As a member of a community that has contracted with Brown Community Management (Pointe South Mountain) I WARN EVERYONE to steer clear of any neighborhood HOA using this company. I would not have purchased this home if I knew about Brown Community Management. As you can see, the majority of compliments are from contractors or employees that being paid by this firm (via HOA dues). The people living in these communities and paying dues to support Brown Community Management do not feel the same satisfaction. The attitude of disdain this company has for the community (HOA dues paying community!!) is incredible. Your HOA budget will be "milked" for whatever they can imagine and you (member) will be treated as an inconvenience to them should you need anything. This company depends on homeowners and board members who are not educated on HOA laws and works their advantage whenever possible. They "nickel and dime" for every little thing. I suggest you use Associa, City Property Management, 360 Community Property, Arizona HOA, etc. ----any other firm but this firm. I was told I could park my truck on the side of the road with a $100 parking pass only to have them still tow my truck every couple of months the neighborhood has a bad pigeon infestation that is ignored by the HOA as the roof of my home and my neighbors homes take the toll garbage floats around the streets of the neighborhood and homeless dig through the trash at night would recommend going with a company that actually cares for its locals and home owners. read more

Absolutely terrible. This company manages Canyon Trails HOA in Goodyear AZ . Their website says 'improving communities, homes and lives'. This is categorically untrue. Became a homeowner in Canyon Trails in 2019. It was a very nice place to live. About 18 months ago (Feb 2022), I began to notice a change...and not for the better. Let me use analogies that most can relate to....you ever have that neighbor that you only hear from when they want to complain? Ok....well....what about the general societal perception of attorneys? Overall....not good. Now....imagine joining the two 'types' into one entity. This would be my impression of Brown Community Management/Canyon Trails HOA. Are they concerned with making lives better? The facts would suggest...NO. What they do seem to be concerned about is sending threatening legal letters out to good, law abiding, tax paying citizens for petty things like a city newspaper publication, that is passed out to all residents, and is left out for longer than 'they' want. They send out letters for trash receptacles, boats, atvs, trailers....parked in homeowners driveways. These are hard working people that have endured COVID, inflation, unemployment, overreach from federal administration...and yet they work hard to keep a roof over their family's heads and food on the table. What they DO NOT NEED, is some sort of communist dictatorship of an HOA adding unnecessary stress to their lives. It's ridiculous....and the people at Brown Community Management NEED to be held accountable. The 3 member Board of Directors for the Canton Trails HOA are just as guilty of this behavior because they have done VERY VERY little to improve the neighborhood but they have been enacting personal agendas. These individuals should also be called onto the red carpet and held accountable. This is NOT a gated community. There is NOT a community clubhouse. There is NOT a community pool. There are NOT any community utility benefits. We are basically paying our HOA assessments for landscaping and the salaries of the very same people that are making lives miserable. This NEEDS to STOP IMMEDIATELY. Needless to say, if you are looking for a home and do not wish added, unnecessary stress in your life...AVOID buying a property in Canyon Trails, Goodyear AZ. I received a letter from the Millie Lawton at home owners association today saying that we had a recreational vehicle stored in view from the street (whatever that means!) We don't own a recreational vehicle, never have. Our neighbor 2 doors down does, and they never had it out front for more than a day packing it or unpacking it. The letter said this was reported or observed by Millie Lawton. If she observed it, she needs to go to the optometrist because her eyesight is not good. If it was reported to her or anyone else at the association for that matter they should probable confirm the information being reported before taking any action and sending a threat. read more

My condo community recently switched to this management company. Within one month of the switch, they are creating bogus citations. In my case, a non-compliance fine for not moving a bike that was outside my unit one day, and very clearly wasn't being stored there, and has since been put away, but the fine paperwork says the bike hasn't been moved. So, I was about to pay my HOA 6 months in advance and went online to do so and apparently am going to be charged a 25.00 "CONVENIENCE FEE" to make 6 months worth of payments ahead. I received a notice that my home needed to be painted (soon) , no date. Also, my wall needed to be painted. I painted it Frontier brown instead of Pioneer brown because I was confused at the store. So, 600.00 in paint. I am a 100% total and permanent disabled veteran. I put in a architectural form to keep my existing colors, denied. I asked for another form, still waiting. I spoke with an agent and he said if I couldn't afford the upkeep, move. So, I put my house up for sale. Now, they release to the Title Company I have violations? I have no fines, what violations? I have a non-compliance about the wall. Yes, thry are attempting to stop me from selling my home even though a male agent told me to move if I couldn't afford the upkeep..... Now they said to contact my case manager! I did, NO response! To amend this further, as of today, no resolution, no solutions offered. I was just told the Board meeting is July 15th, 2020. I wish we had a property management company that actually worked with the HOA and homeowners to better the community. All they want to do is collect the money and send out the letters. Take the money with none of the responsibility. They made it clear they have nothing to do with the HOA in regards to making decisions regarding the communities. They also do not seem to know their left foot from their right foot in regards to who does what or when things have changed. They allow their HOA's to violate the CC&R's but so quick to jump on homeowners for little things and shoot down their requests. Our last management company did an outstanding job, so much so that they only raised our fees .05% in 10 years and had only made this increase for the 2019 year. Brown came in 6 months ago, why the switch was even made seems suspicious at best. They instantly recommended to our Board of Directors, who seems to be made up of their cronies, to raise our fees another 16%. So our fee has gone up 21% in one year's time. Something sure seems fishy. Their only good reviews seem to come out of Mesa. Hmmmmmmmmmmm!!! Sure seems shady!!! read more

