She told me she would have to keep my entire $100 deposit, which is pretty harsh considering she also told me, on the phone, that the wound would not heal well unless I am healthy. We are talking about microblading on my face, so I don't want to take a chance that it will come out unwon't heal correctly. I understand cancellation policies, but $100 is excessive if you want healthy clients that get consistently good results. From what I could see by her schedule, I didn't cost her another client at that time. At $100, most people would probably come in sick, which would cause work on their face to come out or heal poorly, or other larger issues like sterility problems and germs in a place that cuts into your body with needles. I'm not going to frequent a business that could encourage sick clients to come in because it's too expensive to cancel. To be fair, I knew that I would have to forfeit my deposit if I got sick, and like most optimists, I didn't think that would be a problem. I debated all morning on whether I was really too sick to go. That's scary. I highly recommend you think about whether you really want to set an appointment with someone who charges this much to cancel for a legitimate illness. Wish I could recommend, but I can't.
