100% would recommend working with Brite Beauty for any of your glam needs (mine was for my…read morewedding). This team of girls working here are absolutely amazing and responsive and I am so glad to have chosen them to help me out on my big day! Just to let you know, they are a team of highly skilled artists who are vetted through auditions from their big boss (Marsi) and I think that if you let your interests be known they really match you up with artists who fit your aesthetic the best. Booking services: Brite Beauty was one of the first local H&MU bridal vendors I reached out to after transitioning from an overseas wedding to one local. I can't tell you exactly where I found them (either Brides of North Texas, Wedding Wire, or Google) but I instantly fell in love with their work on instagram (amazingly curated). I reached out to them and they promptly sent out a quote brochure within a day of contacting them. I went through it and kind of took a pause because their retainer is 50% of services to be provided and wasn't sure if I could commit to that amount on such a short timeline. So I actually ended up with another H&MU artist who provided a lower retainer (spoiler alert: wrong idea!) After a lackluster trial with the other artist (which included her cleaning her dirty brushes with only alcohol right in front of me), I was a bit bummed about my H&MU but accepted it as it what it was (tip: never settle). One fated day (only a month before the wedding), I received a sweet e-mail from my H&MU artist in Mexico and Brite Beauty called me for a follow up for services on my big day and I really thought about it and decided to give them another chance. I talked to Allye and Marsi over the next few days after that follow up call and told them all my concerns that I had with the prior makeup artist (including providing specific hair styling & COVID cleansing techniques) and they were able to answer all my questions and give me confidence that they were the right choice to go with, so I booked them and cancelled my other H&MU artist. Trial review: The day of my trial, I arrived at their location on Rawlins Street (there is one parking spot located right in front of the building) and tried to enter the door but was having a bit of trouble. Quick call and the fact that they noticed me in the window struggling (embarrassing!) and I finally got in. I was introduced to my glam team that would be working with me that day, Sarah (@sarahwebbhair) for my hair and Liza (@lizareyes.eyes) for makeup. They also asked me if I wanted any refreshments, which I think was a nice touch. So I showed them my inspo pics at the beginning of the session and let them know what I was looking for and they immediately got to work. They got through everything and with some minor adjustments that I asked for and some tips on how to prep for the big day (work on moisturizing more because of my dry skin), they really got me ready for what to expect on the big day. Also, should note I wore out my makeup the whole day and even took a nap on my hair and makeup and that stuff did not budge at all (gave me a lot of hope for the big day. Day-of review: On the day of the wedding, Liza (makeup) and Sarah (hair) promptly arrived to my hotel where we were getting ready at the agreed upon time frame. Liza and Sarah set up their space neatly in the area available in the room and promptly began working on my bridesmaids. They were super friendly and able to execute amazing looks for my bridesmaids despite them not having a trial ahead of time like myself to acclimate what they wanted for their looks. Literally, Liza is an eye makeup QUEEN and Sarah is a braid GODDESS. These two absolutely killed on giving my bridesmaid and I some fierce and romantic looks for my big day and I couldn't have imagined it any other way without them. They are so particular with their work, that on the big day some of the hair styling for myself took a bit more time than my trial did because my hair wasn't really cooperating that day but Sarah made it work until it was up to her high standards and I thank her for that because my hair was absolutely fire on the day of! Also, all those tips that Liza had me work on (moisturizing my skin) really paid off on the day of because my makeup sat on so much better than my trial I was absolutely blown away by the work that was done on the day of and was slightly skeptical that it could turn out any better than the trial but it was absolutely 100% better than the trial and I think that's because they knew what to expect with my hair & skin tone.

Here's the thing. You get what you pay for but this business is not transparent at all when it…read morecomes to pricing, what you're getting, and what a 'completed' look is. And terrible service and communication overall. I'm kicking myself in the boots for not going with a more up to date make up & hair artist thinking I was going to get a decent experience here for a cheaper price, and then ended up paying more than a skilled makeup and hair place. First, I asked for Hollywood waves over email. The email came back saying my pictures were glam waves, so I said sure I'll do glam waves. When my hair was 'finished' curling, the front of the hair was not styled at all so I asked for more curls in the front. That ended up being a '2nd style' (at check out mind you, not during) ~ and then she proceeds to tell me 'this is Hollywood waves, not glam waves' Second, the make up artist Leslie, kept asking me what kind of look I wanted so I gave her exact instructions of what I liked. When we got to the bottom of the eyes, she just put dark colors everywhere and I looked ghoulish- I asked her to brighten it up and she asked for a picture. So I pull up a picture of a Vietnamese bride, and immediately she looks at it and says 'that's Korean make up. You need to go look for a Korean Make up artist'. I was so shocked by that comment I wanted to leave then and there but wanted to still finish the trial I signed up for. This ended up being $500 because they're calling me asking for her to complete the look, two different make up and two hair styles. I asked for the bottom part of the eyes to be brightened so that was a second make up look, and asking to style the front of the hair was called a second hair look... which all happened through the way she went about asking random questions as she's doing the make up and hair during the appointment vs. having a holistic conversation up front in the beginning. I just feel so bamboozled. Also the chairs they have you sitting is extremely uncomfortable with a low back- I honestly can't believe I was charged more to sit there and go through this experience. My back hurt for the next few days. I reached out to the business for clarification and they just simply said I got two hair looks and two make up looks, except I don't have two finished looks anywhere but just one of each. No pictures of two separate looks as they were not finished. I should have said I am not paying that then and there but I was so tired I had no energy to argue, and had to go to another meeting next. I can't recommend a business that 1) is not clear about their policy -- they need to tell you ahead of time 'if you're asking me to add this color to the bottom of your eyes, I'm going to charge another $100 for this look' instead of asking for feed back for every single thing (I'm not the makeup artist here!). I gave one feedback throughout the session and that ended up being a 'second look' and 2) immediately classifies something as 'Korean makeup' because I show a picture of an Asian woman, and tells me to go find a Korean make up artist.