I would give negative stars if it would allow. I have not been happy with this group or their communication after they somehow took us over from our previous management company, but under the State/Worlds current situation with the COVID-19 they were nice enough to kick a community down by sending out letters telling Homeowners they need to repaint their homes while everyone is closing their doors and self quarantine. To top it off they are giving us 10 days to complete this like that is even possible right now. They also cannot try to say these were done prior to all of this either because they are nice enough to stamp the letter with the date they were on the property and yes they walked on property because I have them on my cameras walking all around my yard that day. Shame on you Brown Community and Timothy Macia for allowing these letters to go out when so many families are out of work right now. read more

Living in Rancho Antigua Condominiums in Scottsdale. I've an owner living above me who has refused to repair an active leak since 10-31-2019. I've filed an insurance claim however that does not compel the owner above me to repair his leak. I've been displaced from my home due to the extensive damage, no working bathrooms, exhausts, water leaking in on live electrical junctions and saturation of ceiling joists (limited common element) yet Brown stated in an executive board meeting that they would NOT issue any demand for repair to the owner above. CCR's article 5 states HOA has the choice to write a demand to repair. Can assess fines. But instead Brown and HOA Board members would rather risk the tub falling through my ceiling or the building catching on fire rather than to simply write a letter demanding the home owner take responsible action and require he fix the leaking, if not for his own homes sake, but at least to protect the structure of building 10. read more

Would give them 0 stars if I could. Their general voicemail box has been full since I moved in 5 months ago. I have even left 2 messages on their emergency mailbox with no response. I am a current resident of Ciento West. Our water shuts off at least once a week for extended periods of time. I had to leave for work without a shower on three separate occasions LAST WEEK ALONE! There is never a posted notice when the water is going to be shut off. There has only been a notice posted once, and it stated water would be shut off Tuesday the 17th, when the 17th wasn't even a Tuesday! There is almost always flooding on the sidewalk due to sprinklers. We may as well not even have an HOA. read more

Ive been in my condo for 6+ years and never had problems with Brown Community Management until Sherrie and Kim took over. They don't care about the tenants or communicating/responding to tenant questions and needs. Sad when someone's actions, literally make you want to move out of the home you spent years creating because there is a lack of care on their end. They are Horrible at taking care of their community's They only seem they do well is colloect HOA fee's and nickpick home owners when they don't even take care of common areas. They have no follow-up with lanscapers sub-contractor taking care of common area's. Bushed are over grown covering 1/2 the sidewalks. Tree are so thick that the weight is ready to break limbs at the next storm and they don't care. Ruts from equipemt and never followed up to get them filled in and people can't use common area for fear of twisting ankles. Run-off drains so back up create mosquito breading area (city have cited them several time for health hazards) My neighbors and I have all been wrote for single weeds in rock area around our home. We all recieved noticed for pulling trailers in front of our home (for less then a couple of hours) to load RV or cargo trailer for weekend camping or buiness trips. One neighbor got wrote up for a pre-school kid's play basketball hoop in front of their garage, that they use almost every day. Cause they didn't think it was appropreiate to have in the neighborhood. If I could give them zero star's I would they are a money gubbing business that don't care about the homeowners in their community's. read more

Worst property management company ever! They do not advocate for you (the property OWNER) when dealing with their shoty contractors, they expect you to take time off from work (knowing you will get FIRED for doing so) instead of working around your schedule to take a look at interior damage caused by a two year old "new" roof that wouldn't be leaking in the first place had a real professional done the work. They have no empathy and refuse to work with you, leaving you to live in a toxic mold paradise because after having been laid off for 3 months and just having started a new job last week, you are going to get fired if you come in late, take a long lunch, leave early or request time off to meet them at your house to let them in between 7am and 3pm. They don't advocate for the residents paying them HOA dues every month. In fact, I think they could really care less about us. read more

