Service was good. I was asked one of the ones if I needed help. The cook was excellent. My burger was kicked perfectly. The fries were awesome. They were hot, but not so hot it burned my mouth. My friend loves crispy fries. She doesn't like it when they're all soggy like and these were crispy nicely done. the burger was perfect. Couldn't have been better. I will go back and have a burger there. I've had fish there I didn't write a review that time, but it was nice and crispy tasted great. There's always people there very friendly. I will go back. I'm a little torn rating bar food; however, it's an option for several food delivery apps so fair game! The fries: fresh cut, soft (not crispy) pretty good. Philly Cheese Steak: not a lot of flavor, they made it right (looked the part) just didn't check off my boxes. Chicken fingers: they kinda look like fish or butterfly shrimp. Thin but wide, should have just been half as wide and twice as thick. Daughter and wife didn't enjoy them and they eat tenders so I wouldn't get em. Our dog hesitated on a bite. Shame on us for getting anything but their burgers as they seem to be good. With some drinks in you, probably delicious. read more

Been coming to the Bag pretty sporadically for over 20 years. One of the few places that has hardly changed over the years. It is a great laid back place to hang out. Servers have always been friendly with me and the drinks always good. But the thing that normally draws me to pop in here is the cheeseburger and fries. Nothing frozen here. Not a bad place to grab food. Stopped by on a Tuesday evening because I was having difficulty finding recommended places to eat in Victoria. Overall I would say the food was pretty good with large portions and reasonably priced. I ordered pizza bread which was more of a sloppy Joe meat with mozzarella over a toasted bun, not very pizza like, but still pretty tasty. I also had a cowboy burger without mushrooms. I tried to order it medium well but it came well done. Despite the blackened exterior it was still a pretty good burger. The beer selection was very limited, but they did have two Texas staple beers which seemed like a better selection than other places I have been to in Victoria. The people in the bar were very friendly. I brought a book to read and only ended up making it through about two pages over the hour and change I was there. Overall, not a bad place to stop and get a bite to eat at a reasonable cost. Selection was a little limited for beer and the menu wasn't big but the food was pretty good. Not a lot of selections though if you were trying to stay healthy. read more

This is a great place to have a beer (or 2) and some pretty good food. The burgers and nachos are tasty, but the pizza is devine. The husband and I spit a small pizza and we still have to get a doggy bag. I have frequented this bar for over 25 years and I still enjoy my self each and every time. Good dive bar. Its been around for longer then a lot of its current patrons have been alive and there is a large "regular" crowd that may make newcomers feel uneasy. If you can get passed this, drink prices are reasonable, beer is cold and the food has always been consistently good. Try the "Cowboy Burger" for lunch. read more

Reading the reviews on Yelp, my friend and I decided to dropped by and order some food & drinks. Mine arrived about 10 min before my his, however; we both lost our appetite when I found a 10 inch hair in my sandwich. Shortly after we decided to leave. We waited for about 10 extra minutes on our waitress to come by only to find out she was outside smoking with the cook and another waitress. She told us the total and we gladly paid (at this point we just wanted to go) then she returned my credit card and said, "l had to run yours twice because I told you the wrong total." She ended up running my card a second time for $2. Then she got upset when she saw she only got a $5 tip and mumbled, "Thank you, don't come back." That's when I replied "We don't plan on it". So, I don't necessarily have anything negative to say about the food or drinks. In fact I like the food. First off, I am 18 and don't drink. I usually come in with my dad and boyfriend (both over 21) and serve as the DD while getting to watch some sports and people watch. Brown Bag is a cool little hangout for Victoria and I used to frequent there and was never asked to show my ID after ordering a water. However, one day a very fake looking blonde in her late 40's, maybe 50's asked to see my ID (after I ordered a water and was accompanied by my mother, boyfriend, and their 35 yr old friend, all of which were not carded...) after seeing that I was 18, she said in an almost manic tone that no one under 21 was allowed in the establishment after 6pm and that I had to leave right away almost as if I were a criminal. It was extremely insulting and embarrassing. Am I the only one who finds this mind boggling? I'm serving as DD, I'm drinking a water, and I'm not just at a bar, but a bar and restaurant. I was actually going to order a burger and eat dinner there but apparently that's not allowed. How can a business like this not allow DD's? My boyfriend and I left for his house (45 minutes away) and my mom and her friend then had to drink with no DD available and when they were done, exit the parking lot directly onto the busiest street in Victoria. Not very smart! Idk...I just cannot get over this. I'm not going to say anything bad about the owners or the establishment. I'm not even going to say anything bad about the woman who asked me to leave. I understand she was doing her job, but I do think they need to reconsider that very stupid rule. I'm just trying be a responsible daughter and make sure my family doesn't drink and drive and I get treated like a criminal...such a shame. read more
