are looking forward to come in to get their own airbrush tan for the summer. Maybe a company party here at the studio salon with the girls. I've been seeing Sylvia for eyelash extensions for a few months now. I will never let anyone else touch my eyes! She's so thorough and careful with your eyelashes; you can feel her going through her work over and over to make sure that your eyes look perfect! I looooove them! I used to go to a different place and they were good too but I was really allergic to their glue. Whatever glue brushed studio uses irritates my eyes only mildly, and that's only sometimes. I hope to be able to wear these for a few more months at a time before I take a break from them. read more

What a GREAT experience! I've only had a few spray tans in the past, but wanted to look really good for an event that I was going to that evening, so I decided to try Brushed Studio. The owner was wonderful. She's had many years of experience and it really showed. She knew exactly what she was doing and made me feel really comfortable. The place has a really neat machine that I definitely want to try the next time I go. She told me you stand in it and it talks to you while you're being tanned. Sounds fun. This time she used a spray gun that actually sprayed a warm tan. No shivering! After she was finished, she let me stand in another fancy machine that dried my tan really fast! I was VERY impressed. The place is beautiful. Lots of warm colors, elegant feel, and nice attention to detail. I will definitely go back! read more

Careful here! I purchased a pack of expensive custom spray tans at the owner's encouragement, and she explained to me how they worked, why it was better to buy in bulk, and walked me through everything, graciously accepted an additional $20 tip for each service I completed, but failing to mention that there would be an expiration date of 12 months on any package. Booked my last one, she went through the computer checking them each, allowed me to schedule, but then called later to inform me that she had to "take one" (the last one!) of my $40 spray tans because I hadn't used my package up in the allotted time frame, which again, was never previously mentioned.I did have to battle to get 2 others back and the girl that helps the owner, said, "She's usually good about this, she will put them back especially since you didn't know." Turns out, she WOULD put two of the 3 paid for ones back, but wanted to keep the last paid for one, ($40-45) and had, after booking it with me, and carefully reviewing everything while I stood there to schedule, she later decided to offer no services in exchange for the money previously accepted. I apologized for my role in this as I honestly did not think to ask how often I would have to come in to use these up, especially since I explained how i split my time between Az and Ca, and she knew that as during my last visit I would be returning to Az for an extended time. This would have been an ideal time to mention the expiration on the package so i could have used them prior to leaving, rather then waiting until I returned and she arbitrarily decided she needed to "take one" back, calling hours after scheduling the last one, when I had already adjusted my schedule and cancelled plans I had in order to get in at the appointment time this Thursday (we set the appointment, and she called 3+ hours later with the explanation that she couldn't honor my last paid for service). To be honest, this feels like taking someone's money and not giving them a 15 minute service that they already paid for. I should also mention that I always paid the additional $10 to dry off in a tanning bed, and tipped 30% on top of that! As a small business owner myself, I would never accept money for a package from somebody without telling them about any rules/time frames around it, especially since there was no paperwork, NOTHING OFFERED IN WRITING, so it's not like I just missed this piece of information on my own. Would also like to mention that I chatted with her about returning to Az for an extended time during my last service, so wouldn't this seem like the perfect time to bring it up so I would have the opportunity to use my already paid for services? Seems and feels like a way to take money from someone and not give them anything for it, it makes me sad that people do this, and I wonder if this place could be in financial trouble, especially since the other gal told me she usually puts them back if people complain or ask. I definitely can't be the first one to encounter the type of arbitrary decision making on packages, SO JUST BE CAREFUL! Last thing- when I came in as a neighborhood walk in and intended to purchase just one, why talk me into buying a package if you don't intend to be up front in mentioning any unprinted rules regarding them? It seems silly that I have to know exactly what questions to ask in order to avoid getting screwed over from someone selling me a set number of spray tans and then deciding to "take back" the last one because I hadn't used them in an appropriate amount of never before mentioned time. All good though, found out MAIN STREET TANNING has a location right around the corner next to Jan's, has tons more options (more beds/better prices) and packages there NEVER EXPIRE! They also offer parking (whereas this place has 1 bed and zilch on the parking unless you can find a curb out front!) Just a cautionary tale and a heads up to all my other people who like to buy packages when they visit new businesses, be careful/avoid that here.!! read more

I have been an active spray tanner over the past two years on a weekly basis and I must say Brushed Studio & Salon takes the cake as my ONE AND ONLY FAVORITE SALON to get that beautiful bronze glow!!!!! The airbrush machine used here is brand spankin new and did i mention it sprays WARM?? Yes, thats right!!! The airbrush machine sprays a delightfully heated tanning mix, which not only opens your pores for a longer lasting tan, but this also allows your airbrush tan to dry a lot faster. So no sticky feeling after leaving the salon, you can go about your day normally. Awesome, I know! Donna's new salon is gorgeous and she is always nice, helpful and friendly whenever I go. If you want fantastic looking lashes, you have to go to Sylwia!! I have been getting my lashes done, on and off, for over 10 yrs (when they first came out) so I have experienced a variety of lashes and a variety of lash service providers and, let me tell you, Sylwia is the best! She was trained in Russia with these lightweight, natural looking lashes...you can't even feel them. She has a variety of lengths so you can go as natural or as bold as you like. My lashes last over 4 weeks so it's definitely worth it!!! read more

Donna is by far the best OC has to offer for spray tans. Her unique technique makes your tan last longer and is always even. I've never had anything like it! And I've had a lot of experience in the world of self tanning...the good, the bad, and the ugly. She is absolutely the best! You have an automatic sense of ease when you arrive at her salon. This is by far the best Tanning Studio I have ever been to!! I've gotten the airbrush done here on numerous occasions and has turned out perfect every time. Not only is it evenly distributed all over my body, but it lasted me almost 2 weeks! With my very pale skin, she helped pick the most flattering bronze tone that made me look naturally tan...NOT ORANGE! The studio is also super cozy and she makes you feel comfortable while spraying instead of completely awkward, which i was first afraid of.
