I have been a loyal customer of Envious Skin Care for over three years, which is why writing this review is disappointing. Overall, the services and estheticians have always been wonderful. Everyone I've worked with has been professional, accommodating, and talented, and I truly appreciate the care over the years. However, during my last couple of visits, my eyebrow area was burned from the wax, which was concerning and uncomfortable. Beyond that, the overall vibe during my last appointment felt off. It's hard to explain, but it didn't feel as warm or welcoming as it once did. Recently, I started a new job that conflicts with their operating hours, so I had to cancel my membership. After being a member for years, I was charged a $25 cancellation fee, and the interaction felt very transactional. There was no "sorry to see you go" or acknowledgment of the loyalty I had shown over the years. I even mentioned that I was going to miss coming here, and the response felt dismissive aside from a quick congratulations on the new job. Again, I do want to emphasize that the actual services have generally been great and the staff has often been accommodating. This wasn't an easy decision because I genuinely enjoyed coming here for a long time. But when you no longer feel valued as a longtime client, walking away becomes a little easier. read more

I had a really great experience at this salon! I came for a wax and Molly was an excellent Sr. Esthetician. She was so professional, very friendly and conversational. She made me feel extremely comfortable. Her waxing was one of the least painful I've ever experienced and she was very quick. The salon itself is so cute, they have a very nice setup with cute decor and product displays. It's in a great area, in the heart of University Heights on Park. They made me feel right at home, asking how they could exceed my expectations, making next appointment scheduling easy, and they even added the little personal touch of having my name on a welcome sign. I am a serial entrepreneur and have yet to come across a more well-run establishment. My first time visiting with my fiancée, the system must have flagged her as a new customer and they put up a "Welcome Isabelle" sign at the front desk. After warmly welcoming us, she proceeded with services and as I waited, Monique asked if my fiancée had a favorite radio station or playlist. Already I was impressed but the amazing service continued. Monique seemed to know everybody's name as they came through the door and greeted everyone like an old friend. They also asked if they could serve me some water while I waited. The services performed were better than elsewhere as well, Regina did a fantastic job. Just from the website's appearance and how well buttoned-up everything looked I could tell it was a great establishment. But sometimes looks can be deceiving and all of the owner's efforts go into the appearance and not the rest. I had a great first time experience here thanks to Emily! I was nervous since it was my first time getting sugared, but Emily was a great guide who made me feel super comfortable. She was informative, friendly, funny and the easy/great/casual conversation with her throughout the experience was a good distraction from the pain I felt. She was super patient when I told her I needed a bit of a breather in between particularly painful bits, so I super appreciated that! Enviouskin is super clean and has a comfortable atmosphere. It's hard to give this place a lower rating because the place is cute, staff is friendly and they have guest parking which adds to customer care. But my main go-to for returning to a wax place is pain. My friend told me about their Brazilian special & opted to try it out. In my 10+ years of waxing, it's among the few that doesn't provide hard wax for sensitive skin in that area. I told the esthetician a few times to warn me by counting off when she'd pull the strip to be prepared when breathing and she didn't do it or forgot, so the session was more painful than other places. I noticed this process isn't in her practice and as nice as she was, I don't personally feel inclined to return. Not having the option of hard wax isn't a method I prefer for down there, because I felt pain for a long time after that (compared to other venues). read more

I got a Brazilian wax and it was as quick and painless as it could be. But unfortunately I still had some patches of hair. And that's the part that I'm most disappointed about because I don't mind a few hairs but it was two full patches and I had to shave those off. I also felt some wax still on me my underwear kept sticking to it and I had a hard time washing it off. My pubic area is still slightly inflamed. I also felt the are after and it felt like instead of the hairs ripping out it was like they were trimmed. Overall it could have been my fault because I waited a week and 6 days instead of two weeks and I have blonde/ginger hair. But I really wish I could give this a 5 star because I loved my waxer her personality was amazing but the aftermath was not. Amanda was very welcoming and helped me get checked in for my leg sugaring. I had never received this service before, but Molly made me feel super comfortable. I used to love this place but my last eyebrow wax yesterday left a red mark on my face with some pain. I've been waxing for 13 years and this has never happened to me. I reached out to the salon about my prior poor facial appointment and the staff and owner went above and beyond to correct the issue. I worked with a second staff member during a complementary follow up visit and had a much better, more relaxing experience similar to the intro session I had that sold me on the package. There were some minor billing issues that occurred as well, but again, as soon as I reached out, the staff and owners were responsible, understanding, and went out of the way to correct the account situation. I know it's been a hard time for small business over these past two years and retaining staff, training staff and working out the kinks to service changes is a challenge, but I can tell this salon goes above and beyond to ensure that customers don't feel that when they walk in the door. read more

