Sweetest lady in the world who claims to love waxing! Tamara loves waxing so much that she would do it for free if it wasn't her business (her words, not paraphrasing). Her passion made me feel comfortable and safe to get a Brazilian with her. I believe if one's livelihood is waxing and oneself actually boasts about how much they enjoy it, I imagine she would be good at it. Just think of all your nightmares of how painful a Brazilian can be and times it by 10, that was my experience with Tamara. She IS nice and she IS so welcoming and friendly, BUT I rate based on service and I can never willingly get waxed here again. I get everything waxed so I'm used to the pain, I expect it, but nothing could have prepared me for my experience with Tamara. The wax was so hot and when she pulled, it wasn't clean, which means multiple yanks in the same area. When she was cleaning me up down there, she told me that some estheticians don't do a good job and she has to clean up their mess. When she constantly waxed the same spots, I expected she was being a perfectionist, but when I got home to check, there was still so much hair left!!!! I also got my eyebrows done by her. She draws them in then waxes; I would appreciate if she asked if I usually draw them in bc the answer is no. I never draw my eyebrows in so I was REALLY scared on how they would turn out... they're a lot thinner than I'm used to, but after 2 weeks they were perfect, 5 stars for shaping! I went in on Taco Tuesday because her website advertises 50% off Brazilians. Over the phone she said it would be around $25 and if I paid cash there would be an additional discount.. the final price was $35, when I asked her about the Taco Tuesday special, she said her Brazilian price ranges from $50-70, uhhh ok. To be fair, I told her I was going to get several services done, but after my painful Brazilian, I cut the appointment short... maybe that's why I didn't get the full discount :/ girl gotta make her money somehow! 3 stars for perfect brow shaping, and being a doll, but the rest was too painful and unsatisfactory of a job that I can't recommend her. She's definitely professional, kind, and confident about her waxing because after my waxing she told me to yelp her even if it wasn't 5 stars. Getting waxed is pretty intimate, so ya gotta vibe with your esthetician, we did not vibe and she understood that. I've been waxing for at least 15 years, and unfortunately my previous esthetician (who I had followed to 5 different salons over 10 years) finally got her RN and retired to concentrate on nursing. Tamara is the second, and I believe, last replacement candidate I've seen.
