I left my house thinking I'd be 10 mins early but, realized my mistake so I called and spoke to the receptionist who told me that I may only have time for one of the two services I booked. She told me to ask Nicole when I got there if she could do my brow wax in addition to my Brazilian so I did and Nicole said no and that she would not have time. She told me to get undressed, I told her I'm fast yet, she took what seemed to be 3-5 mins to come back in. The Brazilian went smoothly, I don't need extra care, and I don't make small talk. I went out to pay and no one was in the lobby waiting. The receptionist bumped my appt from 10:40 to 11:00. Nicole was done and I had paid at 11:03. I sat in my car and handled a few things to see if anyone came in the front doors. Not one client walked in. I left at 11:15. Nicole had PLENTY of time to do my brows. PLENTY. She was just being petty. To top it off, she had the nerve to get offended and drop an attitude on me when I didn't tip here. Was she actually surprised? Unbelievable. There are WAY too many choices for waxing here in San Diego for one of your employees to act like that. As a side note: the woman who answered my call at 10:36 when I was on the road to the store was very kind.

After reading all the great reviews I decided to purchase a Groupon for her services. I attempted TWICE to schedule an appt before finally getting one, and I get it, shes a busy business woman. But on the day of my appt I explained to her that I was stuck at work and that I would potentially miss my appointment. Before even allowing me to reschedule she informed me through text msg that she had redeemed my Groupon as a missed appt fee. I never got to meet her, talk to her, I never even set foot in her salon! She communicated through text that "it wasnt a fee, just a redemption for a missed appt". Instead of offering options it made me upset that days before leaving to my vacations that I had to rush and find someone else. I recommend reading her fine print before scheduling because according to her its standard business to do what she did in my experience. read more

Janina has saved my brows from nearly nothing to perfectly shaped and full brows. They were a lost cause until Janina got to them. She took time and helped get them back to a full and shaped brow. I am so happy with what she was able to do, and continues to do, which I thought was impossible. I will never trust anyone else to touch my brows. Janina also does my Brazilian waxing. I had a brow lamination and stain with Adanna today, and it was hands-down the best lamination/stain experience I've had. She was amazing - so kind, easy to talk to, and genuinely attentive to what I wanted. She was incredibly detailed, checked in with me throughout the process to make sure I was happy with how everything was looking, and really went the extra mile to make sure I absolutely loved the final result. At the same time, she was super efficient and respectful of my time, which I really appreciated. My brows came out BEAUTIFUL. And Adanna is far from the only wonderful person here. Afsana has done my henna brows and is consistently amazing - they always turn out beautifully. Dahlal is also fantastic with threading. There is just a really high level of talent here across the board. I also have to give a special shout-out to Vetsa at the front desk. She is exactly the kind of person you want as the face of a salon. Whether I've needed to reschedule an appointment or had something I wasn't completely satisfied with, she has always been incredibly kind, pleasant, accommodating, and genuinely invested in making sure everything gets taken care of and that I leave happy. Even over the phone, she has such a warm and lovely demeanor. The salon itself is always clean, welcoming, and has great energy. What has kept me coming back for so many years, though, is that I know I'm going to be taken care of - and if something ever isn't exactly right, they genuinely care about making it right. Basically, if you have brows and would like them to look amazing, this is the place. Eight years later, Beauty by Dolly is still my go-to for all things brows, and I can't recommend them enough!

I will say that the salon itself was very clean, organized, and welcoming. The seating was extremely comfortable, and my lash tech was courteous and attentive. She even offered me a drink, which I thought was a nice touch. Overall, the atmosphere and customer service were pleasant. During my appointment, the lash tech mentioned that my natural lashes were thin and offered to sell me a lash serum. I completely understand that my lashes are thin--that is actually one of the main reasons I get lash extensions in the first place. However, what caught me off guard was when she told me, "Your lashes are very thin, and I don't think I can do lash extensions next time." I have been getting lash extensions for the past 20 years and, in all that time, I have never been told by a lash technician that I would no longer be able to get extensions simply because my natural lashes were thin. I understand that lash health is important and that a technician may have concerns about the condition of someone's natural lashes, but the way this was presented left me feeling discouraged and confused. Perhaps there was a genuine concern about the health of my lashes, and if so, I would have appreciated a more thorough explanation and guidance about what specifically she was seeing and why she felt extensions might not be appropriate going forward. Instead, the comment felt a little surprising, especially after being offered a lash serum because of the thinness of my lashes. Overall, the salon was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and the lash tech was very courteous. I truly wanted this experience to be a great one, which is why I was disappointed that I left feeling uncertain about returning. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, because the salon has many positive qualities--I just think better communication and explanation regarding concerns about a client's natural lashes would make the experience much better.

Everyone I've worked with has been professional, accommodating, and talented, and I truly appreciate the care over the years. However, during my last couple of visits, my eyebrow area was burned from the wax, which was concerning and uncomfortable. Beyond that, the overall vibe during my last appointment felt off. It's hard to explain, but it didn't feel as warm or welcoming as it once did. Recently, I started a new job that conflicts with their operating hours, so I had to cancel my membership. After being a member for years, I was charged a $25 cancellation fee, and the interaction felt very transactional. There was no "sorry to see you go" or acknowledgment of the loyalty I had shown over the years. I even mentioned that I was going to miss coming here, and the response felt dismissive aside from a quick congratulations on the new job. Again, I do want to emphasize that the actual services have generally been great and the staff has often been accommodating. This wasn't an easy decision because I genuinely enjoyed coming here for a long time. But when you no longer feel valued as a longtime client, walking away becomes a little easier.