Living in the area for 2 years. This past 2 months have received "warnings" regarding parking on landscape (in front of our RV gate - date of said incident had landscaper backed in to trim palm tree) , Unapproved window covering / actually a USMC Curtain on a garage window which dubs as my gym and has been there for over 2 years , and Draining pool in retention area. Letter states to drain pool into the roadway, which Chandler does not allow, and of which, would drain directly into the same exact retention area... Sent an email as how to advise , any cleaning of erosion from draining pool, that is a locked non public access retention area. Multiple tries to contact with no responses. Since I was notified that my previous post did not meet requirements and was taken down - my hand was forced to rewrite review with additional information. So here goes. Issue: Computer crashed. Passwords to all websites gone. When it was time to pay my monthly HOA fee - I wasn't able to log in to website to make payment. I contacted Brown Community Management around Feb 10th. To be more specific, I left a message for Jennifer. A week later I didn't receive a returned call from Jennifer. I called back to Brown Community Management around Feb 17th. I spoke with Elizabeth. I told her my issue. Since, I was routed to Mutual of Omaha's (MOA) website and it was the username and password for MOA - Elizabeth sent an email to a representative at the bank. A week later no response. I sent an email to Elizabeth around Feb 24th. She responded to my email and included another staff member (Jennifer). The same staff member who did not return my call. Anyhow, Elizabeth advised Jennifer to help me with the community's website. On March 4th, Jennifer responded back in the email advising me that the "website is currently not available. It is being worked on, As soon as it is ready to go all the homeowners will be notified..." I respond back with the following: "How will the homeowner's be notified? My issue is having password reset - not whether the website is up and running. I believe I left you a voicemail back in the beginning and my phone call was not returned... I want to ensure this issue does not get prolonged..." Her inappropriate and condescending comment back to me: "I am not certain how I would be able to reset your password if there is not a website available? If you are aware of a way to do that please let me know and I would be happy to reset your password. My personal comments: I completed graduate school - and I wasn't born yesterday. My issue has gone on for three weeks at this point! I wanted my issue addressed sooner than later. Jennifer blew me off - was condescending towards me and DID NOT put the customer first. After several emails back and forth - I went to YELP. I made a 1 star review on Brown Community Management. At that time, and only then did an employee of Brown Community Management reach out to me and actually place the customer first without personal attitude. A VP ended up getting involved and communicating with Elizabeth and Jessica to resolve my simple issue of HOA payment. As a business graduate, think of the opportunity cost I had to forgo as a result of poor communication, miscommunication, poor customer service, and lost customer trust. I have spend quite a bit of my valuable time getting a simple issue resolved. I make a decent hourly salary - imagine how much money it would amount to if I billed them my hours lost due to this issue. Poor business operations that's evident! This company has lost my trust! Horrible company.. The gate to our neighborhood is constantly broken and has to be open manually when it gets could outside. The hot tub has been broken for weeks and has not been fixed. Management is a nightmare to deal with; I put in a service request on November 20th and never saw any action take place. When I followed up about this I spoke to Tim Macica, the Senior Vice President, who very rudely informed me that my service request was not important enough for him to schedule a contractor in the past month and that I would have to wait another month before they could schedule service because the contractor had "extenuating family circumstances". They never return phone calls, they sent out bogus notices to addresses with no viable proof that the property is in fact violation of something. They say it is not cost effective to print out a photograph and mail it with the violation to the address. There is obviously favoritism for certain residents in the community. The community is slowly looking like a ghetto. Lack of rock in certain areas, badly trimmed landscaping makes the property look old outdated and unmanaged. Too many unmanaged rental properties with blight conditions around entire sub make it look horrible. All in need a painting. They do NOTHING for what we pay them. read more

To summarize the 10 reviews here, which are very consistent: 1. Zero stars would be more appropriate, if not less, 2. Their people are ignorant beyond belief, 3. You may never encounter worse service from any company, 4. Favoritism shown to a few homeowners is grossly unfair to the majority, 5. Why they continue to be hired to manage our property is a head-scratcher. 6. You should RUN from this company's properties as fast as you can. I have received the same treatment from these amateurs for years here in Fountain Hills, AZ. How they keep our HOA in their back pocket is a mystery, but it is a very disturbing question. Their expense claims are outrageously high, while they keep the property in awful condition. They harass homeowners at random with false claims, ignore reasonable requests for service, kiss up to Board members at every opportunity, and take forever to perform simple maintenance tasks. I do speak from experience because I am an experienced real estate professional. What more is there to say? Drop-kick these losers from your property the first chance you get! read more