Honestly, I don't do facials. I've thought for years that they were overpriced and really didn't accomplish anything. Boy, was I wrong! My daughter took me to get a facial for Mother's Day. Something I would've never done for myself. I walked into the salon and immediately had a wonderfully peaceful feeling. I was greeted by Kim who as it turns out is an amazing individual. Her warm personality is complemented by her beautiful German accent. At first glance her own glowing skin is a pretty good indication of her knowledge, talents and ability about skincare. She went to aesthetician school in Germany as well as in the United States. From the sounds of things, the Germans have a lot over us when it comes to teaching skin care. I got what was called the hydra facial. A relaxing process which included facial massage, deep cleansing of the skin with water, red light therapy and honestly I don't know what else - but it was fabulous! When I left, I was glowing. I feel like I glowed for days. My daughter treated me to a couple of their products which once again are wonderful and worth every penny. (I will buy them again - myself!) It's unfortunate that the student, Hope, did not appear well-prepared for the Brazilian Waxing training session with her Manager, Kim, of which I volunteered after answering an email ad to be a Model during a recent Waxing session. Having been through Professional Therapeutic Massage School and being required to perForm 600 hours of massage "for practice" at NO CHARGE, I understand the importance of student training, real world experience, mentor/mentee coaching and feedback from both the coach and the client which is why I volunteered for this gig in the first place. A way to "pay it forward". I am extremely disappointed with the way the situation was handled by the Manager/Owner Kim, and when I phoned her the next day to express my disappointment she was unable to resolve my concerns, nor willing to negotiate a workable solution. I had been a paying client at this facility prior to this episode. I will no longer be returning. Very poorly handled. In rebuttal to your response KIm. As there was another student witness present in the room, your words of my "demanding" other areas to be waxed Kim are simply untrue. I asked. You said no. I left it at that. For you to use that as your mo is highly unprofessional. As you explained to me over the phone the following day, your sudden exit of the room had to do with Labor Laws and the girls needing to leave after 6 hours, nothing to do with me, the customer. I have my go-to monthly maintenance Brazilian sessions elsewhere but this place had a steal deal for 3 waxes that I could not pass up and made the purchase without hesitation after seeing good reviews for this place. It kind of feels like I'm secretly cheating on my esthetician but the curiosity had me wanting to try. Although this place does not have hard wax (my preference) and only have soft wax for this deal but they did mention they have sugaring which is closest to hard wax. Not sure if an upgrade would apply to the deal. Soft wax, meh, not my favorite but definitely gets the job done. Deal with a little more pain to get it done. Some people hate the experience, I love everything about getting waxed. Who doesn't want a smooth vajayjay?!?! Take off pants. Wipe area. Lay in position. Bend knees. And...spread eagle. Every esthetician has their own techniques - just go with the flow. When I do a brazilian I do everything from front to back (let me put that in basic english: hole to hole). The esthetician I had was quick and good. She starts out with Bikini then work into Brazilian and in small strips because you know large strips hurt. I liked her techniques, right after pulling the hair off she places her fingers in the area to lessen the stings. There was no odd positioning for the waxing... same position throughout for the frontal. A waxing place should have a moto "leave no hair behind", there will be hair that cant be caught with the wax and those did get plucked. When its time for 'everything', you turn and lay on your stomach and spread the cheeks. Sorry if that's TMI, but this position was new to me in my waxing experiences. Awkward feeling, sure. But we're human, we have private parts, the esthetician is a woman, we are women, they do this for a living, my holes are the not the first they seen. You'll get over it real quick. It was quick and barely hurt (but I'm use to waxing so I can only speak for self). Anyways, the appointments are short ~10 minutes. They also sell vajayjay beauty cream goodies at the boutique. I've decided to try their most expensive luxury cream called the VV Cream (Very V Intensive) Beauty Cream for the V. Calm, Smooth, Condition. I didn't feel pressured to buy anything and the staff weren't pushing their products on me in anyway. I started looking at their products and wanted to try something different then the one I normally used. This one seemed fitting. It's texture is like lotion or hair conditioner - not sticky, very lightly scented, when applying it gives the skin a nice cool feeling for a few seconds, and although the vajayjay is smooth after a wax, this makes the skin extra smooth. I'm giving a bad review only because of my last experience. I was coming here regularly with my lovely wax lady Emily, but I had found out she left on the arrival of my sugaring and was scheduled with another woman (that already has a bad review) and witnessed why you NEVER cheat on you wax lady, I've been hot waxed, sugared and even had laser treatment on my bikini area for 5+ years and never experienced someone so unconfident in her technique. Painful to the point where I cancelled my membership the second I got to the desk then asked when I would be coming back. Never. One think that just realllllllyyyyy pisses me off about memberships at business that revolve around care and the spa experience is that people go to see a specific technician, not taking the 5 minutes it would take to contact a member that plans to come to this location everytime for a wax and telling them that my preferred technician is no longer with them and tell me my options from there. No. None of that just a $25 canceling fee and send you on the way. Boom transaction and over. I get it it's a business that wants that credit card on file and when it's gone, you are not longer a priority. Such an amazing experience! I had never had eyelash extensions before, and I was anxious for how they would look on my eye shape. Jazel was my wonderful lash stylist, and she walked me through the entire process! She explained to me how the lashes stay on, how she applies it and what I could do to prolong their wear. Update! I had previously posted a review due to a bad experience I had when coming in for my wax appointment and I had to follow up because Envious definitely surprised me! The manager called to discuss my experience and made sure that my services could be completed. In life everything is about communication and if possible I would give her a 10/10 for how much patience and care she showed me as a loyal customer! Sometimes in situations we have different views of what occurred but to follow up and clarify so that the customer ultimately gets what they need is amazing.
