It wasn't the holes themselves so much, but the distance between holes that made walking the course more of a challenge. That and finding the next hole. They weren't really well marked, but fortunately we were playing with someone who knew the course and could find their way around. Going from hole 2 to 3, in particular, was quite a hike and not at all easy to find. Overall, we enjoyed the round and will be back - but next time with a cart!

I think there are two par threes and the rest are par fours, which is perfect for me being a beginner golfer! however the woman that I joined the league with, is an excellent golfer and she also enjoys golfing at this course! They offer carts if you prefer to ride, however most the time we walk the course except when it's extremely hot, then it's better to take a cart! I have enjoyed being out on this beautiful course this Spring/summer and looking forward to playing golf there through September! That said, hats off to the staff at Luxe for treating me no differently than anyone else there that night. The evening started with a lovely buffet that included a nacho bar, both barbecue and dry-rub chicken wings, fruit and vegetable trays, and pizza. I highly recommend the pickle pizza, a delight I learned to love in the Twin Cities!! The chicken on the nacho bar was moist and very tasty. I also enjoyed the barbecue wings; they were meaty and the sauce was generous. When food started to run low, staff were quick to respond and the kitchen seemed up to the task as the buffet was replenished as quickly as it seemed possible. I was very impressed. I don't drink very often, and this night was no exception to my general rule, but I did sip my friend's tropical cocktail, and found it worth every penny because it was strongly alcoholic and very refreshing. Everyone in the large group I was there with seemed to enjoy the golf aspect of the evening. This was my first experience with a place like this, and it was fascinating to to watch. This is quite an impressive set up, and I'd be happy to go back anytime able-bodied friends are going.

The food was very good and the drinks were well made. The general manager spoke with us and wanted to ensure we had a good experience. The view when golfing was beautiful and they hand comfortable seating. I would definitely return and this place is the perfect spot for date night or time with friends.

They have some pretty fun ones to keep you engaged which is nice especially if you're not into mini golf. They have license plates from different states as their decor. Great option for cold or rainy days since the mini golf is fully indoors…read more There's lots of creative hole designs that you won't have seen before and it's easy to get around if you have mobility issues. One thing I would suggest is a lower price tier for ages 5 and under, as several holes are simply not doable for little kids, like the Mario rainbow wall. There are also only 15 holes versus the standard 18, and several rely on hitting up a ramp/tube with no indicator of where it'll go, so it's more luck based than skill. At the end there's a game to win a free game, which is easy enough with some patience. The pinball machine hole was my favorite design. They do have a full bar and food options, which we didn't try this visit.

A Milwaukee icon on the south side! This is a legendary bar that moonlights as a mini bowling…read morealley. Location is a little sketchy, and this is definitely a dive bar at its finest, but the real star of the show is the duck pin bowling located in the back. For those not familiar, it's a much shorter, elevated lane than regular bowling. Select from different weighted, softball size balls and roll it down the lane. It's much easier than regular bowling and scores tend to be high, so it's a nice ego boost and tons of fun! And instead of a machine re-racking the pins, there are teenagers that sit back there to set them up. Tips: Cash only for the bowling which is $5 dollars a person. Make sure to tip your pin setters! Its best to call in advance to reserve a lane, but walk ins welcome. There are four lanes and you can rent one or more for an hour and a half each. They bowl super late, and is an awesome spot to hang out with a group and play a few rounds! Come knock some pins down at this legendary spot!

My home disc golf course and as with much time as I've been disc golfing lately, this might be my…read morehome away from home. Nestled in the beautiful Root River Parkway near the Oak Leaf Trail, this course can be hard to find. The easiest way is to take Forest Home Avenue and when you reach 92nd Street, head south and you'll hit North Root River Parkway, where in a short distance you'll see hole 1 on your left. Hole 2 is across the foot bridge. While the water doesn't come into play on this course, the woods do. Make sure and take care when you're throwing your favorite disc, as it can easily be gobbled up by the brush. This comes into play on the later holes. This course is ran by a very dedicated group of volunteers who recently put in concrete tees and made many improvements to the course. There's a lot of TLC from the volunteers here so make sure to clean up after yourself and keep this course beautiful. Also when you're throwing, take a quick look around for wildlife. There's a doe who lives here with her two young fawns that are spotted on the course frequently. As a matter of fact, I ran into them on Sunday at the hole with the uphill shot (15 maybe?). Nothing will make you feel worse than hitting Bambi's Mom upside her head with your Innova Destroyer so let her do her thing. Just remember you're a guest in her home. Leagues are played here Wednesday night I believe. I'm still comically so bad at throwing a disc that I can't play with anyone yet. All in due time. I love this course, and I hope it's here for years to come.
