Pitts Radiology is the pits. They are contracted out with Palmetto Children's, so if your child is…read morerushed there after calling 911, you won't be able to avoid them. As with many hospital stays, various contracted services like radiology are billed separately to the patient (as opposed to being included in the bill from the hospital). I wasn't aware of this, and quite frankly as a consumer it's not my job to know how hospital billing works. Here is what happened with my family: Almost six months after my child was hospitalized, I began receiving texts saying I had an outstanding balance with Pitt's Radiology and included a link for payment. At first I ignored the texts because I thought they were a phishing scam as I have received multiple spam texts like this in the past. Also, I had never visited Pitts Radiology (unbeknownst to me, they were the provider contracted out by the hospital). Soon after I received a voicemail that I needed to pay my balance or my bill would be sent to collections. After that, I did some google research and discovered that Pitts was the provider for Palmetto Children's. I reviewed my hospital bills and saw it didn't include the x-ray my child received. Putting two and two together, I realized this must be what I was being billed for. Wanting to confirm (considering I had NEVER received a bill), I called the number I found on google, which resulted in a being transferred to two different people with "it's not my job" attitudes. Finally, I was finally directed to an 800 number. I called it and was on hold for over 20 minutes being looped from automated message ("press 1 for ...") and could not get a person on the phone. I hung up and tried again and experienced being on hold for 30 minutes before someone picked up. I heard voices in the background and then... CLICK. Yep, they hung up on me. Before calling a third time, I checked out the link sent by text, which directed me to a page that had the balance owed and a box to enter payment. NO itemized bill, not even an explanation of the service provided! Unacceptable! I called a third time and after 30 minutes spoke to a woman who agreed to send me a paper bill in the mail. When the paper bill arrived it was INCORRECT. It accidentally listed my bill twice and doubled the amount I owed. Plus, it still did not show any information about what portion of the service was covered by insurance. I was livid. I drove straight to the hospital where I asked a security guard to please show me the way to Pitt's Radiology as the address listed online was for a hospital building. When I arrived and demanded to speak to the billing department the woman told me "we aren't Pitts Radiology, we work for the hospital." Really? Because this is the listed address. The woman behind the desk called another number, gave me the phone, and the woman (shock) said they don't do billing and gave me the 800 number which was the same one I had problems with. I gave up. I mailed a check to the address provided by the 800 number woman for the correct amount owed and wrote a note on the bill about the error. If you are a parent and your child needs x-rays or other radiological services, do NOT take them to a Palmetto Children's or you will be stuck dealing with this incompetent office!

My insurance paid them, but they assume that since I HAVE insurance, I must have deep pockets! They keep sending me bills and it is now JUNE. This is one of a handful of bills. They are contracted out by Providence Hospitals so if you don't want to deal with them, Don't go to providence hospitals! I didn't know they would drag me like this and didn't even know Providence had private imaging contractors. I will never go back to Providence now for that reason. Shame on these people. They will latch onto you if you have insurance and won't let go.

This is hands down the best urgent care in the CSRA. We drive here from downtown Augusta because…read morethe staff here cannot be beat. The providers are thorough and do a great job of explaining what's going on and what your treatment options may be. All of the providers we've seen have been fantastic with kids. As an family with young kids we've been in for everything - flu, strep, UTIs, broken bones, you name it. Each time we've received exceptional care. On top of that there are onsite x-rays, and for my partners x-ray that needed a second opinion they were able to use a radiology service rather than sending him over to the ER. Billing is easy and you can pay via app.

VERY unprofessional and VERY creepy. Secondly, I'd like to mention my terrible experience with PA John Martin. He was rough with my mother and very rude when she asked for a second strep test to be sure. He asked her "have you never had a cold before?!" And repeatedly talked over her saying "you don't have strep but okay" and came in after the second test with FOOD IN HIS MOUTH and said "test came back negative. You'll be sick about a week." And walked out. Nothing else and stormed back to his little corner like a 5 year old. Apparently a bunch of whack jobs work here.

It's tricky to review a hospital because if you need it, it's not like you really have ALL that…read moremany options to choose from. Such is the case with the Children's Hospital. We started a very long day at the other local ER before they transferred us to the Children's Hospital for my son's injured arm. We arrived here around 1:30 or 2pm on a Sunday so we figured it would probably be busy but didn't really have any other options since non-pediatric ERs don't have the right setup or expertise for dealing with young kids. The waiting room for the children's ER was honestly horrible. There were parts of the ceiling not fully in place and half the lights seemed to be out, or it's just incredibly poorly lit. It also didn't really appear that they clean or sanitize the waiting room much(if ever); we saw zero cleaners come through during our 6 hour stay. The wait itself was not great, we waited an hour or more to get an X-ray, then an hour or more to get put in a room, then at least two hours before the doctor came back with a diagnosis and treatment. Lots of waiting, mostly in that awful waiting room, but I will say the staff both at ER check in and the nurses and doctors and x-Ray techs were all very kind and helpful and professional. I think it was just the way an ER is on a Sunday- busy and a little overwhelmed. The bathrooms are shared with the regular ER at Wellstar MCG and were nasty nasty. I was glad my son was at least in diapers and didn't have to deal with that. I wish they'd sanitize the waiting room. We all ended up with a nasty bout of Norovirus after the visits so bring extra soap and hand sanitizer and activities for young kids that involve minimal touching of surfaces.

My niece was the only one that had to get admitted, and it was scary, but we prayed, and God blessed us with amazing doctors and nurses and wouldn't go anywhere else. I recommend bringing your kids here.