I came for advanced training, was told it would be a small class unfortunately that is not what I received. there were atleast 3 who had never picked up a machine & more who were new. We were told class was 10-6pm but 12 hours before we got a message instructing us to be there by 8am. We were there every night until 8-9pm w/a 20 min break. We were fed once. 10- 12 students to 1 teacher. We had no models secured we spent a lot of our time that we should've been practicing searching for models. If we didnt find more we were going to have to share the same person. Example: 1 student does the left side the other student does the right. This happened all 3 days. *Brows: My model had previous gray PMUA that needed to be corrected. This technique is not one that you correct w/ Bc its light & pixilated. When i voiced my concerns i was told to be quiet & go sit down. *Lips: most of us know that tattooing a fitz 4-5 is a huge No No. We had 3 models whom were related w/ very dark lips. One of them of course was my model. Again i voiced my concern & was told to be quiet. The cousins lips hyperpigmented & we're very bruised, when brought to Kristina's attention she said it wasn't true. i have pictures to prove it which were given to her. *Eyeliner: Our clients spent a lot of time waiting & not numbing bc we couldn't proceed until we had been checked off. With 6+ ppl that's a bit difficult. 7 grouling hours. A lot of the clients had previous PMU. When my client told her that it was hurting. She shushed her & continued. a woman had a panic attack bc she did NOT like the style of liner Kristina was trying to put on her. They literally almost had it out. I cried all 3 nights. The kits we received were cheap. 2 gel pens, practice skin, a few microfiber wands, small pack of lip & liner wands & a machine that wasn't there. we waited over a month for (dermispoint aka Biomaser retail $149) It was so unorganized & chaotic id understand if she were new to training. But she's not. When i got home i decided to reach out. I thought perhaps we got her on an OFF week. It was the last class of the year. Maybe she was burnt out. she is human after all. I wrote a very heartfelt message describing what we endured & how not just myself but other students felt as well. She wrote back & told me i was the problem, no one else had one & she doesn't appreciate me giving my feedback to others. if i continued she would take away my continuing support. (someone asked how i thought the class was, i told them i learned some but it didn't feel like advanced class bc there was more time Spent on basics then the advanced) i let it go for a few mths i tried hard to ask questions in her support group, each time i posted/asked a question-- she wouldn't respond. She responded to everyone else but never me ( it was so bad a few ppl in the group messaged & said something about how they noticed she wasn't giving me any help) Finally i decided i was going to do something. I didn't know what but i knew i was going to start speaking out about it. a few days before i decided to make my LIVE review i received an inbox from her. She told me that she heard i still had issues with the class. she said she doesn't deal well with negativity & The fact is that people with LESS experience than me We're better than i was & she was removing me From Her support group. (Which is a complete contradiction to what she said 2 months prior. But you know. People lash out & say things that aren't nice ) I continued on w/ my video review recounting the events. As soon as that video review went live i had NUMEROUS PMUA message me telling me of similar situations they had w/her. I'm not talking 1 or 2 people. Try 6-10 just in the first few days. people are still coming forward telling me the awful experiences. Don't get me wrong some had GREAT EXPERIENCES but the ones like me who have been told we can't speak out about the negatives are finally coming forward. To me, it seems that the love of her craft has been replaced w/ the Of money which has caused the quality to waiver. This is sad Bc she truly is a talented artist. I spent 3 months working 7 days a week 12 hour days to Be able to afford her class, travel, being off work for almost a week. Did i learn some things-- sure, did i learn $3,500 worth? No, i did however learn that before i pay that much money again, i will be sure to have a contract as well as a what we will be covering & what is to be expected. I urge anyone who reads this make sure your instructors are accredited, & part of a orginazation that requires them to meet industry standards (spcp etc) These trainers make a ton of money off of us. $3500 x10 students =$35000 in 3 days. The only way we can hold them accountable in an industry w/no one to be held accountable to--is by speaking up.
